Natalie, the wedding point person, was especially helpful in bringing our vision to life with her impressive mix of professionalism and personal responsiveness. We had our wedding on 6/18/2022 and it was absolutely perfect thanks to the staff at the Kimpton Taconic. We worked with Leah, the event coordinator at the Taconic, from our first visit to the venue through the planning process and she was there to make sure everything went off without a hitch on the big day. Leah was amazing to work with, always responsive, accommodating and professional and made sure everything was perfectly coordinated on the day so I could just relax and enjoy it! The venue itself is super quaint and cozy and our guests could not stop talking about how much they loved the hotel. Clean rooms, great service/staff, and a delicious restaurant right on site that caters the dinner for the events. The food was excellent- there was not one bad thing I could say about our experience. Thank you for making our day so special!

I had a 40 person wedding at the Taconic in August 2019, after a short engagement. I cannot stress enough how helpful the staff is here- Melissa, Anastasia and Jamaica made planning my small wedding in under 6 months seem so easy! I had no idea what I was doing, and no real vision for what I wanted, so I appreciated all the suggestions for vendors, officiants, local restaurants, and everything in between.

The FOOD was SO GOOD. We had plated dinner from the Copper Grouse restaurant on site. The hardest part was trying to decide our menu after the delicious tasting meal. Our friends and family raved about the food (for months!)! We brought in our own desserts, and the staff was great with presentation and replenishing as needed.

The personal touches were super as well- prosecco and cheese plate with handwritten notes, top notch room service... I had a minor dress issue in the middle of photos and Jamaica saved the day with some thread and a needle lol. My mother is in a wheelchair and everyone at the hotel was so helpful with making sure she was comfortable, even going so far as changing her room when we realized her chair wouldn't fit.

Literally my only complaint for the whole weekend was that we couldn't get late check out due to some big event in town the next day!

I almost wish I could get married again this year so I could do it all over again at the Taconic. Next best thing will have to a trip back for our anniversary!

We couldn't be happier that we held our Friday BBQ and our Sunday Brunch at the Taconic, and that they catered our wedding next door at The Inn at Manchester Celebration Barn! Although not the cheapest option, the value was incredible. Every detail was taken care of, lots of communication, they worked seamlessly with our wedding venue, and they were all just so darn nice!!! Parley, Melissa, Anastasia, Patrick and crew were fabulous. The food was out of this world across the board. I still have guest raving about the salad of all things - that's how good even the simplest items were! Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I recently got married in Manchester. Aside from our wedding itself, we held all of our other wedding weekend events at Taconic and booked a room block there for our wedding guests. The property is gorgeous, which is obvious to anyone who has ever been there, but what really stands out to me is their exceptional customer service. Working with Melissa and Anastasia was a dream throughout our entire planning process. They were always very responsive and delivered on everything that they promised. When we expressed our concern about going over budget, Melissa was so understanding and worked with us to find solutions that kept us under budget without compromising on the quality of the event. All of our events ran smoothly, the food was delicious and everyone on the staff that worked our events was attentive, thoughtful, and kind. All of my guests raved about their experience at Taconic, and my husband and I were completely satisfied with our experience there. We’re looking forward to visiting Manchester and staying at Taconic for years to come, and we highly recommend the hotel to anyone!

My wedding anniversary is coming up (10.27.18) and I wanted to send a huge thank you to the Kimpton Taconic! We had the PERFECT wedding there and wow, dreams do come true!!! The Taconic is a beautiful venue. It is charming, rustic yet modern, cozy, and warm. I love Kimpton hotels and have stayed at many of them across the country, so when we were trying to find a venue for our wedding in Manchester, the Taconic was my number one choice. The venue itself is wonderful but the Taconic’s staff members are worth more than gold!! From the moment we started communicating with Melissa, working with Melissa was a joy and was so easy because she’s truly a pro at what she does. She was very responsive to all of our questions, accommodating to our requests, and very organized. I had no concerns leading up to our wedding day and especially the day of our wedding because I trusted Melissa and knew that she would take care of everything (and of course, she did so perfectly). Jamaica was also wonderful to work with on our wedding day. I gave Melissa and Jamaica boxes and boxes of things that I wanted to use as decorations for the wedding but didn’t give them too much direction in terms of how I wanted things to look and be arranged. I knew that they’d be able to come up with amazing ideas themselves. They told me to take care of myself and not worry about a thing. They worked seamlessly with the other vendors. Everything looked absolutely stunning and I was all smiles all night!! Melissa and Jamaica really knew how to take care of every detail. Philip, the banquet hall manager, executed everything perfectly. The banquet staff and bartenders were very professional, awesome, friendly; service on our wedding day was impeccable. We had quite a few people with dietary restrictions. The Taconic kitchen was super accommodating, and all the food came out as requested. The food’s absolutely amazing! Our guests raved about how the food was one of the best that they’d ever had at a wedding (they still talk about it). Many thanks to Terrence (who’s so kind!) for all the help he gave us when we’d check in very late at night during our pre-wedding visits to Manchester. Even now, our family and friends keep on telling us that our wedding was one of the best weddings that they have attended!!! That's all thanks to the Taconic staff. We’d say YES again a MILLION times to having our wedding at the Taconic and we look forward to visiting again for years to come.

The Taconic was such a beautiful venue for our intimate fall wedding! The beautiful yard with string lights and trees, the heated porch let us spend cocktail hour outdoors on a slightly chilly day, and the ballroom was very cozy. The staff were lovely, easy to work with, and treated us like royalty for our special day (and the whole weekend as well!). Thank you so much!

We did the escape to elope package. Everything was amazing! The hotel is beautiful and all of the staff are very friendly and attentive, making our stay a very enjoyable one. More so, the florist, the photographer, and officiant were the perfect people to make our ceremony a very memorable one. Our coordinator Melissa Abraham made it all possible. We are very grateful to Taconic for providing us with a ceremony that was even better than we could have envisioned!

I can't sing enough praises of the Kimpton Taconic! They are incredible in every way--true professionals who will take care of every detail. Our original venue went out of business 4 months before our wedding, which was a bride's worst nightmare. But Melissa at the Taconic was just what we needed--she was patient, she was super responsive, and she had a great can-do attitude that gave me hope! We had lost our deposit on the original venue, so our budget was tight. Melissa never made us feel bad about that, and instead helped us brainstorm ways to get us the wedding we wanted. And what a perfect weekend it was.

We had our ceremony, reception, and day-after brunch at the Taconic. The space is immaculately cared for. The ceremony space is right by the road, but we hardly noticed the traffic. And my family loved that the Taconic had little cottages they could rent instead of staying in hotel rooms.

But most importantly, the service at the Taconic is impeccable. I didn't realize how important this was going to be when I was first searching for venues, but looking back, it should have been one of the very first things I asked about. Melissa and Jamaica were insanely organized and proactive about all my wedding details. I didn't have a planner, and didn't need one! During the wedding weekend itself, Jamaica was my personal hero. She ran the rehearsal, coordinated the flower and chair deliveries, stage managed the entire event, made sure we always had something to eat, and kept everything on time. She was always there when we needed her, but never intrusive--she has great poise and reads people well. Moreover, the dinner service from all of the wait staff was amazing.

In the end, I am so thankful that my wedding ended up at the Taconic. These folks are consummate professionals, and they do whatever it takes to make your day flawless. My guests raved about the food. And I was so happy that on the day of my wedding, I didn't have a worry in the world.

Had an amazing wedding at the Taconic Hotel! Staff...EVERYONE was unbelievable from the front desk, bar/restaurant managers, housekeeping, catering/sales managers. They made my family and guests feel at home.
The food was excellent. They have a new Chef and she did a fantastic job. All of our guests raved about her beef brisket.
We went with a buffet for 95 guests and it was perfect. Our cocktail hour was outside and so beautiful-favorite appetizer-Bacon on a stick! We also had late night snacks in the bar and that really made for a fun after-party. If you are looking for a hotel that really aims to please, this is it. A sincere thank you to everyone for your amazing service and hospitality.

Taconic Hotel is the perfect place to get married! Sarah is the best coordinator you could have ever imagined. Thank you!!! My husband and I just got married on July 30th, 2016. The wedding was so beautiful. Everyone at the hotel was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything went beautifully and smoothly. Many of my guests told me after the wedding that they would like to come back to the hotel since everything was so great! Taconic Hotel is a kind of place that might not impress you at first sight, but the longer you stay, the deeper you'll fall in love with. I love the details of the hotel. From the menu of food to the nice book collection in the library, you'll find how much love the staff have put into their services. I contacted Sarah Propester (the catering sales manager) three months ago and then quickly decided that we will have the most important day of our life at Taconic. I could never be any happier with this decision. Sarah was so organized and reliable. She handled everything with great care and made everything so much easier for us. Sarah helped with almost everything; she coordinated with my vendors, responded to my questions promptly, being flexible with all the changes and took care of my family and friends during the stay. I can't say enough thanks to her. Well, how do I end this review. Probably the longest review I've ever written. I'm happy that my husband and I chose Taconic to be the place that means so much to us. And it has become the place we'd like to visit again. We are very looking forward to our anniversary at Taconic next year!

Think about what you want at a wedding venue. Do you want rustic elegance, without being overly pretentious? How about a proactive staff, who will make sure every detail is cared for without you having to fuss about everything? Do you want value for every dime you put into your wedding? Amazing food? Then look no further, you have found your place. The Taconic!

The Taconic Hotel will undoubtedly become one of the top venues for a Vermont Wedding. My husband and I got married at the Taconic this past fall and had an incredible experience. We are local to the area and knew we wanted to get married in our hometown. The wedding coordinator was quick to respond and in less than a week provided a proposal within our budget and accommodating our style.

We recommend doing everything at the hotel - all pictures, ceremony, reception, and after-party. You will love the hotel and so there is just no reason to leave. Ask for a corner room for the bridal suite - its cozy and beautiful w/ a fireplace. Try to avoid major holiday weekends so you can get a better group rate and not compete with tourists for space. And finally, don't be afraid to ask for exactly what you want. This is a Kimpton hotel and they will make every effort to customize your experience. We were initially worried we wouldn't be able to afford the venue and also get the type of wedding details we wanted (ie; elegant but informal dining w/ buffet style but gourmet food, no open bar but instead signature cocktails w/ wine and beer, etc). Also, stay at the hotel and convince your guests to stay there too, you won't be disappointed!

Overall the Kimpton was able to work with us to make our wedding weekend perfect. We got married during a challenging time for the service industry so we encountered a couple of little bumps along the way but overall our wedding weekend was perfect for us!
We started with wanting a small wedding due to COVID regulations and uncertainty of what we would be able to do. They were very flexible in regards to how many people we could invite up until our final numbers were due. The property has many different options for whatever you are looking for (whether dinner on the back terrace, tent in the lawn, partitioned ballroom) and was flexible with changing plans due to weather! The venue and hotel are beautiful— our guests came from across the country and couldn’t stop raving about how beautiful the area and hotel were. The staff (including housekeeping, servers, maintenance) truly went out of their way to make sure our weekend was special and it really did show. We had most of our guests stay at the hotel so it was great to have the porches to congregate throughout the weekend. The happy hour provided by the hotel is a great touch that our guests appreciated and were able to mingle at. The hotel does sell out so try to plan your room block accordingly. We filled up our room block and asked for more rooms but the hotel was unable to accommodate due to being fully booked with other guests.

The Kimpton underwent a lot of staff changes throughout our year of planning so it was difficult to keep track of who the contact people were for different things. We also had trouble with responsiveness from people as we came closer to the event. The staff was very busy but it definitely took numerous e-mails/calls to get answers on things that were pending about our upcoming wedding.
A couple small downfalls/things to take into consideration (might not be a big deal for you)— the appetizers provided in the package was not enough for guests. An hour long cocktail hour with 3 pieces per person is very small. We purchased more appetizers to be served beforehand and it still seemed very light. The premium bar selection does not get you any upgrade in wine/champagne served. It was challenging to serve top shelf hard alcohol with $8 bottle wine options. Also, the venue did run out of premium alcohol half way through the evening (5 hour alcohol open bar) and had to downgrade. When spending more money on something you do expect to be served throughout the evening.

Overall again the Kimpton Taconic was a wonderful choice for us. We had a wonderful weekend and appreciate all the hard work the staff put in to make our wedding perfect for us.
