We held our son’s wedding here and we couldn’t have been more pleased. From the very first time we walked in we knew this was the one. The grounds are absolutely stunning. The venue itself is beautiful, they have a large area for the groom and groomsmen to get ready in with a pool table. The girls loved the bridal suit, it was pretty amazing. The owners made sure we had everything we needed. Our son and now daughter in law paid for a planning and decor package and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. Jane and her staff made sure we were able to enjoy the day. We paid for the Platinum bar package and the bar was amazing, our guests were very complimentary all night about the service and quality of drinks. We couldn’t be happier with choosing the English Barn and would highly recommend if you want a beautiful stress free wedding, have your wedding here.

Jane and her team are absolutely outstanding to work with and they without a doubt have THE most magical venue to host an event. I would highly recommend The English Barn for your wedding, it's simply spectacular!

I am a wedding photographer, and The English Barn made it onto my top three venues in KC.... maybe even the top! The owners are so helpful, and want to make sure everyone has a wedding of their dreams there! I hope to have many, many more chances to photograph weddings that brides and grooms only dream about, at the English Barn.

We are the parents of the bride who recently had her wedding and reception at The English Barn. Jane bent over backwards to accommodate us. She had wonderful suggestions from the start to the finish. My daughter got married at The English Barn on July 17, 2021. Our process started in October of 2020 when we booked the wedding. From start to final our experience could not have been more perfect!! I don't have 1 teeny tiny thing to even complain about. The venue is A DREAM!! You think it's gorgeous in pics...it's a million times more amazing in person! The staff/bartenders was unbelievable - Jane was our go-to and I don't know if she could've been any more amazing! The bridals, she couldn't be more helpful. The day of the wedding - oh my goodness, from being everywhere at once it felt like, to help getting things out of the car and putting it all where it needed to be, to fixing the girls dresses...I've helped with weddings before and the venue person is usually sitting in the office the whole day IF you need her come and get her - not here - she was THE BEST!! The grounds are amazing, just for real MAGICAL! I'm beyond grateful that this venue was built so our baby girl could have her dream wedding!! I seriously could go on and on... Recommended to our neighbor who is also getting married here in 2022. Can't wait!

I would just like to follow up with the review by Debbie W. I was the bartender at their wedding. The contract for their drinks started at 6:00pm and ended at 11:00. Unless you want to pay for a all day drinking package we won’t be serving you all day. With it being a open bar and the laws we have to abide by, you are only allowed a certain amount of liquor per drink. THAT IS THE LAW. We have police officers on site because we want everyone to be safe. There are signs saying no smoking and designated smoking areas. Jane loves taking pictures of everyone having a great time. This was not due to capturing over consumption. And finally, the bar closed at 11:00. Legally we have to do last call 15 min prior to bar closing. Which the DJ called out and multiple people came up to get a final drink. Really goes to show how people’s perception of things change with alcohol. I have worked with Paul and Jane for awhile now and they are truly amazing people. They will go over and beyond for your special day. I hate that these reviews are only one sided. They don’t deserve this awful review because it’s simple not true. If you want a worry free day, and if there is one person you can rely on, it’s the owners Jane and Paul Howe. They are incredible people and love what they do. I will also leave my name and email so they know this review is true.

Our daughter, Kelsey Robbins married the man of her dreams on September 11th, 2021 - it was fabulous - Jane and her husband, Paul were so sweet and worked so hard to make her big day perfect and it was! We had approximately 160ish guests - we have received many calls, texts, and emails to our entire family about how fabulous the venue was! They all raved about how beautiful the English Barn is - everything went off beautifully! Of all the wedding venues in the Kansas City Area - I would rate the English Barn #1!

We discovered The English Barn at the KCPWG wedding convention, and I am SO THANKFUL we did!!! The English Barn was my absolute fairytale wedding venue! I felt like a total princess having my wedding there! Jane, the venue owner, is the most hard-working, kindest, sweetest person! Her "we only get to do this once" attitude ensured that our day was absolutely on-point! Through designing the venue with the utmost detail (beautiful chandeliers, exquisite furniture, lovely woodwork, gorgeous fireplace), to taking over many fine details that our wedding planner was not helping with (ceremony/reception layout, scheduling, vendor communication), to creating magic during the wedding (graciously preparing breakfast and lunch for our wedding party, taking care of the venue flip, lighting floating candles, setting up refrigerated items for the dessert table, setting up a candlelit last dance as a couple) to helping my parents load up after the wedding (she and wedding assistant, Callie, packed things up for my parents, boxed up leftover food, took care of all clean up), Jane makes sure your wedding at The English Barn isn't just an event, but the perfect experience! Thank you so much to Jane, Callie, and Paul for all you did for our wedding!

The day, the venue, the entire experience was wonderful and beautiful as the bride and groom. I can't think of a detail that has been forgotten or left out at this venue. The staff paid attention and catered to every need. It was great to watch as everyone from the DJ, to the bartenders and the owners of the facility served the bride and groom to make sure they were always well cared for and their needs met. Highly recommend The English Barn as a great place to create wonderful memories.

From the moment my husband proposed to me, I knew this place is where I was meant to get married! We saw it for the first time and it was not completed but we knew the potential it had. Other venues saw us as another paycheck, Jane saw us as a bride and groom who wanted the most perfect day. I was so excited to every meeting we had because I knew something had been finished and we got to see every detail being put together. Now onto Jane. The greatest human ever. She was the reason we chose this venue because we saw her love and passion for weddings and we knew we wanted her touch. Nothing beats 9pm calls because she was so excited she found the perfect flowers for our centerpieces. She was up at 5am and didn’t stop moving till ceremony at 5pm. She set up and did everything! Her amazing details just made the day that much better. Our party bus cancelled morning of and we had no fear because Jane fixed it right away! (Showtime transportation is perfection!) Our DJ didn’t play our last song/didn’t dismiss everyone for the glow stick exit and I was just going to let that go but Jane stepped in and made sure I had the exit that I had always dreamed about! She made the day about my husband and I and that’s all we could’ve ever hoped for! Our wedding was 2 months ago and I’m still reliving that day!

This brand new venue is absolutely stunning. Don't miss her open house in March. We chose it for our daughter's wedding when it was just 4 walls and not totally finished. But as soon as we met Jane and saw her vision, we were sold. She has such a passion for weddings, design and her community. There is no detail she has not thought of. She has china, vases, linens, chair wraps, candle holders, cake plates, warming dishes, beautiful silk floral arrangements if you want to use them for all your tables or to supplement real flowers. She has allowed us to come and visit multiple times and has always showed patience. I have heard her backing up her brides when others were trying to take advantage of them.

I had the honor of officiating a wedding for a couple earlier this Spring. What an extremely sweet couple and great love story that spans two continents. The day and the event was beautiful and complimented by the new and wonderful venue- The English Barn. No details were left unaddressed in making this day a memorable experiance for the bride and groom. From the manicured grounds to the hand carved timber building and the castle like bridal suite, I would recommend The English Barn to anyone. In additon to the facility, the owners are on-site to ensure the goes smoothly and all needs are attended to with special care given to the bride and groom.

Once Upon A Time, in a beautiful dream, here you are at the doors of The English Barn, so beautifully designed, inspired and decorated by Jane and Paul Howe! When you step into the doors, You will see the most breath-taking beauty of a majestic venue, with the awe of it’s massive beams, to the glistening facets of sparkling chandeliers, THIS is the perfect wedding venue for your dream story to begin!

Every bride loves a good fairytale and the romantic bridal suite inside the stone turret brings those dreams to life! With the heart window side door, the bridesmaids have perfect access to seclusion and privacy in their own dressing room! The furniture and surroundings are simply exquisite! It is spacious and quite comfortable for hair and makeup experts to get four bridesmaids ready for the big day, while the bride has her own lovely surroundings to enjoy.

The groom’s den is the perfect masculine hideaway! The pool table and big sectional couch were so comfortable for the guys to hang out! There is a spectacular balcony view of the fireplace setting in the chapel below, warm from the glow of candles and the most beautiful floral arrangements imaginable.

Many of our guests enjoyed the comfortable patio setting, giving them another beautiful setting to relax and visit with good friends and family.

Jane and Paul have been so kind and considerate to share their Dream-Come-True Venue with us for our daughter’s wedding and one of our guests said, “This beautiful venue was just out of this World!” It just takes your breath away to stand in the doorway and feel the presence of joy and love that overflows your heart when You know, This is the Most Beautiful Venue for Your Wedding too!

We are looking forward to the photography and videography delights so that we may relive this day over and over! It was a Dream Come True and we are so Thankful to have had the Joy of doing it with You, at The English Barn!

I will agree we had a set amount of time for the alcohol, but I have never seen someone hover over everyone like I saw at this venue. To be honest my day was very stressful because of this. I felt like nothing was laid back and relaxed. People were coming up to me telling me things that were being said to them. For example one of my nephews was asked to check if someone had puked in the bathroom ? Really ? And I was also told that if someone puked in the venue I would have to pay 1000 dollars to have the place cleaned. It is a beautiful place but the hovering over ever single thing drove me crazy! Never been to a venue (and I’ve been to a lot) that have so many rules and regulations! Also was supposed to get a s’mores bar and apple cider and got neither!
