    We can't say enough good things about Strawberry Milk Events.
    Anna and Julie are a fantastic team, and balance each other well.

    We had a 300 person wedding in Washington with multicultural elements. We met with 4/5 planners in the area before deciding on Strawberry Milk.

    We were pretty intense clients, with several type-A parents, a detail-oriented fashion designer as the bride, and a perfectionist management guy as the groom. As our go-to on planning, Anna is a truly talented professional at managing different personalities beautifully and moving the process along. Her organization and attention to detail is masterful.

    Julie handles the design coordination, and our vision was to turn a traditional space into a Modern Arabian Nights concept. She was able to translate my sketches and ideas into a reality that turned out to be totally stunning, lush, and beautifully detailed. We were so excited when we walked into the venue, as were the guests.

    It was a pleasure working with Strawberry Milk on a very complex and multifaceted event, and everything went beautifully. Big thanks, and our highest recommendation.

    What can I say? Julie and Anna – i.e. Strawberry Milk Events – are the best.

    Our wedding was like a fairytale. We asked them to give us a beautiful, casually elegant wedding in a see-through tent, outside at a private residence, with fireworks, shuttle buses, etc. Sufficed to say, it was a challenging project and we were asking a lot. They knocked every single thing out of the park without even a blink.

    In the run up to our wedding they made it so, so easy. Instead of having to shop around and figure out all the intricacies, they did all the legwork and provided us with a shortlist of options. In addition, they are design masters. They just know what looks and feels and tastes good. They brought a level of professionalism, experience and talent to every step that impresses us even now. If we did not ask these guys to help us, we have no doubt that the whole event would have been a step down in caliber. Every teeny tiny detail on the day was not only thought about, but also perfected.

    Outside being ridiculously skillful and just generally great at what they do, they made the process just a joy. Instead of the stressful chaotic mess we were bracing for, we got to enjoy a relaxed and fun – yes, fun – wedding planning experience. They are genuinely wonderful people to be around.

    In short: if you have the option to get Strawberry Milk Events on your team, take it.

    Julie was an incredible planner, coordinator, organizer, visionary and designer. She created an unbelievable wedding, beyond what I could have imagined. She put together a dream team of hair and makeup artists, florists, bakers and more that all surpassed my expectations. Julie is fun, nice, professional and incredibly creative. She has amazing ideas and follows through with everything she promises. She is the perfect combination of wedding planner and coordinator and event designer and stylist. I highly recommend!

    I cannot thank Julie Savage from Strawberry milk enough for the amazing event created for our wedding. She's a very down to earth, 'real' person, who just cares a lot about her clients. Throughout the entire process Julie was there to ensure that the day we envisioned was not only what we got, it was better! She was able to help steer us to amazing vendors and kept us within the budget we had set. Julie excels at the small details, and with just some broad guidelines, put together a day that our guests couldn't stop raving about. I live in New York and planned a Baltimore wedding,even though distance prevented us from meeting all the time, Julie was always a step ahead of our thoughts. And the decor, we cannot say enough about how creative, artistic, and resourceful she was. It was perfection defined. I can't recommend her enough!

    Julie Savage and her team at Strawberry Milk Events definitely fall in the 'ideal' wedding planners category. My experience with Julie was nothing less than incredibly professional and exceeded expectations on all counts. As we all know, a wedding is a personal occasion and the goal for any couple is to find a way to have your fairytale wedding meet the reality of guest list, venue size, catering, flowers, etc. This team will find a way to make it happen and take all the crazy stress of planning off your plate.

    We choose the full package and that is exactly what we received. Julie and her team have a large network with vendors all over Maryland and DC. She managed communication, meetings and details with each vendor. We meet regularly at my house, super convenient, and discussed tasks and timeline due dates to ensure things were on schedule.

    Julie understands the intricacy of the business. The job of a wedding planner exceeds far beyond organizing budget spreadsheets and task timelines (although those pieces are helpful and provided), they are creating the entire atmosphere for the party. Julie took the time to learn about my husband and I in order to create a final product that fit our personalities. I am from the mid-west and my husband is from the east coast, my request was to find a way to mesh these two worlds...not an easy task. Julie was able to create the most beautiful ballroom at the Four Seasons Baltimore with a maritime meets Colorado mountains theme and it was breathtaking. We were able to get a quick sneak peek of the room before our guests entered and to say I was speechless doesn't begin to do it justice. The tables were set, the flower centerpieces were perfectly positioned, colors flowed seamlessly and the lighting added the final touch!

    Words of wisdom...if you can make room in the budget for a wedding planner, do yourself a favor and hire one. And if you're really smart, you will choose Julie Savage and Strawberry Milk Events.

    After seeing her beautiful set up at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club bridal show last year, my mom and I hired Julie for a custom wedding planning package for my 9/10/11 wedding on Gibson Island. Julie and I met once per month leading up to the wedding, and then also the weekend of the wedding (the rehearsal, and then all day of the wedding). She was also available by e-mail pretty much 24/7 - which I really loved, because I had questions and concerns about everything pretty much every hour of every day :) Julie provided me with advice about everything - including how to save money and cut costs with the menu and floral arrangements. She also went "treasure hunting" on a few occasions to find little decor items and knick knacks to meet our chesapeake bay/french blue wedding theme.. In the beginning phases of planning my wedding, I kind of had a blurry vision as to exactly what I wanted everything to look like. I just had no idea how to make it all happen. Julie helped tremendously with executing that "vision" and making it all as beautiful (and cost effective!) as could be. She's also super easy to get along with - so many times I was stressed out, and she really helped assure me (and my mom, too) that everything was under control. :-) I would definitely recommend Julie and her talented team of planners!

    Julie did a fantastic job helping pull together the details of our wedding! Julie worked with me the month before our wedding, as well as the day of the wedding. She helped me work with the decorator to help get my vision across as well as add her expertise and ideas, which ultimately led to really beautiful centerpieces and decorations for both our ceremony and reception. She also coordinated my rentals for me, and helped me pick out the right types of linens, chairs, chargers, etc which really enhanced the room, and took a load off my plate! She also was very helpful in planning the rehearsal. There were a lot of people to shuffle around, and she was very good at making sure everyone knew what they were doing in a calm and organized manner. Planning a wedding is not an easy task, and there are lots of details that can be missed when you don't do this for a living, so it was extremely helpful to have someone who was not only an expert, but also very friendly, creative, knowledgeable, easy to work with, responsive, and dependable! I would definitely highly recommend Julie to help you plan your wedding or any other special event!!

    I'm an older bride with a design background. I wanted to work with someone that would be a second pair of eyes and bring fresh thinking to our secret elopement. She would be my only resource for bouncing off ideas, sharing opinions, and discovering new details -- none of our friends and family knew of our elopement. Julie was a godsend, she was my right hand woman. She supported me in the months up to our elopement and then was there on our big "secret" day. I strongly recommend her as a planner and a designer. She will challenge and bring new thinking to brides -- even brides like me, who come from the design field and have great confidence in their own abilities.

    Julie has wonderful taste and creative ideas. She was extremely helpful as we came down to putting the finishing touches on most of the event, specifically: table settings/centerpieces, ceremony music, procession/recession, creative and sophisticated ideas for the escort card table and so on! I was really appreciative of everything Julie did for us, she helped make the day flow and was very flexible with everything - she was available for meetings, joined us for pre-wedding events and super responsive when I had questions and needed input. Her taste is impeccable - have you seen the photos on her site!? Do check them out, really beautiful.

    Julie was all the things that you expect a wedding planner to be and more. She was organized, throrough, attentive, understanding, reachable, and honest. I have recommended her to a number of friends about to get married and will continue to recommend her to womever needs party planning services. The team that she put together for the day of the wedding was also great- they handled everything wonderfully- any glitches that occurred would be total news to me since I didn't see a hair out of place!

    Julie is so great to work with--responsive, creative, easy, and gently keeps you on track when wedding craze gets a bride overwhelmed... By the time we met I'd made most of the big decisions: date, location, invitations, band etc. so I warned her in advance that towards the end my attention would drift and when it did she handled things for me. She has a great style and eye and helped me get the look I wanted, and attended to the details when I couldn't. She's such a refreshing change from the typical group of DC planners, who do beautiful weddings but nothing particularly interesting to me. I was so grateful for the time she saved me by handling vendors, tracking down the answers to questions that came up, sending ideas and photos for things I couldn't describe myself. She was charming with my mother--of utmost importance!--and the groom. She has a great energy, and a sense of fun and whimsy and makes it very easy to enjoy the process. She might not have personally worked with everyone in DC yet but was able to suggest some vendors aside from the usual suspects when I wasn't thrilled with Washingtonian.com's go-to list. The reason I give a 4.5 for quality of service is only because there were a few bits and pieces that seemed a little scattered just before the ceremony. There is so much going on during the pre-wedding chaos that I'm not sure how things ended up happening, if it was the team's error or a result of general wedding confusion but in the end these are not the details that matter much or that your guests know about. If there were any issues otherwise I never knew about them--which is exactly as it should be! Julie pulled it out at the last minute and got us tons of beautiful things to top off our cocktail hour in the African theme we chose. It was pitch perfect without seeming gimmicky.
    Maybe your friends and family have to say this but everyone was beyond gushing gushing gushing about how amazing the party was; it was seamless, sparkling, beautiful and romantic and Julie's sense of style and execution definitely helped make that happen. I highly recommend working with her!

    My husband & I had Julie from Strawberry Milk Events plan our French-inspired wedding. She took the time to get to know us and understood our vision. We were very pleased with all the vendors she recommended and the way everything turned out. The whole day was simply beautiful.

    As far as any issues, she sometimes was a bit unresponsive with e-mails and she was usually late for our vendor meetings. The wedding day was pretty chaotic, as expected, but we felt she could've managed the logistics a bit better. Our out-of-town guests also never received the welcome packets that were supposed to be provided.

    Overall we are very happy with how everything turned out and we definitely recommend Strawberry Milk for special events.

    We had fun planning + designing this french country chic wedding and we're so happy that The Knot Magazine's editor reached out to us to feature it in their current (Fall) national fall issue!

    Regarding the welcome packets, unfortunately this was something we never received from the client or were told was our responsibility. Perhaps she had every intention of telling us about them or handing them over to us and she forgot, but this is the first we've heard about welcome packets.

    The forecast was rain on and off the day of the wedding but the outdoor ceremony location was amazing so the bride wanted to chance it - she really was opposed to moving inside. So we pushed the ceremony back a bit to wait it out - so we still setup all the decor outside hoping for the best. However, after waiting 30 minutes past start time and still no sign of rain stopping, we had to get the bride to agree to allow us to reset into our plan B indoor space so the guests didn't get too antsy. Unfortunately in a situation like that, things are always a bit chaotic moving to Plan B at the last minute due to weather (including moving large urns of ceremony floral decor indoors.)

    As far as responsiveness - we have never had this issue....all our other clients say this is one of our best qualities, the promptness with which we respond, so I am surprised to hear that! I do remember one or two scenarios that the bride said she sent an email that we never received...but she was able to resend just a few days later, after figuring out it didn't come through. We are normally able to respond within 24-48 hrs with the exception of weekends we have other weddings or events. I am glad the client was happy overall and would recommend us - we were very happy with the outcome of the event and the national coverage it's receiving!
