I had a great experience having my bridal hair and makeup done by Jess at The Beauty Collective/ The Beauty Bar. My fiancé and I planned our micro wedding in Santa Fe from across the country, and Jess was recommended to me by our photographer. From when I first emailed her, Jess was very responsive and easy to work with. She immediately suggested a phone call to discuss my vision. I am not a regular makeup wearer, and Jess was so patient in helping me figure out what I wanted for my wedding day look. I wasn't able to do an in-person trial since I'm not local, but it was no issue at all. Jess came to my hotel room to do my hair and makeup on the day of the wedding, and she made me feel very comfortable and confident in her work. She did an amazing job, giving me a look that felt both elevated and glamorous, but like I was still myself. She even gave me a lipstick to keep, because I didn't realize this was something brides generally provided themselves. For the service you get, her prices were very reasonable, especially because she only charged $25 to come to me instead of having me travel to her studio. I couldn't recommend Jess and the Beauty Collective enough! -

We had the most perfect morning of hair and makeup done by Wynonna! She was on time, so friendly and funny and kept our nerves calm with her professionalism. The communication before our wedding day was really good too and I could share my "look book" of how I wanted my hair and makeup to be. Highly recommend! -

Outstanding
Candace and Wynonna from the beauty collective were absolutely the best!!! They did such an amazing job and were so fun and friendly!! I loved my makeup and my viking hairstyle!! They truly did amazing on everyone's makeup for my Halloween wedding!! Highly highly recommended!!

The most amazing experience with Jess Evans. She did hair and makeup for the rehearsal dinner and wedding. Her artistic style is fabulous. She listens to your wants and creates exactly what you had in mind…only better. Her calming presence was perfect for the nerves of our bride. It was a privilege to work with such an amazing artist. I highly recommend Jess- local or visitor. -

We had a small vow renewal for our 25th anniversary in Santa Fe but live out of state. Winona was outstanding and I couldn’t have been happier with my hair and makeup. I only arrived in town the day prior and we never had the chance to try the updo prior to the day of the ceremony. She did such an amazing job. Makeup was perfect and stayed on all day- outside in July. I would highly recommend to everyone. -

If you want a team that brings positivity, professionalism, and consistently effortless results, The Beauty Collective team is hands down your go to. Not only did they make me feel confident on the outside on my wedding day they also acted as a friend in the final hours before walking down the aisle. Hands down ten out of ten recommend. You will not regret it. -

Customer focused delightful experience
I had a destination wedding in Santa Fe and was pretty nervous about hair and makeup. I did a trial with beauty collective on my tasting weekend and had a few things I wanted to change. They arranged a second trial the week of the wedding and ensured everything was just how i imaged it. Day of the wedding the ladies were such a good energy for the bridal suite, calm and attentive. Highly recommend. -

I just got married 1/14/24. Wynonna did my trial and I was happy with the way everything came out. The thing that added so much unnecessary stress was the fact that while Wynonna did my trial , that I traveled all the way from Belen for, we talked extensively about all the wedding details. She knew what date it was and didn't ever tell me she would be unavailable. The whole point of the trail is to feel comfortable and know your hair will be the way you want it on the day of your wedding. After the trail I tried booking with her and they assigned me a different lady being that Wynonna was unavailable. It was literally the day or 2 after the trail that I was trying to book so it wasn't like there was time left in between and something came up. I just believe I was led on. She also sat there and told me that they wouldn't need to charge me the travel fee. This was a lie so it's very unprofessional that she would ensure me of that. I was very anxious about switching people but the lady with booking reassured me that Candace the new lady assigned was in the wedding business for at least 10 years. So for lack of having to pay another trial fee of about $170 or $180 with tip as well as travel from belen to Santa fe I decided to stick with them. Wedding day comes and Candace was very nice and professional. That put aside I feel like my hair and makeup turned out to be an absolute nightmare. My hair is very poofy and frizzy and it just ended up being the biggest regret I have for my wedding day. My hair and makeup didn't look like anything I was wanting it to and I felt pressed for time I didn't think there was a way to fix it without starting over. If I knew my hair and makeup would turn out the way it did I would have booked elsewhere. This was by far my biggest regret for my wedding day.The Beauty Collective's reply:
hi celeste. i'm so sorry you were unhappy with your hair and makeup for your wedding day. as soon as we realized wynonna would not be available for your wedding date we reached out to let you know and offer an alternate solution. although we work hard to ensure everything goes smoothly during the wedding season for brides and artists, sometimes hiccups happen. it seems there was a miscommunication regarding the travel fee, there are no circumstances in which we could wave the fee for driving 2 hours to you. i have issued you a full refund for your services. i am truly sorry you didn't like the final look for your wedding day.
