  Saphia, the owner, styled my hair for our 25th wedding anniversary vow renewal ceremony on the beach in St. John, USVI. She did a wonderful job. She did it exactly how I wanted it. I brought a picture in and she matched it to a "T". She is very pleasant to deal with and has a very calming personality!! She aims to please!! I would highly recommend!!

  I had my wedding in the off-season so just Saphia and Elyse were in the salon this day and they were AMAZING!!!! We had 2 last minute hair appointments to squeeze in and they made it all happen. They did everyone's hair just as we wanted, loved my french manicure, and makeup! I would 200% recommend going to the Beauty Lounge. They are the best! THANK YOU BEAUTY LOUNGE

  Very friendly place located in Mongoose Junction on the north end of Cruz Bay, St John. Mark did a fantastic job with my up-do and adding the floral clip that I brought with me. He's also very interesting to speak with, just ask about all the places he's been! Mark did my hair exactly how it looked the in example photo I brought with me.
  
  Keep in mind that they ask for a 50% deposit when you make your appointment.

  There are few options available on the island of St John for hair, The Beauty Lounge however did not disappoint. After a little difficulty with trying to schedule an appointment, everything went smoothly. I would definitely recommend calling and doing your business over the phone instead of emailing. The experience was great, its a small place but the people were super friendly and our hair looked amazing.

  I had a mani pedi at this place and loved it. The setting is serene and tropical. The owner herself did my nails. They looked great and she was professional and warm. The front desk person was also very sweet. I go to St John every year and this will now be my regular place for nails. I don't do my nails normally during the year as I'm too busy; but, I'm all for it while I'm on vacation.

  The girl who did my hair and make-up was very professional and flexible when things outside of my control made me late to the appointment. I had it done at Caneel Bay, so the Cruz Bay location may be different. Overall it was fine, but I did have two major issues. First- they did not have a good selection of foundation colors for people with fair skin. I had been warned by others that this can be a problem in the islands, but the lightest color they had was still too dark for me. She did as good a job as she could on blending the color into my neck, but it started to run (it was really, really hot that day) while I was on the beach for the ceremony and pictures, which resulted in some very noticeable streaking. The hairstyle was good but didn't hold up well outside in the wind. I had told her that I would I be on the beach and needed something thing that wouldn't fall apart, but I don't think she used enough hairspray. We had to stop a few times during the pictures to try and pin pieces back up (it wasn't an elaborate style- just a side updo, with tons of bobby pins to keep it in place). Again, if I hadn't been running late, there might have been more time to work on these issues. I also chose not to do the trial, since it was outside of our budget.
  We had a second photo shoot the next day, and I did my own hair and make-up for that. It turned out much, much better (the photographer actually thought I had gone to someone else for hair and make-up that day) and I wound up wishing I had saved some money and done all of it myself. They were all great people- just be sure to talk to them in advance if you're fair-skinned and make sure the hair style you pick will hold up in the wind if you're outside.

  I had my finger and toenails painted the day before the wedding. The woman who did my nails was INCREDIBLY slow and it only looked okay. The owner of the place did a beautiful job on my sister's nails though. I was getting married on a Sunday so the owner said we could come to the salon that day to get my hair and make-up done and my sister's hair and make-up done as well. She scheduled the appointment for about 2 hours before the wedding was to begin, didn't show up on time, and showed up alone. There was barely enough time to get my hair and make-up done, and my sister had to do her own just so we could make it back in time for the wedding. She did a beautiful job on my hair and make-up, but there were some organization and planning issues that caused me a great deal of anxiety.
