    Best in the Low Country

    Amanda, Annie and the team are the best in the business. Even though our venue canceled our wedding 40 days out (COVID), Amanda had a backup plan ready and we toured it within 48 hours of the news. She has beautiful vision and took my little ideas and brought them to life in a way I never could. The wedding day was flawless, any issues were well hidden and I never felt rushed or worried. Book her immediately!

    Not just a job to them; it's their passion to make sure every bride's vision is turned into a reality

    It's hard to know where to start when explaining just how much Amanda and Annie did for us. On our first phone call, I explained to them that I had a very specific vision for the wedding (one that included a week of activities for guests, Pinterest-filled decor, customized cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, a rehearsal dinner and welcome party the night before, an after party, farewell brunch, etc). Not exactly the easiest order, especially considering I lived hours away and would be planning this as a destination wedding. From that very first call, Amanda and Annie greeted me with professionalism, excitement, reassurance, and support. Not once did they make my ridiculous requests seem outlandish, not once did they let my question go unanswered (even when that meant them planning a site visit for me on one of their BIRTHDAYS), and not once did they tell me something wasn't possible. Instead, they found a way to make every last idea become a reality. They worked so flawlessly alongside the vendors, organizing and executing each aspect of the week to perfection. Despite my wedding being an outdoor tent wedding, I knew that, should it rain, I was in excellent hands with their hundreds of back up plans. I could go on and on raving about the unbelievable dedication and communication from them (Annie went as far as to check out the previous night's rain damage under the tent at 11pm on a Friday). These are planners who not only do this because it's their job, but because they truly care about the bride/family and making their experience as stress free and positive as possible.

    Incredible Service!

    It is hard to find the right words to express how much I loved working with Spencer Special Events. Let me try this in three parts!

    1. From the start, Amanda put me at her ease with her extremely warm and caring disposition and her excellent sense of humor. I have a background in Event Planning in New York City and I was pleasantly surprised by the high level of taste and service I experienced throughout the planning process with SSE. Amanda and Annie (her wonderful colleague) have strong relationships with excellent local vendors that I would have never found on my own. They were extremely patient when my work schedule prevented me from paying as much attention to the wedding as I probably should have at certain points in the planning process. As the wedding neared, I felt so calm and ready to enjoy the weekend!

    2. CUE HURRICANE FLORENCE. My husband and I were supposed to be married on September 15, 2018, but the weekend before the news coverage became all about Hurricane Florence. Although beautiful Bluffton was (thankfully) spared from the storm, the governor of SC got a little too excited and called for a mandatory evacuation the Monday of our wedding week. As you can imagine, it was incredibly stressful and upsetting but SSE was so helpful and supportive. First of all, Amanda is so sweet you could tell she felt heartbroken too, bless her! She and Annie immediately handled everything with all vendors so we could focus on notifying our guests. They were so patient with us as we decided if we would reschedule, and we ultimately decided that we would reschedule for the Spring.

    3. Fast forward to April, after Amanda and Annie rebooked most of the wedding vendors and magically recreated our original wedding weekend! I had been so pleased with the team throughout all of the planning and the drama but their onsite/day of planning is next level amazing. I barely had anything to do and could focus on enjoying the long weekend of celebrations with my guests! Everything was absolutely gorgeous and well-run, and they truly thought of every detail. Amanda and Annie have a larger team they use for wedding day support and I felt like I had an army of planners making sure everything was going as planned. Plus, they had me laughing throughout the day, and you can’t beat that.

    SSE, thank you for the best weekend we could have ever imagined! My advice to future brides of South Carolina: HIRE THEM!

    Choosing Amanda and her team at Spencer Special Events was the second best decision I have ever made (the groom being the first)! I wasn't going to hire a planner because I had already spent so much time planning and had very specific ideas about what I wanted. I even thought planning a beach wedding from Atlanta was possible, because I had started so far in advance! When my venue let me know that I could not begin to decorate until 2 hours before the ceremony started, I knew this was bigger than me! That's when I began looking for planners. I interviewed over a dozen, but when I heard Amanda's voice, I knew she was the one! It doesn't matter where you are in the planning process. Her team spent over a year helping me plan the destination wedding of my dreams. Over the course of the year, there were literally hundreds of emails, several in-person meetings/phone calls and countless deliveries that she received on my behalf. Somehow, SSE did not miss one single request and her team made the reality of our wedding day beyond anything I had envisioned.
    SSE provided me and 8-10 vendors (most from her incredible vendor list) an impeccable timeline. They also went above and beyond to take care of me and my wedding party and executed a worry-free perfect day. Because of SSE I was relaxed and actually enjoyed every single second of the day. The team not only have incredible attitudes and boundless energy, they literally smiled all day. I cannot say enough about how awesome Amanda and Annie and the entire team is at SSE - they didn't just give me what I wanted but items from my wedding wish list and made it all look effortless. I only wished I had allowed them to plan the entire wedding, instead of just getting the partial package! They were such a pleasure, I'm saddened that I no longer get to work with them! There are no words to express our gratitude for their effort, professionalism and hard work that made a fairy tale out of our wedding day!

    It's hard to put into words how valuable Amanda and everyone at Spencer Special Events expertise was when planning my destination wedding. Being that I live in Pittsburgh, PA I knew I needed help to create my dream wedding. I probably talked to at least 5 planners in Hilton Head prior to picking Spencer Special Events. From the moment I heard Amanda's voice I knew she was the right woman for the job. Her exquisite taste, wonderful relationships with vendors, patience and organization and knowledge of the wedding industry made the planning process so easy for me. Hiring Amanda was the best money spent and worth every penny if not more. Everyone in my bridal party was shocked at how flawless the day went and that there were no issues! The only downside is that my wedding is now over and I don't have the pleasure of dealing with Amanda and her team on a regular basis. Thank you Amanda for making wedding planning a joy!

    Spencer Special Events helped me plan the wedding of my dreams and then some! They had the best vendor connections and made the whole planning process fun and stress free! Amanda was able to listen to all my ideas and pull everything together perfectly. She did a great job working with my remotely, she maximized all my trips to HIlton Head just those weekends alone took a ton of planning and coordination. When the wedding weekend came around I was so calm and relaxed because I knew that everything was going to run so smoothly as it had during all the planning.

    I have to start out by saying hiring Amanda Spencer from Spencer Special Events for our big day was the best decision we ever made. From the moment my husband and I met her, we knew she was the right choice. Her bubbly and genuine personality not only allows her to connect with her clients, but also the vendors, which is extremely important. Everyone I spoke with who knew her, or had worked with her before, had nothing but great things to say, and the new vendors I brought in along with my family and friends thought she was just spectacular. Especially when hurricane Sandy was about to ruin our outside tented reception! It’s true, hurricane Sandy almost ruined our special day but you would have never known it working with Amanda and her team (Lindsay, Megan, Annie and even her husband Case). She designed a detailed “Plan B” option just in case the weather didn’t hold up, but did everything in her power to bring our wedding vision to life - and sure enough the day was perfect. Even though we had to move the ceremony indoors (it was originally supposed to be outside), everything was still extremely organized and went off without a hitch. Amanda and her team were on site all day the day of the wedding right up until we had our confetti send-off. We cannot say enough wonderful things about her and truly feel she will be someone we continue to keep in touch with for years to come. I would highly recommend Spencer Special Events to anyone knowing they would have the same experience.

    Amanda Spencer and her crew of extraordinary ladies provided the most amazing experience for me and my family both leading up to my wedding and on the day of the wedding. We keep raving about how Amanda was the best money we spent on the wedding because without her, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy my wedding day nearly as much as we did! Amanda is truly a special person in that she makes you feel like you've know her for years, even on the first encounter with her. She is extremely responsive, professional, spunky, hard working, and will do whatever it takes to make your dream wedding become a reality. We are so thankful to have worked with her and her talented crew and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Amanda!

    If you are considering a wedding planner for your big day, I highly, highly recommend Amanda Spencer of Spencer Special Events! She is the sweetest person and is very good at what she does. Amanda knows her way around a wedding and all of the planing. I was able to sit back on our wedding day and know she had everything under control. And trust me, things will pop up, and it is so nice having someone there to take care of everything. Amanda was fabulous to work with for over a year on all of the smallest details to helping us find the perfect vendors. I highly recommend Amanda Spencer and Spencer Special Events!!!

    The best thing we did was use Spencer Special Events for our wedding. Amanda was amazing, professional, and fun. We live in South Florida and at first thought maybe we can do it on our own. We were so wrong.
    Pre-wedding-It was great to work with Amanda, she would meet with us when we came to town, email us back promptly, and would answer all my silly questions with a smile. She also helped with vendor selection since we were not familiar with all of them. She was also nice to store items for us since we were driving each time up there.
    Rehearsal and Wedding day- Amanda had a wonderful itinerary for both days and appointments prior to wedding. Amanda had a team of 3 members, one being her husband, who was super sweet. They all worked extremely hard and made the wedding perfect. I did not worry about one little thing. It was actually a pretty relaxing day all because of Amanda and her team.

    The best thing a bride can do is hire Spencer Special Events. My husband tells everyone to hire a planner now due to our experience.

    We had a great experience working with Lindsay at Spencer Special Events for our October wedding in Hilton Head. We live in North Carolina and could not be there for a significant part of the planning. Lindsay knows what she is doing and it made us feel at ease during the planning process. Anytime we had a question about vendors or wedding details, she had a solution for us or did research to find a solution and provided options within a timely manner. We felt Lindsay was honest and worked for us to get the best rates possible with vendors.

    We had several last minute changes with guests and weather the week of our wedding and Lindsay and her team solved each issue with a "no problem" attitude. Having Lindsay made our wedding experience very stress free and we were able to enjoy our big day. This was the best money spent on our wedding. We highly recommend using Spencer Special Events. Thank you for making our wedding seamless!

    I am a local vendor who has worked with Amanda and her team on serverall occasions and I must say, I am impressed! Not only are they the smileyest and sweetest ladies you'll ever meet but, also very professional. Their events are smooth and stylish, just like them. A real joy to work with!

    The BEST money my husband and I spent on our wedding was on a wedding planner. Worth every single penny!

    At our first meeting with Lindsay and Amanda at Spencer Special Events I knew we had to hire them. It was essential that we hired someone to help plan and make recommendations since we live in Charleston, WV and weddings have a way of making brides overwhelmed. Both Amanda and Lindsay were so personal and so genuine. They asked questions about us and wanted to get a good feel for what we were looking for. I loved their energy and they were so much fun!

    Lindsay Daly was our wedding planner and I cannot say enough wonderful things about her. She was efficient, organized, helpful, kind, detail-oriented, has impeccable taste, and she was not phased but the incessant questions I asked! Lindsay handled the details and helped keep everything on track.

    When I arrived to Hilton Head for our wedding weekend Lindsay had everything organized and was available to handle all the last minute details. I was able to let go of the wedding-related stress and enjoy my weekend with my family and friends. Everyone commented and how seamless the ceremony and reception were and how everything just flowed. Well, that was all thanks to Lindsay and the Spencer Special Events Staff. Case Spencer, Amanda's husband, was also on hand to help get the groom and groomsmen organized and direct the wedding guests to the reception.

    I'd also like to say that it was so thoughtful of Amanda to stop by the day of my wedding to check in on me and see how I was despite the fact that she had given birth to her second child just weeks before my wedding.

    Spencer Special Events leaves no detail overlooked and are so wonderful. They worked with my husband and I to achieve our vision and helped us stay within our budget. My wedding was perfect. I wouldn't have changed anything and that is because Lindsay Daly and Spencer Special Events ROCKS!

    If you are looking to get married in the Bluffton/Hilton Head/Savannah areas give Spencer Special Events a call. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE them!

    I cannot recommend Spencer Special Events enough. Seriously. Amanda and her staff were absolutely amazing. From our very first phone call to the end of the reception they were the personification of the organized, put-together wedding planning outfit. I had a vision that I had 100% certainty Amanda would execute -- and she did. And did it better than I could have, all while becoming one of my dearest friends!

    I think people often imagine wedding planners to be an indulgence -- something that well-organized people can go without. But I wouldn't trade having hired Amanda for anything in the world. And after hearing the accolades so many of our guests had for the wedding, I don't think they would either! The fact is that there are a million details -- big and little -- that go into wedding planning, that most of us will never think of. Amanda was there to pay attention to those details, which ultimately took our wedding from the "good" to "amazing". We were really keen on making sure our guests had the time of their lives and felt well taken care of -- they came from all over the country and the world, and it was our responsibility to make sure they were happy. Amanda helped make that happen, right down to welcome bag delivery, shade and water for the sunny reception, and finding what time mass started on Sunday for my husband's uncle. She truly went above and beyond all of our expectations.

    There may be other wedding planners out there, but you'd be hard pressed to find one as down-to-earth, helpful, thoughtful, and fabulous as Amanda. We are lucky we found her -- and so grateful for all of her help in making our wedding exceptional.

    Amanda and her team at Spencer Special Events were wonderful to work with. Even with some last minute changes due to weather, our wedding turned out better than we could have imagined. Amanda is very good at what she does and I could not have done it without her!

    Amanda did a fabulous job planning our wedding! Our wedding day was better than we could have ever pictured because she made everything go so smoothly. Her vendors were great, and Amanda went above and beyond the call of duty. We are ALL extremely thankful to have Amanda help us with our special day!

    Amanda Spencer is AMAZING!!!! A resounding majority of our guests told us two things 1) How magical and beautiful our wedding was and 2) that my mother and I were the calmest and most relaxed MOB and bride that they had ever seen. I'm definitely inclined to agree and all credit goes to Amanda and her team. Frankly I'm astonished at how organized and efficient she is while still remaining incredibly sweet. She's an absolute treasure to work with, I must have emailed her 30x a day as we got closer to the main event and she responded immediately and always managed to keep me calm. To give you some perspective, my husband and I are medical students, my parents are doctors AND we wanted a destination wedding and had to do all the planning long distance via email, skype and phone calls and she had to deal with busy, stressed out doctors and med students. Not only did she give us a story book wedding, she actually made sure that we could enjoy it by keeping everything running smoothly. You will love this lady! I would recommend her to anyone! If you want a beautiful, stress-free wedding, Amanda's your girl!

    Amanda and her crew were AMAZING! We decided to have a destination wedding in Hilton Head and hiring Spencer Special Events was the BEST decision we made. Not being from the area, Amanda was great to work with. She knows a lot of the great vendors in Hilton Head and offered a lot of great suggestions. We did not get the wedding ceremony completed until 2 days before the wedding (my fault!), as soon as we completed the ceremony we emailed it to Amanda. The NEXT night at the rehersal she had a program that looked AWESOME and went with the theme of our wedding perfectly! Amanda put together a great timeline for the wedding and everything worked out perfectly! Thank you so much for all your hard work Amanda and crew!

    Amanda Spencer was an absolute joy to work with over the past year. With out a doubt, hiring Amanda for wedding coordination was one of the best investments we made for the wedding. Amanda is responsive, reliable, resourceful, proactive and also a pleasure to work with. We also relied on Amanda for vender referrals and we were pleased with each referral. From beginning to end, Amanda provided top notch service, allowing myself and my parents to not worry with the 'little' details, but enjoy the events themselves. I can't thank Amanda enough for the excellent service she provided for my wedding weekend.

    I had my doubts about working with a wedding planner because I figured I could do everything on my own, but I have to say, Amanda really did help. She did what every wedding planner should do...... she burdened any and all stress (with a beautiful smile on her face nevertheless) and made everything seem like it was running perfectly smooth no matter what was happening behind the scenes.
    There were several last minute things that I would not have wanted to do or worry about, and her and her staff took care of those things.

    The only thing I would suggest to her future clients is that you also do your research for vendors. She knows of many but many were a bit costly, so it was helpful to find out on my own how much things cost in general so I could make the best financial decision for us. As she was helping to coordinate our event in Hilton Head, many vendors she suggested were based out of Hilton Head..... so I looked into vendors in Savannah and Charleston. Don't get me wrong though, Amanda was well worth the expense.

    I can't imagine how I would have made this wedding happen without Amanda. It was everything we wanted, that perfect blend of traditional and not so traditional, and her vender recommendations were all spot-on.

    This review is overdue, but even four months after my wedding, I still smile at all the details that were magically taken care of. I only wish, looking back, that I had stopped worrying about so many of these things because of course Amanda had everything worked out.

    If you are planning a wedding in Hilton Head (or anywhere else Spencer Special Events Covers) I recomment Amanda because: (1) she is honestly excited and happy to help you with your wedding, (2) she has incredible relationships with the vendors you want to work with, (3) she and her staff melt into the background on the big day (until she comes up to you and reminds you to use the facilities .... also very helpful) and (4) she is flexible and listens to what you have to say (for example, when your parents really want a project so they can help out, she makes that happen).
