    THIS BAND WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR WEDDING!!! This is a very belated thank you for making our music everything we wanted it to be at our wedding. Aaron of Lucy Music took such amazing care of us and dealt with our extremely particular music tastes. It was SO important to us that our wedding band was truly a band whose music was quality, just like a band you would become a fan of from hearing them on the radio. My now husband (yahoo) is a musician and has complete respect for each member of the band's musicianship and performance. WE CAN'T THANK YOU ENOUGH! I highly recommend this band. The cherry on top was that they ended the night with "Sleep Walk" - not a request from us, but true to our musical tastes, as the band clearly figured out from the requests we did give. It was such a pleasant and romantic surprise. Truly a wedding band for NYC musicians who are getting married :)

    My dude hired Ryan and Christina to play a song at my graduation party which turned out to also be an engagement party! Their killer take on David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance” was the perfect kickoff for what was yet to come. When the time came to find a band for our nuptials, went to a showcase at The Bell House in Brooklyn. There was a three-piece band in the front that yanked us away from the bar with their take on Prince's "Kiss." Holy crap, only Prince could have done a better job. It was so tight. We knew that was our band. And, it turned out to be Ryan at the mic!

    Leading up to the big day, Aaron was in touch through the whole process. Alan was awesome, too—even tried to accommodate a song request so I could sing to my guy. All-in-all communication was great. Now, to the meat of the thing:

    THEY EFFING ROCKED THE WEDDING. They are such good musicians. The lineup was perfect and the energy was non-stop. I've never heard anything like their tremelo picked/surfer style Hora. Seriously, even if you're not Jewish, DO IT.

    If you're looking for something more than the traditional "greatest hits" wedding band... if you're looking for more than just music, but a performance... if you're looking for a band that can get both your college buddies and your Great Aunt Helen on the dance floor... BOOK THE AFFECTIONS. I'm so glad we did.

    Above and beyond the best wedding band we could have asked for. As music lovers, a rocking wedding band was very high up on our wish list - these guys came through without fail - we are still getting texts from relatives telling us it was he best wedding and wedding band they have ever heard! Look no further - you are in great hands here. They take their tunes seriously and are no cheesy wedding band. They rock the house. You are in for a fun, memorable night of moving and goovin with these guys! Communication is great - seriously A+++ all around.

    Every wedding guest danced all night long - best wedding band! They performed at our reception and ceremony.

    The Affections were, hand down, the best wedding band I've ever heard or experienced at the many, many weddings I've attended. If you're looking for a band that is incredibly, musically talented and not-your-typical wedding band, hire the Affections.

    From the cocktail hour through the duration of the wedding, the music was incredible! We regret having our wedding photos taken during the cocktail our because we missed 45 minutes of their music!

    We received more complements than anything on the music from our wedding. Before the show even started, we began getting complements on the music just from the sound check!

    The Affections play all the great tracks from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's that you love and may not normally hear from your run-of-the-mill wedding band. At our wedding, they played Soul, Motown, R&B, Classic Rock, 80's favorites, and much more. Couldn't have played a more eclectic selection of music to please the crowd of all ages!

    To top it off, they were willing to learn some new songs for us, including our first dance, which no one had heard previously, but everyone absolutely loved! We're all looking for the recording so we can re-live the night.

    The Affections gave an amazing performance on our wedding day! The band was absolutely perfect, making our wedding the best we've ever been to!

    Christina's violin playing during the ceremony was beautiful. The groom's mom was totally blown away by her great voice.

    Everyone partied down when Tom played and sang "Let's Dance" by David Bowie. It's so great he lives in our building!

    Bill, your drumming definitely got the room going! Filipinos love dance parties with a good beat!

    It was easy to organize and communicate with Aaron as we planned everything. It was so great meeting you and we're glad you were able to come! I know we had our hearts set on dancing outside, but having everything inside created a more intimate experience and allowed the bride's aunt, uncle and cousin dance down the stairs!

    We unfortunately didn't get to meet the keyboardist, bass player, other guitarist, or sound engineers, but they all kicked total ass! These guys for played their hearts out on our special day.

    All throughout the night and the next morning at breakfast, all of our guests mentioned how great the Affections were. One of them even said "This band is good...like too good!" Another wanted to get her picture taken with the singer, and an older gentleman said this is one of the best live bands I've seen in a long time. They were also some folks that wanted your set list!

    It was so incredible to get to know and work with the Affections. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for making our wedding a magical experience and a rockin' good time!

    The Affections were fantastic. They made the party. We would recommend them to anyone looking for a talented, cool band that plays great songs you won't always hear at every other wedding.

    The chants of "one more song, one more song" at the end of the last set pretty much summed up how much our friends and family really loved the Affections. They were the perfect pairing for our vision of the night, plus the venue too (Alder Manor, NY). We picked a bunch of our favorite songs from their extensive funky and off-beat list and the rest was history. The bride even sang a song with the band - 'Pinball Wizard' - which really sealed the deal. And they were great during the Ceremony and Cocktail hour too - very groovy. The whole night people were like, 'who are these guys? they rock!"

    At the risk of looking like a spam review, I literally only have awesome things to say about The Affections. Instead of a traditional wedding band, we were looking for a band that happened to play weddings. They were it. The most important thing to look for in picking vendors is people who genuinely have fun doing their jobs--The Affections seemed to be having as much of a blast as we were.

    Plus, checked all the expected boxes: easy to reach, easy to schedule, totally flexible and knowledgeable about what would get people dancing/how to structure the night's flow to keep energy high, and were willing to learn our favorite songs.

    All that and they are pretty smart dressers.

    Everything from The Affections, from the beginning of the wedding process to the end, was flawless. They are so wonderful to work with them and I would enthusiastically recommend them to anyone and everyone.

    The ceremony, cocktail and dinner sets were fantastic, and really cool, and the dance music was unbelievably good. So many guests came up to me throughout the night and said the obvious: best music they've ever heard at a wedding, but what I really loved to hear was how blown away they were by the tremendous talent of every person in the band. They are such spectacular musicians, and we felt extremely lucky to have then there with us.

    I also really appreciated that they agreed to learn a few songs for us, and they performed these songs so beautifully, it was as if they'd been playing them for years. As an added bonus, they are lovely people to work with.

    Ryan and Christina (of the Affections) were an absolute pleasure. I needed a very specific playlist for my event and they were able to accommodate all of my requests. I would definitely book them for a future party!
