  Love Joy & her crew!

  There really aren’t words to thank Joy or Alicia. Like always, she was calm but so skilled and efficient. People could not stop talking about the hair and makeup. My girls looked so beautiful, my mom looked like a queen, and I felt like a movie star. I truly could not have asked or dreamed of more!!

  Highly recommend!

  Joy and her staff were incredible to work with. I planned my wedding from across the country, so their flexibility and prompt communication was so valuable to me. Joy is truly committed to making sure you feel 110% fabulous about your wedding look. Jennifer, who did my wedding makeup was so talented and professional. She was also, just as eager to make sure I felt my best on my wedding day and she nailed it. There is no other team of women I'd recommend more for doing both hair/makeup for your wedding day.

  Joy was very helpful leading up to the wedding: talked me through their process, great at email communication, and made sure we had an itinerary. Tia was our stylist and she was awesome at the hair trial and then even better on the wedding day! My girls and I were SO happy with our hairstyles on the wedding day and Tia was unobtrusive and lovely while doing everyone's hair in the midst of the craziness of getting ready!

  Joy and RheaClare are two of the most fabulous people out there. Working with them was tops on the list of least-stressful events for my overall wedding experience. They are both so kind, caring, professional, and DARN AMAZING at what they do! I felt gorgeous and calm- two very important things on your wedding day! They listened carefully to what I was hoping for and found a way to make my hair and makeup look like my vision! When a few events misfired unrelated to them (very much not of their doing), they both went above and beyond to save the day anyway, giving me enormous peace of mind and restoring my faith in humanity. I wish that I could hire them again and again. You cannot put a price on this kind of goodness.

  RheaClare did an amazing job on all of my bridesmaid's hair and on my hair and makeup for my wedding day. Leading up to the wedding RheaClare worked with me to make sure I was 100% comfortable on everything she planned on doing and helped create a timeline for the wedding day to make sure there was ample amount of time to do everyone's hair and any necessary adjustments. She made sure everyone was happy before leaving on the day of the wedding and everyone's hair stayed put throughout the day and into the night. My makeup looked perfect - it was natural and exactly how I envisioned it! RheaClare was great and I highly recommend her to anyone else looking to have someone do hair and makeup for their wedding or other special events!

  I cannot enough good things about FBJ. They did all of my bridemaids hair and both hair and make-up for my mom, mother-in-law and me. I met Joy a couple of weeks before the wedding, she was kind enough to meet me EARLY on a Saturday morning which I so appreciated since I work near D.C. and didn't have to take off work for my trial hair/make-up. Even though it was super early she was so bubbly and sweet. Totally not awkward at all, I felt at ease and she stopped multiple times to let me look in the mirror and asked me my opinion through every step of the way. On the day of the wedding she brought another member of her team Brandi. They worked so hard and everyone looked GORGEOUS. Everyone's hair and make-up stayed put throughout the night. Which for me is a miracle because I have super oily skin and usually within an hour or two it's melted off my face but the air brush make-up that they used is wonderful and it doesn't make you feel like your wearing a mask of make-up. The lashes that they use is great too typically when I wear fake lashes I can definitely feel the heaviness and the glue clumps and itches but I barely noticed these and they look SO SO NATURAL! Seriously recommend them!!! I also need to mention that Joy responds to e-mails SUPER fast which I really appreciate. Especially when your stressed out about other things for your wedding. Chasing around your vendors for a response is not fun but she was so so quick and thorough with her answers. I just don't know how she does it all, she's Super Woman!

  Joy from Studio FBJ was SUCH a delight to work with for my engagement photo shoot. From my first email inquiry, she was very quick to respond both via email and over the phone. She made me feel like I had just met a long lost friend, and I was very quickly able to explain to her what my vision was for my engagement shoot and what I was hoping to accomplish. Even though my fiance and I were running late the day of the shoot, she was extremely understanding and was very flexible with our tardiness.
  
  During the shoot, her and her assistant gave my fiance and I great suggestions for poses that left us looking like models out of a wedding magazine. Not only did she make us look great, but we also had a blast with her while doing it. When I didn't like how I looked at a particular angle, Joy worked with us to change things so that I would be happy with the image. The quality of her work was spectacular and I was truly blown away by her ability to work with natural light and her talent behind the lens. She was SO flexible and easy to work with. I can't wait to book her for future events!

  I had originally hired Faces by Joy for hair and makeup on the day of my wedding. Joy came HIGHLY recommended to me not only from my wedding planner, but also from a family friend that had their makeup and hair done by FBJ for her wedding.
  
  I scheduled my hair and makeup trial in July and since Joy is a photographer, I asked if she would take some bridal portraits of me since I would be all dolled up anyways. I'm so glad I did. We had such a great time during the hair/makeup trial and the photo shoot. She is incredibly professional but has fun at the same time. She had me do a number of poses, all of which turned out great! The photos that she took were fantastic! It was really hard narrowing down which ones to purchase. I had one printed as a bridal portrait for my wedding.
  
  I got a text from my fiance at one point during our session to ask how it was going. I responded by saying, you're really lucky that we hired Joy because I look really pretty! Joy made me feel beautiful on the day of our trial and made me feel even better on my actual wedding day.

  We hired FBJ to provide on site hair and makeup services for our wedding and I was so pleased with their service! Joy the coordinator was incredibly responsive and flexible to help you find a schedule that works for you. They will make sure you have enough stylists on site for all your wedding party. I loved my hair for that day and my mom and bridesmaids looked amazing too! Their prices are very comparable to other hair and makeup companies in the area but I doubt their service can be beat.
