What a band, would use them again!
We used SWAY of chicago at my daughters recent wedding. Note this is a true band of the same musicians, vs contract companies which may assemble a band. For rock, pop, a band where the players know each other is best as most of what they play is NOT written down. Anyways. we had a 7 piece band, including 3 vocalists. All I can say is WOW! We would use SWAY again un a heartbeat. Their rendition of "At last" was sung by a women with an amazing set of pipes. Etta james would be impressed. The dance floor was filled until midnight. I received many compliments from the guests on the band's performance. Prices were reasonable (on par with others), and Steve Biossat was easy to work with. Kept the dance floor packed all night!
Absolutely amazing! Hiring Sway for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made. Their performance they kept the dance floor packed all night long. From classic hits to contemporary favorites, their set list was diverse and kept everyone entertained. Not only were they incredibly talented musicians, but their professionalism and enthusiasm were evident throughout the entire planning process. They were so great at being attuned to the vibe of the party and when to play an upbeat or more slow song to catch our breath. Sway truly elevated our special day and made it unforgettable. All of our guests were so impressed and had an amazing time. We can't thank them enough for creating such an incredible atmosphere and helping to make our wedding day absolutely perfect!"Absolutely amazing! Chicago's BEST Wedding Band!!!
If you are looking for an unbelievable wedding band that will get EVERYONE up & dancing, look no further! We had Sway Chicago play our wedding this past weekend, and not only were we blown away by their talent and song selections, all our guests were blown away too! They were truly the best part of our wedding & we could have danced all night long. Gena & Steve were extremely communicative, helpful, and understanding throughout the planning process. The band learned all 3 of our first dance songs - we liked them even better than the originals! We were unsure if we needed an MC - but having an MC was the best decision we could've made - he was flexible, adaptable, and kept all our transitions super smooth. The talent of each member of the band was truly unmatched!! One of my favorite things about Sway was their song selections - though we gave them an idea of what music to play, they really curated a set list that was perfect for the energy of the room. Unbelievable Chicago Band
I can't tell you how many times I heard from our wedding guests, "That was the best band I have ever heard at a wedding". Their voices were insane, the saxophone was stellar, and they really kept the party going without much direction from us at all! This is a smooth, fun, impressive, and kind group of people that will elevate your special day beyond what you can imagine. Incredible wedding band!
Sway Chicago is the way to go for a live band at your wedding! They absolutely killed it and made our wedding unforgettable. Our guests commented over and over again how great the band was. Additionally, they were very responsive, communicative, and helpful in forming our desired playlist and planning all the details. We hired them for both the wedding ceremony as well as cocktail hour / reception, and they nailed the atmosphere for each. Best choice we could have possibly made
The best day of my life would not have been possible without Sway! The band was airtight, they read the room perfectly and executed a perfect setlist, and the dance floor was packed until midnight (on a Sunday!). Kurt was an excellent MC and Steve was very easy to work with on the days leading up to the event. They assisted with the sound for our ceremony, and it went flawlessly. The pianist who performed for our cocktail hour was superb. They were even cool enough to invite myself and my friends on stage to play a song together. Our guests can't stop talking about how incredible Sway was, booking Sway was the best choice we made for our wedding. Thank you!The best day of my life would not have been possible without Sway! Sway made our reception even more amazing than we could have hoped! Guests were on the dance floor all night, and our family keeps raving about how great the vocalists were! Amazing Experience!
We are so happy we chose Sway for our 9/7/19 wedding! Throughout the entire process, the team was incredibly helpful and supportive with any questions we had. The night of the wedding, they were energetic, professional, and absolutely amazing! Everyone we talk to comments on how much fun they had dancing - the floor was packed the entire night. I highly recommend Sway - one of the best decisions we made for our big day.We are so happy we chose Sway for our 9/7/19 wedding! Exceptional Performance!
Sway absolutely blew us away on our wedding night! All of our guests were mentioning how great the band was. Moreover, Steve showed his expertise and class throughout the planning process. A few highlights:
1. We did an east coast style reception and it went extremely well. We had so much fun with the frequent dancing. Steve MC’ed and coordinated well with the catering staff.
2. Our favorite song was Teen Spirit by Nirvana! The drummer killed it just like Dave Grohl did so many years ago. That song will be an everlasting memory.
3. The rest of the music was super fun. There was clearly a lot of energy in the room and a ton of dancing

Amazing dance party with Sway!
Sway was incredible at our wedding on Saturday, August 17, 2019. Marcus and Steve were a pleasure to work with leading up to the big day. They listened closely to what our vision was and what we cared about, and they ensured that they delivered what we wanted and truly brought our vision to life. We ended up doing New York style music, which ensured that the party started right away and the energy level remained high throughout the evening. They learned how to sing the University of Michigan fight song for our official entrance into our reception as “Mr. and Mrs.” This was so special and memorable for us, as we both graduated from Michigan and had been together since our freshman year in college. And our first dance song was so joyful and romantic; we loved dancing to Marcus singing “The Way You Look Tonight.”
From start to finish, they brought the energy and made sure our guests had the best time! The amazing thing about this group is their range across genres, from oldies to new hits, and their ability to “bring it” no matter what. Folks were on their feet all night dancing which is exactly what my husband and I wanted. Many of our guests actually thought Beyoncé and Jay-Z were in the room but no it was just Marcus, Precious, and Janvier nailing every note! I’ve also been told by several guests who are musicians themselves that our guitarist was “shredding” and how they were so impressed by his skills. We’ve received amazing feedback all around which makes us so happy!

Highly Recommend
For me wedding planning was quite daunting. You only get one chance to have your wedding be everything you want it to be. It can be difficult trusting someone with this. Now that my wedding experience is over I can say I’m glad I trusted Steve. He listened to all our wishes, answered all our questions, and delivered everything we wanted. Through the entire wedding planning process he was the vendor I worried about the least. My husband and I first heard about Sway through a recommendation by the Drake Hotel. Upon first contact with Steve we instantly felt like we could trust him. We went to see him and his band perform to a packed room at the Drake. They had the best energy and knew how to play to a crowd. We couldn’t wait for his band to play at our wedding. At the end of the night we got so many compliments on our band. My brother and his fiancé immediately reached out to book Sway for their wedding. I can’t wait to hear them again in August next year!For me wedding planning was quite daunting. Sway is simply the best!
The BEST there is! Steve is absolutely wonderful to work with and the band is truly amazing! They worked with me to customize my wedding music- even writing sheet music for songs we requested! From the strings during the ceremony playing very specific contemporary songs I requested to the piano during cocktails to the second line parade that helped us move people from the dinner room to dancing- they were incredible! My biggest wish for my wedding was a fun party environment and our dance floor was PACKED the entire night! All the musicians are insanely talented and the music selection was varied so people of all ages danced the night way! Cannot say enough great things! We looked at a lot of bands and ultimately hired Sway for our June 2018 wedding at The Langham in Chicago. They were incredible! We are still getting compliments. Steve Biossat was our sole point of contact throughout the planning process and was the utmost professional. He worked with our budget and helped us decide how many pieces we needed (we ultimately went with 9) to make the event what we were hoping for. Steve also helped us staff our ceremony with 2 excellent instrumentalists - piano and violin. The pianist also played throughout cocktail hour for our guests. Steve catered to every annoying question and need we threw at him during the months and weeks leading up to the big day. He helped us pick reception songs for dinner, intros, etc. and provided a DJ so we could play some cultural music for my husbands family.
I'll also note that Sway had one hour to set up in the ballroom during a "room flip" that occurred between the ceremony and reception but they did it with ease and were ready to kill it when the doors opened for our guests. Steve was diligent in managing the sound throughout the night so it sounded great from every corner of the room and making sure our "must play" was covered. An amazing band!!
I would highly (highly) recommend Steve and the Sway band. They were absolutely amazing at the wedding itself, and great to work with beforehand. More specifically, their sound was amazing at the event, and they had range to cover many genre of music for different audiences. And they were very helpful on the front end, with respect to ideas and how to choreograph the entire event. Hiring SWAY Chicago was one of the BEST decisions we made for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding reception at the Drake in Chicago! Our guests are still complimenting us on what a FUNNNN time they had, and how GREAT the party was and how entertaining the band was. We totally agree! (You know it's a great band when the dance floor is still packed at end of the night!)
From the first time we met Steve Biossatt in his studio, he paid such close attention to what it was we envisioned for the night with regard to the music. He really listened! In the months before the wedding, Steve helped with planning and organizing the playlists for the cocktails, dinner and dancing hours that we wanted. (We even had a playlist for the DJ who played between the band sets!) Steve was always prompt in answering our questions and he communicated well with good input about what he honestly thought would work well. He is also really friendly, and very professional. Steve truly collaborated with the bride and groom to play the music they wanted all night long. SWAY even learned to play "their song," so the band could play it live for the couple's dance!
The evening of the wedding, Steve and SWAY really delivered! From the cocktails, through dinner, and right up to the dancing and for the rest of the night, Steve was a super emcee. He kept the timeline for cocktail hour, the champagne parade, food courses, announcements, and special dances all coordinated well with the wedding planner and banquet managers, so that we just relaxed and enjoyed the party. (And, Steve is so professional and kind; it's easy to work with him.) That night, he and the band really made an effort to be personal with our families and our guests, and that made our memories of the reception so special. THEY WERE TERRIFIC!
We really can't thank them all enough!!! Because they are such talented musicians, and played such great music, we had an awesome party! We had Sway play at our wedding and hands down best decision we could have made. From the first conversation to the last Steve was very professional and timely in his responses.Not only is he professional the band is amazing. For the moment the dance floor opened up we had the whole wedding dancing, even some people who usually don't dance. They are very good at reading the crowd and picking songs people like to dance to. Steve and Sway Chicago made our wedding an absolute blast! Steve was very accommodating with some of the "must have" songs we requested, but also had great intuition on what songs to play to make the dance floor come alive. My husband and I stopped several times throughout the night to just look around and take in all the fun everyone was having. We would highly recommend Sway!! I love Steve, he worked with me before the wedding to accommodate all my special requests for songs and a singing guitarist during cocktails. Sway was completely worth the money we spent. I had them play my wedding this past July and they were phenomenal! We couldn’t stop talking about how fantastic they were- which brought me to write this review because my family and I had just been talking about it and now my cousin and best friend who are both getting married next year have decided to go SWAY =) …Other than sounding fantastic (often better than the original recording artists version), the band was alive and kept the party going.
Steve was GREAT! My husband and I both agree that he was the most personable (can’t think of a better word so I had to steal it/agree with a below users comment) of all the band leaders we had met prior to making our decision. He was willing to hear us out (as we had some interesting song requests) and make custom arrangements for us as well; giving us some great suggestions. He went up and beyond! Steve was also a pleasure to work with prior to our big day- he was so organized and flexible; so easy to get a hold of and would respond immediately (as I may have email harassed him with many questions on suggestions- but he was still soo nice about it)!
So to wrap it up cause I can write forever; SWAY CHICAGO is a fantastic band that I will definitely be calling again for any upcoming events in the future. They will go up and beyond to meet your needs and taste in music- from Rock, to Swing, to Jazz, to Soul, to R&B, to Pop- they went through the decades like the pros they are even up to today’s mainstream hits!
