We held our wedding reception at the Jepson Center for the Arts on March 21, 2015. Every step in the process, from the initial meeting and walk through to the execution of the event, was handled with professionalism. The booking process is straight-forward, with no hidden fees or charges, and we were even able to use some of the furniture in the museum (benches, high boys, etc.) during our cocktail hour, which cut down on rentals. The Jepson maintains a list of recommended vendors, and Allison Hamilton, manager of special events, made very helpful recommendations. She was prompt and courteous in responding to questions. Because it is a museum, there are some restrictions (i.e. no open flames), but they are manageable. The museum is a spectacular venue for special events. We enjoyed it, and our guests did as well. I would recommend it to other brides and event planners.

We definitely splurged for our reception sight, but I have no regrets. The Jepson Center for the Arts is modern, elegant and has breathtaking views of the square. While eating dinner, hearing speeches, and dancing we were able to overlook the trees and the beauty of Savannah in the fall. Absolutely beautiful!

We had our reception at the Jepson Center for the Arts, the newest museum of the Telfair Museums. The Jepson is a beautiful all white space with a 3 story wide staircase and huge windows. Jessica and Christina were so helpful throughout the planning process. We saved money on rentals by using the tables at the Jepson and renting chairs. I would highly recommend this venue for a reception for under 150 people, especially if you want some elegant and modern.

Jessica was very helpful in organizing the wedding day events. It was like having a "day of" wedding planner. She kept everything moving along smoothly and on schedule. She was also easy to work with and exceeded our expectations.

Absolutely gorgeous location. We had the cocktail hour in the front lawn, and it was a perfect setting for a beautiful fall evening. The reception worked beautifully, we had 80 guests for dinner and dancing, and the size was just right.

We had our wedding reception at the Telfair Academy which was absolutely beautiful. We worked with Savor Savannah Catering and the whole night was wonderful! Anne Bone at the Telfair and Ashley Field at Savor Savannah worked seamlessly together to coordinate the table placement, linens, food, etc. They were both very helpful with other vendor suggestions and accommodating our wants & budget. We would highly recommend working with them both.

We had our ceremony and reception at Jepson Center of the Arts. The building is beautiful and the architecture makes for wonderful photos. The glass ceilings and walls are breathtaking and will definitely be a conversation piece for your guest. Jessica was very helpful and she really tries to help you get the most out of the venue. She is responsive and eager to please. Hosting your wedding at this venue will require a lot of work. Keep in mind that you will need to hire outside vendors for everything. You should definitely budget for a full service planner, not just a cousin that knows how to get things done, but a full service, big beautiful website, overpriced planner :-). Since this is a museum, there is not much flexibility. Open flames, rice throwing and bubble blowing are prohibited. The space layout is also a bit constricting. All in all, this place was a perfect fit for me and my hubby. We were looking for something unique and modern. Although there isn’t much room to customize your experience, Jessica and her team of preferred vendors have mastered overcoming the venue's challenges. I loved my wedding!

Such a beautiful venue. They are pricey and you can only use their list of vendors. And the times are very specific about use of the building. Didn't work for us.

    Telfair Museums's reply:

We now allow any vendors to use our space with a one hour site visit before the event.

I had my wedding reception at the Telfair Academy. I am giving our venue such a poor review due the horrible communication the Telfair failed to provide as well as the abomination of professionalism.

The venue is beautiful, we used the downstairs Sculpture Gallery for cocktail hour and the upstairs Rotunda for the dinner reception. Our planner was Posh, Petals and Pearls- fabulous and amazing to work with. When we booked the Telfair 1.5 years before our wedding, the Telfair event coordinator at the time told us the round couch that you see in so many of the pictures could be divided and moved from the center of the room to create space for the dance floor.

That event coordinator left and the turnover for that position was so frequent that we never had a person of contact, my parents and I would leave messages and never receive calls back for the questions that we had. It was so frustrating and unprofessional.

Then in June 2016 a full year after we paid the deposit! The new coordinator lost our contract and almost booked our venue to someone else, I got a heart attack of an email while I was at work asking if I “wanted to send a deposit to secure the Telfair for our date, since we are penciled in” this was a year after we already sent in the $1,500! Good thing we had the receipt and copy of the contract to resend to their office.

On the wedding day, my other vendors did the most amazing job transforming the museum into the wedding of my dreams, the Telfair coordinator “forgot” to tell me that the ugly round couch could no longer be moved due to a structural issue with the floor. So my reception had our band with a hideous huge couch right in front of it. They also won't allow any dancing upstairs soon, only downstairs so keep that in mind. Had more issues, not enough characters for this review box.
