    My dream venue was perfection

I have always wanted to have a wedding reception at this museum, and it really was perfection. The staff set up all the tables and chairs right where we needed them, gave us the run of the upstairs galleries, and offered extra support during the event. It was perfect.

The sculpture garden at the Springville Museum of Art was the most magical place to get married! Several of our guests commented that it looked like it was out of a movie! The staff were so helpful and attentive!

We had our wedding and luncheon/reception in the sculpture garden. It was beautiful. We had to do some haggling to let them let us take pictures inside after the wedding but in the end they let us. I couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place to have had our wedding. The pictures are gorgeous! We used Cinch Photography and she did an amazing job.

We held my daughter's wedding reception in the sculpture garden in September. It was great. We had planned to have the reception inside the building, but like the idea of going outside. We're glad we did. We loved having the reception outside around the sculptures. We liked knowing that if the weather turned bad we could move inside. Having events at the museum eliminates the need for other decorations, which saves money and hassles.

We loved the Art Museum. It was a unique and beautiful location and a great alternative to using a reception hall or church. We had to be inside because of the season but the museum has an outdoor feel to it. We had a large wedding party and a large guest list and the Museum accommodated everyone and gave them art to look at while at the reception! The location was perfect for our needs and much better then any where else we looked at.

My husband and I could not be more happy about how our wedding reception turned out at the Museum. The staff went above and beyond to make our night and event perfect. When we decided to have the reception there the staff were very clear about the rules and regulations (no burning candles, no touching the art work, etc) and we never ran into any issues. It's common sense, really.

I would not change anything about our reception. Not to mention the Museum was the most affordable and classy place of the countless sites we looked at. The location made for spectacular photos and we still hear from people how much they enjoyed the reception and looking at the fantastic art on display. It was such a special day. Thank you Springville Museum of Art staff!

Beautiful, big, classy and surprisingly affordable. My wedding reception at the Springville Museum of art was dreamy! One of my favorite parts of having my reception here is that decorating on my part was very minimal - the art hanging on the walls and the beautiful architecture took care of that for me.

The museum galleries are the perfect backdrop for wedding photos - I couldn't be happier with how mine turned out. It was so convenient to be able to take them right before the reception began.

We had over 500 guests show up and there was plenty of room for everyone. Several tables and chairs were provided by the venue which helped with the budget for sure. The staff was helpful and friendly.

The SMOFA is a great venue for a wedding reception. Its classy and elegant. The event coordinator is really nice and accommodating. She only works a few hours a week, so make sure to check the schedule online to meet with her.

Fantastic. The venue was beautiful and not a lot of decoration is required! It's the cheapest I could find AND the best, plus you get a huge discount if you're a Springville resident. It includes the entire main floor which is MASSIVE as well as changing rooms downstairs. Tons of parking, fun balcony for throwing the bouquet. They also allow you to take pictures around the venue for free at your convenience. I got my bridals in the courtyard and they turned out really well. Giant kitchen too.

The Springville Museum of Art has been the one place I've always wanted to have my wedding reception- and it was perfect! I love art- and to be surrounded by such a beautiful museum full of beautiful art on my special day was ideal. The museum staff is very helpful and accommodating, although they have to be a little strict on some decorating ideas because of the sensitivity of the art etc. but otherwise they are amazing and work hard to help make everything run smoothly. We had originally planned to have our reception in the sculpture garden, but moved it inside due to chilly weather. It was wonderful though- both inside and outside the museum are great locations for a reception.

I enjoyed having my wedding reception here at the Springville MoA. I would highly suggest using the beautiful Sculpture Garden as the inside of the museum is unimpressive. The event coordinator was very professional and helpful. She made sure we understood all the details of the contract and was always available to answer questions. The staff hired for the night of the event were great too. I know other people wrote that the staff just sat around and ate the food, but I hardly noticed the staff, except at the end of the night when they helped clean up. We hired a company to do the lighting for the event and the event coordinator worked closely with that company to make sure things went smoothly. I am extremely satisfied with the location. Many guests have told me how much they loved the location and didn't even know it was there.

I enjoyed having my reception at the Springville Museum of Art! The museum looked beautiful and classy. However, they do have some strict rules. You cannot put up lights of any kind or move their tables around, for example. Find out the rules ahead of time. If you're fine with the rules, this is a great place for a reception! I would definitely recommend it!

    Ceremony+reception

I was So excited to have my wedding reception here, but was disappointed. We booked the outdoor garden and it is beautiful, but because it sprinkled rain on us for 20 minutes before the reception started they tried to make us move it inside. We would have had to pay $200 extra to move indoors and our event host got upset when I told Her I didn’t want to move indoors because the rest of the evening was perfectly sunny. Before asking me, they had moved the sound system inside as well as a table or two, and when it came time to get our refund, they had deducted $40 for the “indoor set up” that took place. That’s not a big deal, but it was frustrating because we had paid $45 dollars extra for the staff to set up tables and chairs for the reception, but they said they wouldn’t have enough time because of being short staffed, so my siblings/parents did 90% of the set up of tables and chairs. Not a horrible experience, but a bit frustrating to deal with.

Very recently had my sister's reception at the springville art museum. It is a beautiful and well priced place to have a reception I'll give them that however the staff was awful! I know it wasn't just our experience we have heard from several others that have had weddings/ receptions there say the same recently. It wasn't always like this I in fact was married there 6 years ago and they were wonderful and very helpful. This time not so much. They were very rude the reception was suppose to be out in the garden but due to rain the morning of they decided (yes they get to choose) that the reception would be inside even though the rest of the day and night were beautiful weather. Did I mention they get more money if it has to be inside. Not thrilled about that. The bride specifically wanted pictures in the garden and they said it would not be a problem however when we went out there to take pictures we were yelled at by an employee stating that we had 1 minute to get our pictures and get out! She then went on to say that we didn't reserve the garden which we had and that they were understaffed so we couldn't do pictures out there anymore. The bride was quite upset since she got 1 picture out there. Then when we went back inside she went back and sat behind the desk with another employee and did nothing except yell at people and help themselves to the food at the reception. I didn't realize it took two people to sit behind a desk and do nothing when you and "understaffed." They were just awful and very unprofessional the whole time and when it came to sign the paperwork at the end of the night my mom was afraid to put any complaints because she wanted to get her deposit back. The guy in charge said he would sign everything off at the end of the night because we spent a lot of time making sure everything was clean and left how it was when we got there but when it came down to it he wouldn't actually sign it in front of her.

    Springville Museum of Art's reply:

We are genuinely concerned that your sister was unhappy with the service we provided on her special day. We have made several changes in Management, staffing, and updates to our Events Venue Rental program and training since this review was written (a year and a half ago), specifically that we do not partake of any food unless offered and also that we position our event hosts throughout the venue to better serve the needs of our clients and guests.
Thank you for the compliment that our museum was beautiful and well priced. We will continue to strive for excellence in all areas of our service to the public and hope that you will come again to see the changes we have made, or to at least view the beautiful artwork displayed.

I had my wedding back in June at the Springville Museum of Art. I can't count on both of my hands the number of times I had to call Dawn, the reservation coordinator, because she had jacked something up. We had to re-schedule the date because she doubled booked us. We had to re-schedule a walk through with her twice because she was going to be out of town and no one else would be able to give us the paper work we needed. We had to re-schedule having my bridals done there because she had again double booked us. When it came time to figuring out exactly when our reservation time started and what time we had to be out of there it was like pulling teeth trying to get a straight answer out of her. Upon scheduling our rehearsal she called me one hour before the scheduled time she called to say we had to reschedule because she yet again had double booked us.
We had arranged with Dawn and two other people that the day of the wedding we were going to be there two hours before the event so that we could set up and my bridal party could get ready. We showed up two hours like we had planned and the floor had not been mopped like the contract says will be done, they were not ready for us with tables pulled out, they did not know where their iPod cable was (which was broken, so if you are using an iPod bring your own way to play it), the DVD player didn't work (again bring your own), no one would open the gate so that the chair delivery guys could get into the garden and set the chairs up, it was all just a mess.
The wedding ceremony ran just fine, we got the music working, but the reception was a whole other story. The second cable that they found for my source of music was cutting in and out all night so only half of my music played, not to mention it cut out during our first dance song. The staff were so rude to my guests, tell the children that they couldn't run around on the grass. The best part was they just kept eating the food!

    Springville Museum of Art's reply:

Thank you for your constructive review. Since the time of your wedding (June, 2012) we have made many changes to our Events Venue Rental program including the addition of an Events Coordinator position. Dawn is our Office Manager and as you can imagine she is pulled in many directions. With Gina on our team (she's great) now we can spend more dedicated time to the needs of our clients.
We regret that your AV needs were not met and have taken measures to ensure that this does not happen again. We advise our clients to come in before their event to test any CD/DVD they want to use so that both we and the client will be better prepared come the day of their special event.
We hope that these measures will encourage others to come to the Springville Museum of Art for a tour to see what we can offer them on their special day.
