  What a STUNNING property! The Baker House holds so many treasured memories in my heart and it all started last December. My boyfriend took me to tour the Maxwell Mansion and visit the Baker House as future venues for our wedding. Little did I know, he was going to propose in the Baker House once the tour was over. It was magical and I was blown away at the beauty of everything!! We knew that this was where we would say “I do” in October of 2014. We locked in October 11, 2014 and was able to secure our ceremony at the Baker House!
  The Baker House is immaculately decorated and kept in the most pristine condition. From the décor, to the glassware to the unique tables, it offers such a variety of vintage touches. The food at the Baker House is absolutely delicious! Each dish is made with love and consideration and you can tell it’s all made from scratch and from recipes that are unique. Their pretzel bites are to die for!!! So delicious and simple; it was one of our late night snacks at our reception at the Maxwell Mansion.
  Everyone at the Baker House makes your stay absolutely luxurious and perfect…there is no middle here. It’s all high end service. On the day of our wedding, our guests sat outside, in the front yard. The landscaping of the property was gorgeous and didn’t need any additional help from our florist. There was no need when everything looked like a fairytale to begin with. With the sun shining, no clouds in sight and a beautiful afternoon, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. The Baker House was able to accommodate our larger wedding (175 guests) and they all sat comfortably.
  The day after our wedding, we went to the Baker House for their famous Sunday brunch. What a feast! Their spread of food was incredible. From their beef stews, to the French toast, to the pastries… the list could go on and on. It was a great way to end the weekend with family and friends!

  We were looking for a local destination and a unique venue to host our wedding and once we first toured Maxwell Mansion and The Baker House we looked no further! We reserved our wedding day one year in advance, with our ceremony held in the gardens at Baker House and the reception throughout the home and front lawn of Maxwell Mansion. Despite some communication issues early on likely due to some turnover on their event team, things improved once Jennifer arrived and became our go to contact for all things related to our wedding. When the weekend finally arrived Jennifer was available around the clock and made sure the tent was setup beautifully, the caterers were all aligned and their needs were taken care of, and that we were well prepared for whatever mother nature threw our way (unfortunately our forecast largely called for rain, but we managed to sneak by with a beautiful outdoor ceremony and much of the reception outdoors as well). The property lends itself well to keeping close family and friends onsite for your wedding given there are 29 rooms available across all their properties. However don’t be fooled, this is no hotel, the rooms are gorgeous, modern, and will leave your guests talking about them all weekend. The bartenders also make amazing cocktails in their super cool bar at Maxwell. We had an after party in the basement ‘speakeasy’ that was a great way to end the night and reception. If you are looking for a unique venue that will be nothing like any typical banquet hall then consider Maxwell Mansion and the Baker House to leave your guests wowed with something different for a change.

  The Baker House was a fabulous wedding venue. The only ding I gave them was in relation to responsiveness. When planning a wedding, you want everything to be perfect. With so many details to coordinate, we were anxious to check them off our list. It was a challenge confirming that our event time/date had been locked in, selecting menu items with the chef, etc. That made me very nervous. In the end, it all worked out seamlessly. Thank you Baker House!

  Beautiful environment. Pictures looked amazing. The food was great as well. Their staff is sub-par. From the event coordinator to the wait staff. The bartenders are awesome and VERY helpful. They do have one male waiter who is AMAZING, he should be the one running the show. They should invest in better staffing.
