WOW! I had a magical secular ceremony here. The church was quaint with so much lighting. The simplicity of the backdrop is perfect for a wedding. It is the oldest operating church in Ohio and is well maintained with AC and heat. I had a smaller wedding (81 guests), and the size of the church was perfect as many venues felt too big. More guests could have fit on the upper level which has great views. While the church is located on a busy traffic circle, the logistics were easy peasy as Penny arranged for an officer to help guests cross and access to bathrooms at the nearby Tallmadge Town Hall. Scott was our on-site coordinator for the rehearsal and ceremony. He was so kind and helpful. He even had a suggestion for how the groom could reach his hand while I walked down the stairs which looked so elegant. My pictures are turning out so beautifully as there were many great photo spots (e.g. the church steps, the grounds, the altar, the upper level). Not to mention, the price was very reasonable. This is a great hidden gem of a ceremony venue.

Growing up in Tallmadge, the historic church was the perfect place for our wedding ceremony. We paid the pastor from the First Congregational Church (who used to hold services in the old church) to officiate, and his secretary helped us find his pianist who played during our ceremony. The Tallmadge Parks & Rec staff were very friendly and accommodating - we even changed our rehearsal date/time last minute and they were willing to be flexible. The parking situation isn't the best (11 spaces on the actual "circle,"), there is no running water, and the piano isn't in tune (you can pay to get it tuned), but the Historic Church is a beautiful location and was able to be a perfect venue for our simple ceremony.

The church is amazingly beautiful. Very simplistic more of a New England style church. You can feel the history. Since it was a smaller church it made the ceremony more intimate. I am not a loud person and everyone was able to hear me when giving my vows since we didn't have a sound system. There is air conditioning but no bathrooms. I was able to rent the bathrooms in the town hall in the circle which wasn't much of a problem. They had a podium, flower stands, candles and some tables available. There are two short aisles so I walked up one and then walked down the other. The outside of the church is just beautiful in a park like setting. I put red curl rose wreaths on the front doors which really popped against the white. I did not have to do much decorating. We did have to hire a traffic cop to stop traffic so our guests could get to the church but it was more of a problem for the cars in the circle that had to stop then for my guests. It was really easy to book and Penny really worked with me to schedule my ceremony and rehearsal. If you want beautiful photos and a more intimate ceremony then I highly recommend Tallmadge historic Church

My husband and I decided on this beautiful church the moment we went into it. We were looking for something that allowed us to get married the way we wanted to. We already had a daughter and lived together, so the catholic church was off limits. This non-denominational church allows you to use whomever you want to. Dana is fabulous. She is always there to help with every detail. She has been through a ton of weddings and gives you all the information you need. You do have to employ a tallmadge police officer for traffic control dur to the fact that the church is in the middle of a circle, but it was very minimal in cost. She provided us with information on local officiants, musicians, etc. I had a day to remember there! Our pictures still remain on the church's website!

This is a DIY rental hall, but the city works with you. For an extra $100 we got in the day before our event and had it all set up. We had to clean up afterwards, but so worth it. Large, nice space and a big kitchen. We would rent this again for any large event, birthday, etc
