  I was lucky enough to find Susan through family, and now she has become family herself! I cannot say enough great things about Susan and Jacqui her second shooter. Their talent for capturing emotion is next level. My engagement photos and wedding portraits are so gorgeous, I cannot believe they are actually of me!! Susan even captured amazing photos of our dog that we will forever cherish! On our wedding day, Susan knew exactly how and where to shoot because she had worked at the venue numerous times. She knew all the other vendors which made for a really fun and relaxed atmosphere. Never did anyone feel like they couldn't enjoy our reception because there was a camera in their faces, but they somehow managed to capture the exact feel of the wedding and some of the most beautiful shots I have ever seen of my family and friends. Thank you a million times over to Susan and Jacqui, I can't wait to use them again and again :)

  There isn’t anything I can say that will give Susan Hornyak the praise she truly deserves. She is an all around great person-a true pleasure to work with! For my wedding she brought along Matt Splain. They are a dynamic duo!! They arrived to my home early and started snapping photos immediately! They were so professional and down-to-earth.
  
  Susan was very responsive! I would email Susan and before I could even log-off my computer…I was getting a response! I wish I could give her more than 5 stars for “quality of service” because she truly went above and beyond my expectations!
  
  Most importantly, the photos were absolutely beautiful!! Some photo’s made us cry while others made us laugh. One thing is very clear-Susan Hornyak has a passion for photography!

  I enjoyed both Susan and her assistant Randy so very much. They added to the joy of the day with kindness, flexibility, and professional service. Their ease of setting up photos and fulfilling all of our desired shots made it easier for the entire wedding party and families. I couldn't have asked for anyone better than Susan to be our photographer. Even throughout the planning process, she was available and receptive to my ideas. She continues to be a great resource and friend, and my husband and I are eternally grateful.

  Susan is wonderful and did a great job photographing my wedding with her colleague Randy. The pictures are great and her turnaround time was amazing. We were married on Sunday, by Tuesday several of the best pictures were up on her blog, and by Wednesday she sent us the link to all 600 photos. Not only that, but Susan was always extremely responsive over email and gave recommendations for other vendors in the area. I highly recommend her anyone looking for a wedding photographer in the DC-area.

  Susan was the perfect wedding photographer for us. She helped us feel completely at ease before the wedding day, and shooting the posed photos after the ceremony with her went very smoothly. I had no idea what to expect from the photos as I never saw her or her assistant during the ceremony, and only grabbed her once during the reception to shoot some pictures of my college girlfriends and me. Yet the pictures I got back were incredible. Somehow, unobtrusively, she managed to capture the most beautiful photos of our ceremony. It's a month later now and my memory has faded a bit, but I look at my photos every day and remember how perfect our day was. I could not be happier with the photos.
  
  I had several friends who were married around the same time I was. One waited 4 months for her photos, the other about 6-8 weeks. Susan had our photos on the website within 3 days and the DVD arrived at my house a day or so later.   Excellent photography!
  Susan Hornyak came to us recommended by our wedding planner. We went to a few photographers, and were dismayed by the impersonal service and really cheesy products provided by other firms. When we went to visit Susan, the difference was obvious. She loves photography. She is extremely talented. She cares about what you get, not what she gets out of it.
  
  We're still working with her for our overall wedding photo album, but already we've received our 'magazine copies' of all the photos, and they are all available online for viewing and purchase. We've sent the link to anyone who asks, so they can purchase directly if they wish. We did have some posed family photos early on, before the wedding, but from that point on, she and her assistant were always there, but never obtrusive. I had guests comment later that they really appreciated not being told to 'smile' or 'let's get a group shot!'
  
  The photos are all available in color, b/w or sepia. There are so may great ones to choose from, I am overwhelmed by the selection. I'm looking forward to finishing the wedding album. When interviewing different photographers, one of the things we noticed was that many of these albums looked really generic; almost like a digital version of the 'put the picture into the slot' type of photo albums. Susan's albums were amazingly artistic, with some photos covering the whole of two pages, or a full page, with some insets placed perfectly. These are not just a slap-dash here are the pictures you picked type of album.
  
  When you're looking at photographers, think about what you value most, and ask for that. For us, Susan Hornyak provided very personal and professional service, non-obtrusive photography but still with excellent photos afterwards (not a lot of posed pictures), and an artistic view for our album. She was an excellent match for us, and I would highly recommend her services.

They were never in the way and you didn't have bright lights going off every two minutes. Not only does this make the wedding/reception more enjoyable but it leads to some great candids - GREAT candids - simply because people didn't know they were being photographed and so the captured moments were very 'real'. I could go on and on but you really will be pleased by both the photographs as well as the professionalism of Susan and Randy. Punctuality and quality are essential and they provided both. I would use them again in a second for any event I wanted photographed. 5 stars! :-)

  Susan has a genuine love for her work and insists on quality and perfection in herself and her team. Both she and her assistant (Randy) were "top notch" the day of my wedding, in their arrival, their interaction w/ my family and friends, and capturing exactly the type of photos that are truely wonderful keepsakes of our big day! Susan and I worked closely together on the development and final production of the photo album. She allowed me to work with any number of the templates until I (often times we both were!) pleased with the result. My final comment is this: if you hire Susan to do your wedding photography, this is one area of the wedding ordeal you can rest assured will be handled w/ care, perfection and excellence!!

  Susan was wonderful! She and her colleague Randy were prompt, professional, creative, personable and flexible on our wedding day. They took great photos that chronicled our wedding as well as creative shots that gave our album that extra something.

I had full trust in her skills and management of our photos. We love all our photos and are especially happy to be able to receive the negatives and a CD of our images, just 1 year after our wedding, as agreed. Working with Susan to order copies of the wedding photos for friends and family was very easy to do as well.

  Susan came highly reccomended by another wedding photographer and we were not disappointed. After our first meeting I knew we weren't going to have to worry about a thing -- she and her partner were professional, polite and captured every angle of our wedding, including moments my husband and I missed! After our big day I very much enjoyed working with Susan to select photos for our album, it felt like spending time with a friend. Our photos are gorgeous and the service was exceptional, so much so that we recently had Susan take portrait photos of our son -- they were the highlight of our holiday gifts this year and are still getting raves!

  Susan and her partner Randy were amazing. They are wonderful to work with. I hardly knew they were there. My album is absolutely beautiful. I recommeded them to all of my friends, they did just as great a job for each of them too!

  I believe that it is so important to "click" with your photographer. When my husband and I met with Susan for the first time, it was instant and our search was over. I fell in love with her style and how she captures those special moments. Susan and her team made our day special one we can always revisit viewing our wedding pictures that are beyond amazing!   We had both color and black and white photos taken, and they were all beautiful. Susan was very flexible and willing to work with us to make sure we were able to fit in all of the photos we wanted--from outdoor shots with a view of the DC monuments, to great candid pictures and all of the standard family shots. After the wedding, she turned around our print orders quickly and helped us put together a superb wedding album that accommodated all of our favorite photos and brought together all of the amazing moments of our big day.

  We had both color and black and white photos taken, and they were all beautiful. Susan was very flexible and willing to work with us to make sure we were able to fit in all of the photos we wanted--from outdoor shots with a view of the DC monuments, to great candid pictures and all of the standard family shots. After the wedding, she turned around our print orders quickly and helped us put together a superb wedding album that accommodated all of our favorite photos and brought together all of the amazing moments of our big day.
