    Our wedding was perfect!

    I cannot praise The Alida enough!

    We got married on 8/12/23 at The Lost Square. We had only a couple of months to plan everything and the team could not have been more kind and helpful, and the event couldn’t have turned out more beautifully. The venue was absolutely stunning.

    Jessica Mathis was our wedding coordinator. She was super communicative and helpful throughout the entire process and helped relieve so much of our stress.

    I am so grateful we had our wedding here. We will certainly be returning for anniversaries!

    Friendly staff, delicious food, great views

    The Alida was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. Jessica was super helpful and so accommodating when planning the wedding. The views of downtown Savannah were gorgeous and the food was excellent! All of our guests were so impressed by the meal. Rachel Matte (Banquet Manager), Creed Mixon (Bartender), Jay McClain & Jordan Weeks (Servers) all were incredible and made our day so special! We also were able to enjoy the Lost Square to celebrate with friends and it was the best atmosphere with great drinks and they had a DJ one night. I highly recommend choosing the Alida for your wedding venue, you won't be disappointed!

    Our Wedding Welcome Party was a Dream on The Alida Rooftop!

    I have been a frequent guest of The Alida Hotel + their restaurants for many years now, and was so thrilled for the opportunity to host our wedding welcome party on their rooftop in May 2023. I knew it was going to be beautiful after my experiences at Alida previously...but it was far more than I ever could have anticipated. The process of selecting our menu and planning our event could not have been easier, the communication was always timely (they were one of our ONLY wedding vendors that we could trust would ALWAYS respond when they said they would) and the event itself was above and beyond what we imagined. The team at Alida worked so hard to make sure every detail was beautiful, the food was out of this world and they even went as far as to help consolidate our belongings afterwards and ensure guests were where they were supposed to be. From views to food to service to decor...we can't recommend Alida enough!

    Destination Wedding Dream

    We didn't fully commit to a destination wedding until we found The Alida! The Alida has many pros as a destination wedding venue: a hotel with all of the amenities for out of town guests, all-inclusive which meant no rental items or outside caterer required, and most importantly, a perfect location to show off the beauty of Savannah. What sealed the deal for us was their Southern fare menu and having a ton of social media content/online photos to help us really visualize how our day would go.

    From the beginning, Lucas and Jessica were very responsive to our questions and concerns. We were able to book our menu tasting and first look at the venue 6 months out from our wedding date due to our travel schedule. We asked for a specific local beer to be served and this was handled month out from our date as well. Even a last minute request for a signature cocktail was handled with ease! We appreciated this flexibility and really made us feel assured going into the big day.

    Now to the wedding day itself, let's start with the downside: there were things we did not realize would be challenging due to having our wedding at a hotel. Things such as needing multiple room keys for the wedding party, having to assist vendors when they used the elevators because they would not operate without a key, and on top of all that, the room keys would not work if you were trying to access a different floor. This was a huge pain due to our room block/bridal suites being on multiple floors and all of the room keys looking identical. Overall, this created a lot of stress and frequent trips downstairs having to assist people which we simply weren't anticipating. On one hand, I'm glad these security measures are in place and they're usually implemented at most hotels, but please keep that in mind while planning because it was not on our radar at all.

    Let's get to the good part! We had the misfortune of rain IMMEDIATELY prior to our ceremony. While we were trying not to panic, The Alida crew already had a game plan to dry off the seats and set-up everything again for the 20 minute break in rain, this was absolutely invaluable to us! They were able to pull off a quick ceremony and make it back inside before the rain poured again. Even more impressively, the rain cleared up in time for us to go back outside after dinner and the Alida crew didn't bat an eye with this flip!

    Our guests still talk about the delicious food that was served, the epic views from the rooftop, and the friendly staff they met throughout the night. And for that, we cannot thank The Alida enough for hosting our wedding and helping create cherished memories from our special day!

    Incredible Venue!

    I have worked over 100 weddings in the United States and this is easily one of the nicest venues. Such a great place for an event. The district that the venue is in is also one of our favorite areas. Highly recommend!

    Book this venue right now

    Ellie and her team made our wedding day absolutely perfect! Ellie was a dream to work with, always answering my millions of questions and seamlessly coordinating our day. We got married on the rooftop of Harper's Terrace, ate dinner in Harper's Gallery, and had our reception in the Lost Square rooftop bar. We celebrated with our 46 closest friends and family and the space was absolutely gorgeous. We got so many compliments on the venue and food (we had a soft pretzel bar!) from our guests. I cannot recommend this venue and Ellie enough, she made our wedding such an easy and unique experience!

    Beautiful!

    The Alida and all their amazing staff pulled off our day amazingly. Ellie is an INCREDIBLE asset and was there for my every need or question. Well worth the investment.

    Amazing experience !

    My husband and I had our wedding at the Alida hotel in October 2021. Let me start off by saying Ellie made everything so smooth and stress free and beautiful! She was quick to respond and quick to make any changes that needed to be done (even day before the wedding adding an extra vendor meal) the entire hotel was amazing too though! We last minute had a rehearsal get together at the Trade Room , recommended by Ellie and the staff at the trade room was so friendly and nice even in a last minute larger gathering.

    I can’t recommend the Alida hotel enough to celebrate your wedding. The hotel is super cute itself, we got so many compliments just from guest checking into their room saying how cute it was but the rooftop adds such a beautiful touch for wedding photos.

    The day of our wedding it was raining on and off and we had to have our wedding inside. Ellie knew how much I wanted if on the rooftop and last min changed the tables in the reception area (harpers gallery) to get the arch inside so you can still get the rooftop vibes by looking out all of the windows.

    I highly suggest your wedding at the Alida as Ellie and the entire staff make you feel so welcomed and relaxed upon arrival ( or before if planning your wedding)

    The Alida is beautiful!

    We had our small mini-mony at the Alida after several failed plans (yay-2020 wedding planning). The hotel is GORGEOUS and Ellie is super sweet and very responsive. She was quick to respond to my email about keeping the cake chilled at the hotel less than 24 hours from the ceremony. Our food was excellent and the bartenders were the sweetest on our day. Also, the rooftop bar has amazing drinks and the best view. They even went into our room to drop off a bottle of champagne and 2 champagne flute.

    I will say there was a few hiccups, but the staff was always quick to respond and help out which is why I am giving them 5 stars still. The biggest hiccup was on the day of our checkout (the day after getting married). A member of the cleaning staff knocked on our door one time and immediately entered the room at 8 am. We didn't even have time to say anything before they opened the door. We felt extremely uncomfortable and super fortunate that we were both dressed and already awake. The cleaning woman came in to ask if we were ready to check out. I was stunned - if we were ready to check out we would have been down at the front desk checking out and we still had 3 hours. This has nothing to do with the Alida events team and I would never hold this against them - I just thought it was something I had to mention considering it was extremely uncomfortable.

    We had stayed at the hotel 3 weeks before our wedding and stayed in a beautiful room with a daybed looking over the river and a vanity (which is perfect for a bride getting ready!). However, when we checked in for the wedding weekend we got stuck in probably one of their worst rooms. It was a corner room and was half of the size - which was a huge problem since we had a TON of stuff for the wedding, it had no day bed - so there was no room for my bridal party to get ready, and no vanity. I was super disappointed especially after staying there previously. However, my husband went down and asked if they were able to switch our room and they did promptly.

    We were also supposed to have a staff member serve our shrimp and grits station - but we ended up not having anyone to serve. We weren't charged for the person and it would have honestly been unnecessary so we definitely weren't upset at all about it.

    A hidden gem with an all star team and mvp ellie!

    The Alida hotel and its team of experience creators are by far the greatest in history! When it comes to the hospitality industry and the overall venue/wedding planning experience they are truly unmatched! This team of all stars is led by Ellie Tumlinson who knows how to make literal magic happen!

    We booked the Alida 90 days out from our wedding. To most, that would seem like not enough time to plan and coordinate everything that you might need to pull of an incredible event. But let me tell you, Ellie and the Alida staff (from the valet to the chefs and to the serving staff) made that task seem like an easy afternoon stroll.

    Every request we had was met with a resounding 'yes, we can do anything you want.' Ellie was so organized, responsive, and easy to get a hold of leading up to and during the event. Not to mention an absolute joy to be around and spend time with.

    Just one example of how Ellie and the Alida team take care of you like you're family: "THE SPRITZ STORY!"
    Our signature wedding cocktail was an Aperol Spritz. We arrived in Savannah the weekend before our wedding and when we visited various bars/restaurants around the city we were told they were out of Aperol and that there was a shortage of Aperol in the south east. Concerned, we reached out to Ellie the next day thinking that we would need to select another cocktail and her response was 'oh don't event worry, i've known about the shortage for weeks and we have been hoarding Aperol for the last month. Rest assured for your wedding, the Aperol will be flowing!" And it was, she even handed us spritzs after we walked out of our ceremony (no lie check out our photos)!

    The Alida hotel seems to fly under the radar and it is truly Savannah's hidden gem. This hotel has everything for your guests, out of town and local alike: gorgeous decor and aesthetic, easy to get to, loaded with amenities, walkable to everything, and more. The rooftop venue and ballroom is a perfect place for weddings and receptions. They even allow pets to stay in the hotel and attend the event! We were able to have our dream wedding with our dog at the ceremony and reception. The venue is so beautiful on its own that we barely needed any decorations.

    We held our welcome night at the lost square, the wedding ceremony and reception on the rooftop and ballroom, and the following day had a burger bar set up at the library bar by the pool followed by a pool party which the hotel loved!

    The Alida should be your location of choice whether its a one night stay, birthday party, or wedding! Ask for Ellie and just know that you're in good hands.

    Perfect Venue!

    We got married in Savannah Monday, June 21st. Given we live in Boston, we had to book everything remotely and most things, sight unseen! As you can imagine, there was a little apprehension and nervousness around this!

    To that end, we did a lot of online research to find the right venue for us. Given the pandemic, we decided to find a place with a private room. My husband came across the Rhett within the Alida and our experience was incredible!

    We connected with Ellie Tumlinson who was super responsive! She was also very flexible and adaptable! We had so many questions and made several changes to the menu and the types of food we were looking for. We liked the items that were already on the menu, but we have dietary restrictions and preferences. I.e., no gluten, no cheese, no meat (fish and eggs are okay), etc. Pretty complicated, right? Yet, none of these flustered Ellie in the least! Not only did she work with us to make the changes, every single thing was right! I should also mention, I had requested a special champagne and she was able to get it. AND just a few days before the event, I emailed Ellie (totally last minute) with a special request for my husband. It wasn't something she had on hand, but nonetheless she was able to get it, no problem. When we arrived, it was chilled and beautifully presented on our table!

    When we arrived for dinner, Rachel Matte greeted us. She was also fantastic! We felt like we had known her for years! She was so warm and we were immediately comfortable with her. Rachel has a really warm demeanor and is very professional. At all points, she had everything under control. It was fantastic! We didn't have to worry about a thing. Champagne was chilled and the glasses (we had dropped off Tiffany's flutes earlier in the weekend) were set! Everything looked beautiful and Rachel was on top of all of it.

    One thing I will mention is when we arrived, we were late and starving, so my husband asked Rachel to put the apps in and get started with drinks. There was a spot around the corner, where we wanted to get more pictures. We ate and drank, left for more pics and then came back and Rachel had the entrees ready to go. Nothing flustered this woman and she didn't miss A BEAT!! So grateful for this!!!! Her timing was impeccable!!!

    Lastly, the food was awesome and the room was so nice!!! We loved it. We hope to be visit again when we head back to Savannah for our one year anniversary trip!!

    Fairytale Elopement, in a week,with special diet accommodations . Ellie works miracles!

    Amazing staff and a beautiful venue.Ellie and the Alida team made our fairytale come true! Not to mention with a time frame of ONE WEEK! PLUS did I mention they were able to offer a complete Gluten free menu to accommodate me? I have Celiac and so that was a must , and all my guest was overwhelmed by how delicious the food was while staying all gluten free. Best decision we made was reaching out to Ellie and wouldn't change a thing. She was so quick with responses and so sweet ,very genuine and honestly puts her heart into every wedding! She helped me keep calm under the pressure of a last minute elopement and was so helpful and did everything she could to relieve the stress ! The guest rooms are so spacious and well kept. The food impeccable. The service out of this world honestly I could rant all day on the team of ladies that made our day so amazing and continue to count all the ways how ! You will not regret booking with the Alida!

    Ellie- our wedding angel

    I honestly do not even know where to start with this review. Ellie and her team deserve more than 5 stars and my words could ever express how talented she is. My husband and I knew that we were going to have a small elopement/micro wedding but still wanted it to feel like a traditional wedding. Ellie from the start made me feel like everything I wanted could come true despite our wishes for a “chill brunch wedding”. She was transparent about pricing, extremely speedy with her replies and extremely accommodating to meeting with us on our last minute trips to Savannah so we could plan our layout and just go over details I had been thinking of. Ellie treated us like family! I truly don’t think I’d trust many people to take all the decor I had thrown into a box and put it together into our dream wedding brunch the morning of. She even rearranged the entire rooftop due to rain and left igloos set up for us which made for a cozy hangout spot for ourselves and our guests. I truly didn’t have to stress about one thing- everything was done for us and beautifully arranged. She was so thoughtful and helpful throughout the entire process. My husband and I keep saying “wow, I wish we could redo that entire day over again” and most of that we owe to Ellie and her team. If you are looking for a place to have a beautiful and stress free wedding, whether large and traditional or small and “relaxed” like ours- The Alida is your place! You will never regret it.

    Lovely Hotel

    The Alida was a lovely hotel and I'm so glad we were able to offer our guests a block of rooms there. The staff was wonderful and attentive and booking the block and the wedding suite was easy peasy. The suite was perfect for the ladies to get ready in. Plenty of space for our snacks drinks, lounging, professional hair and makeup setup, and lounging. We also kind of took over the public bar upstairs after our rehearsal dinner. It was the perfect setting for out of town guests to meet up and have a few drinks.

    Get married here!

    I had to plan my wedding in less than 45 days and I am eternally convinced that Ellie at The Alida was an angel placed in my path because she made it the EASIEST, most EXCITING, ENJOYABLE experience ever. This hotel not only smells like MAGIC in the lobby (I really mean it, go smell it), but the staff were a dream! Our entire family and many other wedding guests stayed on-site and we all had the best experience. The beds are softer than clouds, the event space is gorgeous, the rooftop left us speechless, and Ellie and Rachel both gave us the most incredible, unforgettable day EVER. The food... I don't even have words. No one could stop talking about the food OR the bartending! I enjoyed absolutely every single second of our wedding. Every email sent, every question asked at random hours of the night, or on any day of the week was answered by God-send Ellie. I cannot express my gratitude enough to the entire staff at The Alida, from accounting to events, front desk staff to housekeeping; just, get married here already. You WILL NOT regret it. Thank you to everyone at The Alida (especially you guys Ellie + Rachel) for being apart of the greatest week and day of our lives!

    Get married here! It's beautiful and the food was delicious!

    This was the perfect place for us to get married! I can't say enough amazing things about Ellie and the entire Alida team.

    To make a long story short, we were supposed to get married on 4/4/20, but had to make new arrangements due the to the pandemic. Two wedding reschedules later, we finally got our dream day on 4/17/21!

    Everything was absolutely perfect!! We even signed our contract on this venue without visiting and it's even more amazing in person. The views are gorgeous, the venue feels very upscale, and the whole Alida staff makes everything SO easy.

    We were even super worried about the potential for rain and Ellie had a full plan for us all set-up and ready to roll. But thankfully, the weather held off!

    If you're on the fence about booking here, I have one thing to say: do it!!! You absolutely won't regret it! I'm even kinda sad about it all being over, just because I won't get to email all the time with the best crew at the Alida. Thanks y'all!

    A brunch wedding dream!

    From the employees to the rooms and the hotel and venue itself everything was wonderful! Ellie was a lifesaver helping me plan a destination wedding during a pandemic!! Everything was what I wanted and more! If this venue is something you’re considering DO IT!

    So accommodating!

    They work so well with guests and even better with wedding clients! So clean and nice this venue is so cute overlooking the river.

    Class and Elegance on the Savannah Riverfront

    The Alida is a brand new boutique hotel in downtown Savannah (historic district) - just opened in Nov 2018. One of Mariott Bonvoy's boutique locations, it has the unique feel of a luxury hotel, but all of the large brand perks known to Marriott (it would have been a Ritz Carlton location before Marriott purchased them). The design is on point - retro Gatsby-ish roaring 20s details with modern streamlining and impeccably selected materials. While short on closet space, the Alida is large on class, high end extras, and quality experience all around. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating to all guests and went above and beyond to help us out with our destination wedding. From refrigerating the cake and flowers at the last minute to a panicked request for an ironing board and iron when my husband's dress shirt wrinkles just wouldnt budge even with the great steamer they provided, the Alida helped us out and always with professionalism and a smile. The hotel restaurant, the Rhett, has a small menu, but everything on it is deliciously prepared (try the warm Ricotta appetizer!). The rooftop bar (the Lost Square) is also a hip little relaxation spot with a great view of the city. Great drinks, comfy couches, and perfectly situated fireplaces for those chilly Savannah evenings. Also, when we found ourselves rained in on our wedding night, the group at the Alida bar stepped right in as our surrogate wedding goers, buying us rounds of drinks and sharing our wedding cake. It was a fun, classy, and memorable experience in a perfectly situated location with excellent accommodations.

    Great Wedding- Finance department needs improvements

    Jessica and Lucas were great!! You can trust them to make sure things run smoothly the day of. Our wedding turned out very well thanks to them. The operations team was great, as well. They were organized and efficient.

    We rented out the entire rooftop for our wedding/reception.

    We ended up having 85 of us total. The venue said only 75 could fit seated in the ballroom but we decided to try to make it work. It was a little tight, so I would recommend listening to the experts and sticking to 75! The food was amazing. All of our guests said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. We were able to fit a full band on the rooftop with plenty of room for a dance floor. I was worried about it feeling separate/not having a good flow, but that wasn’t an issue at all. It was overall a great space.

    We also had a brunch the next day on the rooftop. Again, the food was amazing and the space was beautiful. The wait staff/bartenders for both events were very nice and accommodating.

    Our main issue was with the finance department. We had issues with them throughout the whole process. We had 2 events wedding and brunch and 2 separate people were paying for these. They lost proof of payment for the brunch and ended up charging the wrong person the full amount. They also didn’t give warning before charging credit cards (which was specifically requested). They were difficult to get in touch throughout the 10 month process. When dealing with tens of thousands of dollars, you expect more organization. Our wedding was 2 weeks ago and we are stilling dealing with issues with the finance department.

    Almost all of our guests that stayed at the hotel had some issue with their room reservation. The hotel did not have record of our room for the day after our wedding and kept trying to get us to leave. It was very frustrating to deal with as newly weds. As a Marriott, you expect a different quality of service/organization and this hotel doesn’t have that yet.

    Overall, the wedding day went smoothly and everything was beautiful. My husband says he would recommend the venue to a friend, but I can’t say I would with the way that money was mishandled. If they figure that out, it’s a great venue.

    The Staff Needs An Improvement

    I originally booked when Ellie was still there. She was the reason we booked the venue. She was amazing to work with. Over 12 months of planning, we had a total of 4 venue coordinators. None of our notes were passed on to the next. The tasting was one of the weirdest experiences I have ever had. Honestly it was a complete mess. I was expecting to try the food and we got to try mostly just the protein and a vegetable. We had no idea what fregola was and expected to try it at the tasting. Food was good but they put one plate of food in front of 4 people to share.

    For the wedding itself, I would not recommend. They clearly didn’t vacuum from the wedding the previous night. The staff blamed it on confetti when it was clearly food. During the reception the staff was eating food put out for the guests in front of the guests. When my planner asked them to stop they gave her attitude. Brought this to the Alida attention the next day and then got a half ass apology. The day after the wedding we realized we had cards missing from our card box. It was confirmed an employee from the Alida stole the cards with money. The hotel reimbursed us the money, but it took the finance department two times to give us back the correct amount.

    The hotel room we spent the night was great. They had someone deliver a mini fridge for us, but they plugged it into an outlet controlled by a light switch. We lost all the food we had leftover from the wedding since it was never cooling.

    Lastly, the finance department is a joke. Took over a month to have them charge a card for payment. Jessica and Lucas were nice to work with. Although the space itself was gorgeous overall it was a frustrating experience. After a few months we now laugh about it but we would never recommend someone having to go through it. Maybe things have gotten better.

    They are Lost without Ellie

    Huge change in level of service with Ellie’s departure. She was AMAZING. Her replacement never once took the time to introduce herself to us prior to our wedding, even when we were at the hotel a half a week prior. The food was terrible, my own grandfather said it was better fit for a trash can. The servers were fantastic until “the replacement” showed up and stopped the party. All I can say is, maybe it was a great place to be married a year ago under Ellie’s stewardship, however, brides beware now. Major disappointment if it weren’t for the other amazing vendors we had. They forgot our signature drink (included in the package), and when I requested information on where to find my left over desserts for our after party - not a single person was willing to help me. Also! We were told our suite would be refreshed prior to us returning, and it was in the state we left it in. Not even a made bed or a new towel. Literally the least amount of service, the bottle of champagne they left us on our wedding night had our names misspelled on the envelope and the wrong couple entirely on the note. I could go on, but I’ll stop so you believe this review.
