    Beautiful Venue

    I had a friend recommend St. Cecilia to look at during wedding planning. An absolutely beautiful venue right in Downtown Grand Rapids. Carla, the event coordinator, was great to work with through postponing our event multiple times due to the pandemic.

    Planning During COVID-19

    I have been working with this venue for our reception during the global pandemic of COVID-19. They have been so flexible and kind and helpful in every way imaginable! Carla is a dream to work with, and the venue itself is so so beautiful. I would recommend this venue to everyone I know. They make wedding plan feel so easy!

    The perfect gem in the heart of Grand Rapids

    Such an incredibly beautiful and unique venue!! My husband and I could not have been more impressed with the ease of the process to have our wedding here and how beautiful it was on the day of. Carla, the event coordinator for St. Cecilia, was amazing and always so incredibly timely in her responses! I 1000% recommend this hidden gem as your reception venue!!

    This venue is beyond gorgeous. We had our ceremony in the President's Room and reception in the ball room. We hardly needed any decorations because the venue itself is so beautiful. The team at St. Cecilia was awesome to work with and they made our big day go so smoothly. I highly recommend this venue.

    We had our wedding ceremony in the Dexter Ballroom. Not only did the price fit right in our budget, but we hardly had to use any decorations because the room is so beautiful on its own, and we were able to use a sound system as well as the grand piano for our music. Our ceremony photos look amazing with all the natural light that comes in through the windows along the back wall. Carla was great to work with and always responded quickly to any questions or changes we needed to make. We wanted a location that wasn't a church but also wasn't some small, back room at a banquet center. This was exactly what we were looking for. We got lots of compliments on our choice of venue!

    We feel so lucky to have had our wedding reception in this beautiful place! I barely had to decorate because the Dexter Ballroom is already so beautiful on its own. The venue had just gotten new banquet chairs that looked great, so we did not have to order chair covers. I wish we had given ourselves more time to take pictures around the building. Carla was quick to respond to emails and was very helpful in the booking process and with any questions I had leading up to the event. Thank you St. Cecilia Music Center staff!

    Great Price. Carla their event coordinator was very sweet, helpful, and professional. This is a historic building with beautiful architecture. I selected this venue because it had personal meaning and memories but I would recommend it to every person having an event in Grand Rapids.

    We loved having our wedding at St. Cecilia! Carla was very helpful with our initial meeting onward, answering any questions we had quickly and efficiently. As my husband and I are both musicians, the venue was perfect and gorgeous and perfect for the size of our wedding (around 140 people). We were also able to meet with Carla a few weeks before the wedding and clear up any questions. They also allowed us to come to the venue the week of the wedding to practice on their pianos (my husband and I are both pianists and played for our guests on our wedding day), which are wonderful instruments.

    Where they really came through, though, was the day of the wedding! We had planned to have our ceremony outside at my grandparent's property and have our reception at St. Cecilia; however, it rained the entire day! Turns out St. Cecilia is the best "plan b" you could have! Even though we had only rented out the ballroom, they were more than accommodating, allowing us to use the dressing rooms, the main auditorium, and the lobby/seating area for our needs during the day. I cannot imagine how we would have made everything work together if they hadn't been so helpful and willing to let us use the space! Everything photographed beautifully in the building and came together so perfectly despite the rain. We couldn't have picked a better venue for our needs!

    We chose St. Cecilia Music Center for our wedding venue for multiple reasons and we were not disappointed! First of all, St. Cecilia’s location is great for guests who are staying out of town, as well as traveling in for the day. There are many things to do in the Grand Rapids area and many places to stay. The ambience is fantastic - very classic and vintage feeling. We had our ceremony in the President’s Room and the reception in the Dexter Ballroom. Having both portions of our wedding celebration in one location was great and extremely convenient. The President’s Room provided an intimate ceremony experience and both rooms comfortably fit our approximately 100 guests.

    Our contact person at St. Cecilia’s was Carla and she was very informative and helpful throughout the process. The majority of our communication was via email as we are from Chicago and Carla was very prompt in her replies. She was also very accommodating and it was possible for us to stop in to view the venue whenever we were in Grand Rapids, even meeting with our DJ at the venue prior to the event.

    St. Cecilia’s provided an exceptional wedding experience at a very reasonable price!

    Carla did a great job making sure everything was perfect for our wedding ceremony! We had the blue room and it was perfect for our small wedding of 50 guest. The lighting and color in the room was beautiful, romantic and was ideal for an evening wedding. Carla was great at returning my emails and phone calls. Thanks Carla!

    This is a beautiful venue for a wedding in downtown Grand Rapids. They have several spaces; we had our ceremony in the President's room on the main floor, and then the reception upstairs in the ballroom. Many of our guests remarked about the grace and loveliness of the building. I found Carla wonderful to work with - we were able to change our ceremony room only weeks before the ceremony when we realized our guest list would let us move into a smaller, more intimate space for the ceremony. The classic decor and the brilliant light of the venue in the ballroom do not necessitate much additional decoration. Some nice tablecloths, a few floral arrangements, and everything looks lovely.

    We find St. Cecilia a perfect venue for a solemn and elegant wedding ceremony. We had the Dexter Ballroom which provides ample room for our 100 guests. Carla, the event coordinator of St. Cecilia is very responsive and very helpful to provide our event needs. Great to work with.

    Picture Perfect!

    My experience planning and executing my wedding at St. Cecilia was excellent! Carla and Kelley were very helpful and made the process so smooth. The building was exactly what I needed for my 140 person reception. We held a cocktail hour in Wege Recital Hall and reception in Dexter Ballroom. Everything was beautiful and just as I imagined!

    Carla was very helpful and always available to answer even the smallest of questions (large to us). The understated elegance of the late 1800's building contributed to a classic, lovely atmosphere for our daughter's wedding ceremony & reception. I would highly recommend using St. Cecilia Music Center for your event.

    The ballroom at St. Cecelia is beautiful. Great for a medium sized wedding. The facility is terrific! You have to use 'their' vendors, which worked with what I wanted. One note, no liquor for your bar, and no red punch. Wine/beer only, and find a different color punch :)

    We had our ceremony take place at Saint Cecilia's Music Center Ballroom and I would completely recommend it. We were given access to the dressing rooms to get ready, which are small but were fantastic for me and my 6 bridesmaids to get ready in. The staff is very friendly and easy to work with, and the whole center was just renovated within the year, so paint and floors are pristine. The ballroom fit our 180 guests perfectly and we even fit a chuppah against the windows for a beautiful backdrop. The only issue I experienced was a homeless man sleeping at the front door of the center the morning that me and my bridesmaids arrived to get ready - it would have been nice of the staff to make sure that we didn't have to be the ones to make the man leave (so maybe just don't arrive at 10am on a Saturday?). However, it truly was a really beautiful place to hold either your ceremony or reception.

    We had such an awesome experience with Saint C's. Because our wedding was during Art Prize (and Saint C's is an Art Prize venue) we expected at least some bumps. There were none! Carla, our main contact, was incredibly helpful throughout the process. We viewed the venue multiple times and she was always patient, flexible and willing to help. The day of staff did an awesome job managing our event. If you haven't been inside, go look. It's beautiful. The facilities are well maintained and despite the high level of foot traffic for our day the staff did a great job of keeping everything looking beautiful. We had full usage of the parking lot (which they limit access to) as well as the dressing rooms. The only thing we'd change about our experience are the limited vendors they allow for providing alcohol (hence the 3 for flexibility).

    Antique Luxury

    We loved this venue. It had an old antique look. Very beautiful. Our wedding and reception was in the same building. We rented two rooms. Once our wedding was done we climbed these beautiful stairs to the reception. I will definitely recommend this venue.

    St. Cecilia's music center was a beautiful venue for our wedding reception. The only downfalls that we experienced was someone had apparently gone in the morning of our reception and shut the air conditioning off on a 104 degree July day because they were recording something and didn't turn it back on! With over 150 people in the room-it got hot!!! Also, they said that they would have someone come in to set up the tables and chairs so we could come and set up our centerpieces and my poor husband and his friends ended up having to do it all! Overall, I would recommend this venue, just make sure they have the a/c on and are prepped for you to come in and do what you need to!
