  A beautiful, tasty (gluten-free) cake!

  One of us is gluten-sensitive, so we were so glad that Sweet Cakes Bakery could create this beautiful gluten-free cake, with buttercream frosting and lemon curd filling. All the guests loved it -- including the wheat lovers!

  So amazing to work with and even more amazing desserts. We had a dessert with two types of cake, two types or bars, and cookies. Guests RAVED about the dessert. They were always super easy and nice to work with. I made many changes based on guest counts and indecisiveness and they never hesitated to make the changes or reach out. Reasonably priced. Allowed a tasting where we tried many desserts. The hard part was pairing down exactly what we wanted because everything was so good! Also wanted to surprise my husband with a little Seahawks; we had a very elegant/simple cake to cut which they made blue and green on the inside. My husband and the guests loved it. Highly recommend sweet cakes!!

  We ordered a 3 tiered cake and several cupcakes for our wedding, and were very pleased! It was great to have an amazing, delicious, gluten free (snickerdoodle) cake that no one would have guessed was gluten free! The cupcakes vanished super quickly, and we got so many compliments on the cake. One of my friends' husbands used to bake cakes for a living, and even he was impressed.
  
  The ordering process itself was also great - we met with Susanne (owner of Sweet Cakes), did a tasting, and were sold. We changed our minds a number of times before the wedding, and Susanne was willing to accommodate all of our changes. Susanne was also responsive and helpful throughout the process - I emailed her with a number of questions (e.g. height/width of the cake, delivery logistics, etc.), and she was quick to respond. We also had some special decorations that we wanted on our cake, and Sweet Cakes did a great job of incorporating them.
  
  
  Bottom line - don't hesitate to go with Susanne and Sweet Cakes for your cake and cupcake needs!

  We ordered a three-tier cake and two additional round cakes for our wedding, and were thrilled with how they turned out! We ordered lemon and coconut cakes with lemon buttercream & coconut cream cheese icing, both of which were gluten free (but you never would have guessed, as both were very moist and delicious), so ALL of our guests were able to enjoy dessert. Our guests raved about both flavors, including a few 'best wedding cake ever!' declarations!
  
  Working with Susanne was a very good experience. It was a little tough to get in contact with her at first, as she is not the primary business head at the bakery in Kirkland anymore, and there were some communication breakdowns with the girls working at the counter to get our tasting set up. However, once we got in touch, Susanne was very responsive, flexible, and easy to work with, even through my endless lists of questions, and the pricing is very reasonable for brides on a budget. Upon delivery to our venue, the cakes were absolutely beautiful, she carried out every detail perfectly and I could not have been happier with the result! I would highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a delicious, high quality cake from a local small business!
