    Beautiful Wedding in the Woods!

We were married at the Barn at Fallingwater in September of 2019. This venue is the most beautiful, intimate wedding spot for laid back couples who love the outdoors and want a space that allows for a relaxing vibe in nature.

    The Barn at Fallingwater's reply:

Hi Andrea & Matt! Thank you so much for the review. You were the perfect couple to get married at The Barn. Your wedding day was just lovely. I wish you all the happiness.

We loved having our wedding at The Barn at Fallingwater. We chose to have our ceremony in the clearing in the woods, got ready in the Farmhouse, used the Fireplace Room for our cocktail hour, opted for photos at Fallingwater house and had our reception in the Hayloft. Aside from the uncontrollable heat of the day, the barn gave me the perfect canvas. I chose to stray away from the popular "rustic" themed weddings and glammed the barn up for a classy 1920's Speakeasy party. It was beautiful and was described to me as "glowing". Perfect for anyone looking for rustic, in the woods, or canvas to try something new/different...

The Barn also comes with their coordinator, Kate. She is amazing, timely, and knows her stuff. No problems what so ever.

Absolutely perfect venue! Didn't need much decoration because of its natural, rustic beauty! It's truly a gem and the event coordinator, Kate Andyjohn was beyond helpful! She broke her foot yet still made sure everything was done on time and helped with tables and everything! She was so friendly and asked every one of my extensive questions! She was perfect! The venue is absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect place!

Amazing experience! Every little detail was taken care of. We did spend a little more than we were planning, but it was well worth it.

    Totally recommend!

My husband and I got married at the Barn in September 2019 and had a great experience! There are multiple options for how a wedding could go there but we had all of our 'activities' on the same property: an outdoor ceremony in the woods, the cocktail hour was on the flagstone patio right outside of the barn, and the reception with dinner/dancing was on the large second level of the barn. This is a "DIY venue"--they have tables and chairs but they do make you rent everything you don't own from a specific rental company, we had to bring in our own caterer, decorate ourselves, etc. We were pretty set on doing things this way anyway so we could personalize everything but it was a lot of work! The staff event coordinator Amy was great to work with, good with communication, and super kind and helpful. If you're looking for a venue with a more laid back, rustic/boho vibe with a strong connection to nature (it's in arguably the most beautiful part of PA) I would definitely recommend Fallingwater!

    The Barn at Fallingwater's reply:

    Hi Ashley & Jack,
Thank you for your review. I'll never forget all of the unique and beautiful flower arrangements that your family & friends put together for you, oh, and your band!!! Your wedding was so full of life! I wish you all the happiness. -Amy

This was a wonderful event location for our reception and ceremony! We loved being married in the wooded amphitheater. It was such a beautiful and unique location for all of out of town guests to experience. Katelyn, the event coordinator, was wonderful and made everything go smoothly!

The Barn at Fallingwater and Kate in particular are fantastic! We had both our ceremony & reception at the Barn and also included the optional photo session at Fallingwater. Kate was very helpful in our planning, recommending a rental company and going above and beyond to help us plan our destination wedding. The venue is unique and beautiful, just what we were looking for. Having Kate there as such an awesome resource was icing on the cake.

We could not have picked a more perfect venue for our day. Everything went amazingly smoothly! I was nervous for a few months prior, as it did take the coordinator, Kate, a while to respond to e-mails or phone calls. (Sometimes it would take multiple emails/a phone call to get a response about a particular question.) BUT! Please don't let that worry you! When you arrive to set up for your wedding day, you understand why! Kate is BUSY. We were there most of the day Friday, all day Saturday, and part of the afternoon on Sunday either setting up, enjoying the wedding, or breaking it all down and she was heavily involved in every part of it.

I had no idea that the staff at the barn would help so much, but they truly did and they were fantastic. It took a lot of pre-wedding stress off. If you are doing a DIY wedding, this venue is the way to go. They let us set up from 9:00-5:00 on Friday (not that we needed the whole time,) Saturday morning, and even though there was a party Sunday afternoon, they let us back in that morning for about another hour of clean up. Amazing! Where else will you find that?

Yes, it is pricey, but it is worth it if this atmosphere is what you want. Our wedding was budget, and with suggestions from Kate on the best caterer for us, did not end up being an uber-expensive bill in the end.

Having our wedding at Fallingwater was probably the best decision we made for the day. It was perfect.

We loved having our wedding at the Barn at Fallingwater. It was a beautiful setting and received so many compliments. We definitely took advantage of having time the day before to set up for the wedding. The ceremony site was well wooded and intimate... it also was recently redone and looks very nice. The only issue we had was with all the rain, it was a bit muddy and we were worried it would cause people to slip and fall. Everything went off without a hitch and it was a beautiful venue. The farmhouse was a bit disappointing and outdated to get ready in, so we opted to not take pictures there. Be aware the Barn is not air-conditioned. While most of our guests were fine... some were uncomfortable until the sun went down. We worked with Kate Andyjohn the event coordinator before and she was very difficult to get in touch with. Lea was fabulous when she took over and was very quick to respond and help us the best she could.

I gave The Barn a 5 for value because to anyone who is fan of architecture, having the chance to have your wedding in the shadow of a frank lloyd wright masterpiece is priceless. it was on par with the pricing of other similar-sized venues around Pittsburgh, so I suppose it depends on what is important to the bride. For me, something casual, whimsical, and architectural like the barn was perfect. They let you get your pictures taken at the actual house, you can get ready in the adjacent farmhouse, and they have a few different spaces for the ceremony and reception. Kate was extremely helpful and prompt in her email responses. She even helped us haul pop and beer when setting up! This place is great for a natural and intimate setting, but it is not the ideal place if you're expecting more than 120 people. They have a small portable bar and kitchen, but you must hire your caterer seperately, which could add to the cost, depending on who you get.

Fallingwater was a BEAUTIFUL venue. We received so many compliments on our choice. I was very happy with it. The only thing I did not like was that the outside ceremony was up on a hill, so instead of using chairs we had to use hay bails, which was fine, except that we not only had to pay for them ourselves, but we had to set them up that morning and stack them back up that evening. It added some stress to the wedding day. Other than that, it provided a beautiful setting for the ceremony and the barn was perfect for the reception!

The venue was amazing and beautiful. I couldn't have asked for better, especially since he proposed to me at Fallingwater across the street. Kate was wonderful on the day of, although a little slow to responding to questions before the wedding. I was very impressed with her on the day before, day-of, and day after.

The venue is absolutely beautiful. The barn and outdoor amphitheater are dreamy and so many of my guests commented that it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had ever been to. However, I had some challenges with coordination with the barn staff. I was supposed to have wedding portraits at the Fallingwater house after it had closed and they told me the closing time was at 4. That is when the last tour starts so I had tons of tourists staring at me while having my photo taken. I would highly recommend a day of planner if you choose this venue because they don't help at all with the flow of the day.

The barn and the ceremony site are very rustic and were a nice backdrop for my beautiful daughter's wedding. However, I CAN NOT BELIEVE that the events coordinator keeps her job there! She is horrible to try and deal with, not returning calls, forgetting all kinds of things, changing things and not keeping her promises. if you try to deal with these people, MAKE SURE you get every detail in writing! We had a terrible experience the day of our event. We informed Ashley, the coordinator, that we had a bus coming for the wedding party at 10:30pm and were going to clean up after this. Despite the fact that our contract stated the event was to end by 11pm and clean up was to be complete by midnight, she appeared out of no where just before 9:30 pm and started moving our stuff and taking off our tablecloths. The wedding party was still there and things were in full swing. I asked her what was going on and reminded her that the bus was coming for them at 10:30. she told me it was time to clean up. I am the mother of the bride and i was appalled at her behavior. She was rude and obnoxious to me and our guests and pretty much ruined the end of the evening for me. I asked her to please stop, but she wouldn't. I was so upset and said, "I can't believe that you are throwing us out"! She also threw away the special box that the kids cake came in and when the baker bounced her about it, she said "I guess it got thrown away then." They ended up having to smoosh their wedding cake into a cupcake box. There are so many things this woman did badly/didn't do at all/or said, leading up to and during our special day that i can't even begin to mention them all. It would have been beautiful if Ashley had not done her best to ruin it. You also are required to use ONE specific rental company, for linens and such at this venue. Even if included by your caterer you can not use. We got our own and the week before the wedding were told may have been told to buy the wrong sizes...TERRIBLE!
