If the ambiance, architecture and location doesn’t sell the venue for you, Jane Darnell will put the icing on the cake. We could not have been more pleased with our choice of the venue. We had both our ceremony and reception at the same venue, and it was absolutely perfect. Jane is responsive, caring, attentive and will make sure everything gets done. We also couldn’t forget about the local pianist that played for our ceremony and cocktail hour. Oxana did a great job and it created such a welcoming atmosphere.

We can truly say nothing but the kindest words for Jane and Baldwin events.

From the moment we first reached out with a bit of an unorthodox request as out of towners (to have a virtual tour of the grounds), she was nothing but accommodating from start to finish, taking us around on her cell phone to see everything Baldwin has to offer, and following up with a string of responsive emails thereafter. No question was too small or too complex. She even went out of her way to help us identify vendors that would fit our unique vision for the big day.

We are deeply grateful to Jane for all her assistance and oversight of one of the most unique and elegant venues we had the pleasure of finding in the Philly area!

Baldwin School was the perfect setting for our daughter and son-in-law’s wedding in November. All the characteristics of the building - amazing staircases, wood burning fireplaces that were actually burning for the evening, and many other unique features inside and out - made it such a beautiful venue for the wedding. Having various spaces for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception was exactly what we were looking for. Being able to add our own DIY touch for decor, and being able to choose a caterer (we chose Brandywine Catering, a full service caterer, who also was amazing), made Baldwin School the perfect choice. Jane, who is Baldwin’s representative, was incredible and helped make the experience so easy and comfortable and relaxed. She was always there when needed during the preparations, rehearsal, and the whole wedding day. She went above and beyond to help for whatever we needed to make the day what our daughter and son-in-law were hoping for. Many of our guests are still talking about how great Baldwin School was for the wedding.

We cannot recommend the Baldwin enough! Jane and the Baldwin team were absolutely incredible and made our day so special. The venue is so beautiful and is a wonderful place where you can put your own touches if you want, but is beautiful on it’s own. Jane personally went above and beyond to help us get ready for the day make our guests feel welcome and even helped us clean up after the reception...seriously she is the best!

This is the best venue around! It has everything a place for your ceremony, a place for a reception, a kitchen for your caterer— yes they DO allow outside caterers! And Jane is AMAZING!!!! Seriously, I wouldn’t have changed one thing about my wedding at the Baldwin. It’s such a historic and beautiful building and my guests were all stunned by it! If you have any questions ask Jane she is so knowledgeable and the friendliest person you will ever meet! I will certainly miss getting to see her so much!!!

The Baldwin and Jane were nothing short of perfection! From the moment we saw The Baldwin we knew it was the venue for us. The building is absolutely stunning from the inside out. The charm and character impressed all of our guests and the outside porches were a perfect addition and allowed guests to enjoy the whole space. The reception room was spacious but still intimate. The pricing was very reasonable and there so much freedom in vendor choices which we found nowhere else. You can truly make your wedding day one a kind here!

Jane was an absolute delight to work with from the first tour to the wedding reception. She made the entire wedding planning process simple and stress free. She answered all our questions immediately and gave us great recommendations when we were looking for vendors. She accommodated every request and even measured the iron gates herself when we needed to find out if our transport bus could fit! We were at total ease knowing Jane would make the day seamless. By the time the wedding day came Jane felt like part of the family! We all enjoyed her so much and enjoyed every second we spent at The Baldwin! I would highly recommend The Baldwin to any couple looking for a one of kind wedding.

The Baldwin School was absolutely amazing. We planned our 230 guest wedding and we have no regrets. Jane was such a pleasure to work with. She was very responsive and compassionate...she never changed during the process. We encourage all to have a Baldwin wedding! One of the best experiences ever!

What can I possibly say about Jane and the Baldwin that hasn't already been said? It's perfect. It's stunning actually. From the second you arrive through the dramatic iron gates, you are mesmerized by the stunning beauty of the building. Working with Jane was like having a second Maid of Honor, right from the beginning. She is helpful, knowledgeable, and frankly, any words I could write here would not do her justice. Truthfully, Jane was the person I felt the most emotional talking to on our wedding day because of how close we became during the planning process. She was a true friend as we navigating planning a wedding with families out of town, buying a home, and having a longer engagement. There was no question too small, no email unanswered, and no text that felt like I was bothering her in anyway. Our guests were absolutely amazed by the space and spent much of cocktail hour exploring the halls and porches. We have not a single regret from our wedding and owe so much of that to our amazing team of vendors, many of which Jane helped us find. Thank you Jane, for helping us plan the wedding of our dreams.

We had an amazing experience with The Baldwin, and Jane, their coordinator. I would recommend this venue to anyone! It is so classy and timeless... with a gorgeous staircase to die for! We had a hard time finding a venue that would meet our needs. We were looking for more of a “DIY venue” that would allow BYOB and catering, but would also fit at least 200 people. Once we went for our tour, we immediately fell in love. Our day was just shy of perfection! We chose the option to rent the extra ceremony room and have our ceremony indoors, because for me, it was less stressful than worrying about a back-up plan in case of rain. However, there are spaces for an outdoor ceremony as well. The dining hall was a perfect size, with adequate room for a dance floor, and a double buffet. It was very convenient that there was a bridal suite on site, as well as a room on a separate floor for the groom and groomsmen to get ready in, too. Everything was beautiful! Thank you, Jane and Baldwin!!!

We have nothing but amazing things to say about Jane and Baldwin! Jane was great with communication right from the initial contact. We knew as soon as we walked into Baldwin that it was where we wanted to have our wedding. Baldwin is an absolutely beautiful venue with so much character. Our guests were blown away by the beauty. We had a perfect night and we cannot imagine having our wedding anywhere else. We are beyond grateful for Jane's help and support throughout the process.

The space at the Baldwin is lovely with lots of character. Many different rooms with a variety of atmospheres. It had everything we were looking for at a price that worked in our budget. Everything came together without a problem.

Jane Darnell of Baldwin Catering Facility is a pleasure to work with. We have had 2 fundraising events recently and plan to have more in the future. Jane is a rare individual who works tirelessly and with a bubbly personality to create the environment you want for your event/occasion. Jane's performance in good times is impressive, but what separates her from the others is her ability to remain positive and courteous when inevitable stress ensues. With any event, changes are going to happen either in advance or at the last minute. Jane will work it out, and with a smile. I/we would highly recommend Jane to organize your event.

Baldwin was absolutely beautiful and the staff were so great and accommodating. All of our guests loved the venue and we didn't have to do much in decorations because the venue was already so beautiful. The price is for the venue, but they work with a wide array of preferred vendors at all different pricing options. I would highly recommend having your wedding or event at Baldwin!

If you're looking for old world charm, you don't have to go all the way to Europe for your wedding--the Baldwin School has it in spades! The building exterior makes a jaw-dropping first impression on your guests, and the interiors ooze charm with all the wood paneling, antique furniture, oil paintings, and all that irreplaceable Victorian-era architecture.

The dining area is simply massive, with one of the best open layouts that we came across. If you need to fit a lot of guests at dinner but still want your event to feel nice and classy, this is your place.

The staff was wonderful, and were very helpful leading up to the event. They were extremely flexible when it came to letting us decorate--just don't do anything permanent to the building and pretty much anything goes.

The site coordinator, Jane Darnell, was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was always in contact, helpful with ideas as well as execution, and she's completely unflappable. Jane was such a calming presence while we were setting up the day before, and made everything go off perfectly the day of.

We could not have made a better choice for our venue! You get your own fairy tale castle at real world prices, what more can I say! Book your wedding here and you won't regret it.

Baldwin has really incredible architecture that made for such a lovely wedding. It was great to be able to do the ceremony, photos, and reception all in one place! And, Jane was a pleasure to work with!

There was no one better to make our wedding day as perfect as possible than Jane Darnell at the Baldwin School. Sure, she was responsive to our every needs, communicated professionally and timely, and helped us check off every box needed, but she was so much more. Jane connected to our vision, embraced our creativity and provided us with a friendship we continue share today. You'll love the Baldwin School's facilities. The grounds create so many opportunities to be creative through its beautifully historic features, visual elegance, and unique spacing. Together with Jane we executed our vision perfectly. With over 230 guest we were able to provide an outdoor social area with games and a bar, an indoor dinner and dancing main room, and also a quiet coffee lounge for those wanting to take a moment to relax. We liked the Baldwin School because of its unique potential and historic charm, we chose the Baldwin School because we fell in love with Jane.

Having worked in the industry for almost 5 years, I have been to many venues all over the Philadelphia area. The Baldwin School rivals every venue I've seen in their professionalism, value, accommodations, beauty, and charm.

Jane Darnell works there as the event coordinator. WOW! She went above and beyond! She and her staff were so accommodating, helping us through the process, making sure we had all the equipment we needed and working with all the other event professionals without me having to be involved. She was incredible with the set up for the wedding and the day-of. She was there from start to finish, making sure we had everything we needed! Amazing!

The school itself is absolutely gorgeous. I had 250 guests in the main ballroom/dining room and the cocktail hour in the main hall and the room "Assembly." My guests loved it. I got so many compliments about the whole place. They have beautiful furniture placed throughout so the guests can lounge and enjoy. They also have a huge porch on the back (which we were so sad we couldn't use for cocktail hour due to weather reasons.) So many options! You can do so much with the space. The wood throughout is so classic.

The value for the school is INCREDIBLE!! Their pricing is so reasonable. I feel like I found a rare gem. They were so excellent to work with and all of my guests were blown away by the space. I loved having my wedding there. They just started doing events for the public. If you're lucky enough that your date is available - Do NOT hesitate! Book this venue!!

Baldwin is, truly, a remarkable place. As soon as my (now) husband and I walked into the space with our families, we we were overwhelmed by awe and beauty. The architecture, outdoor grounds, staff, and location are absolutely perfect. Guests stayed in Philly and we easily shuttled them to the ceremony and reception site.

It was the most magical and romantic wedding I could have ever asked for. Thank you Baldwin staff and Conner Catering. You helped make our day so beautiful and perfect.

The Baldwin School was a beautiful venue for my daughter's wedding. We had 185 guests. Hardwood floors, leaded glass floor to ceiling windows, grand staircase, fireplaces, large porches with overhangs perfect for cocktail hour rain or shine. Donna and her team worked very hard to ensure that every detail was perfect. Each and every request was honored. The staff could not have been more friendly or accommodating throughout the year as we asked to see the rooms during our planning stages.

When we first walked into the Baldwin School, we felt like we were transported back in time. The gorgeous architecture, complete with a grand staircase and stone fireplace, makes you feel as though you are a member of Philadelphia high society in the early 1900s. The entire space is elegant and sophisticated, which is sure to leave a lasting impression on all our guests. We will be getting married at Baldwin in November 2013. The ceremony will be held on the grand staircase and the reception will be in the large hall - a beautiful room with hardwood floors, leaded windows and a door leading out to a covered wrap-around porch where guests can get some air and mingle, even if there is inclement weather.

Aside from the space and all it's great history, the events coordinator Donna has been a pleasure to work with. From our first meeting with her she was very kind and accommodating, especially in helping us stay within our budget. She has bent over backwards to make sure we have all the information we need and has already significantly reduced our stress level throughout the planning process. We have no doubt that the day of our wedding will run smoothly thanks to her professionalism and experience. We would recommend Baldwin to anyone looking for a unique, historic venue.

We are having our December 2013 wedding reception at The Baldwin School because it is absolutiely beautiful. Ever since i stepped foot into The Baldwin for a friend's wedding that I attended back in 1995, I knew The Baldwin School was where i wanted to have a winter wedding reception at. And, soon my dream will be coming true. The most important thing to release about this venue is that it is a historical property (what i've always wanted) and I can't wait for my guests to be in awe and hope it makes a lasting impression on them as it did for me!

This place is amazing, I was extremely impressed with the ambiance and of course Jane. She is authentic, and genuine just like the venue!

I was having the worst time finding a venue that wasn't an over priced barn or hotel conference room. I happened upon Baldwin by accident and the second I stepped foot on their property I was floored. The entire space is so stunning and all the period details are perfect. Rebuilt in 1890, it has all of its original charm and grandeur. I didn't have to spend a dime to decorate the space (apart from centerpieces) and they were incredibly reasonably priced in comparison to SO MANY other venues we looked at. They also have a range of preferred caterers to choose from to fit your budget. All of my vendors who were not familiar with Baldwin were totally impressed by its beauty. And as a bonus, there are so many gorgeous spots within the building and on the grounds that we were able to take all of our pictures on location so that we could enjoy our own cocktail hour! Communication with the event coordinator was an issue at times but overall she was very pleasant to work with, funny, and very helpful. At the end of the day our wedding went off without a hitch and we couldn't have been more pleased with how it turned out. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful Baldwin is. By far one of my favorite decisions throughout the entire planning process.
