The Exchange and EMW gave us the BEST WEDDING EVER!

We had the most amazing experience with Alyson Frieda and the entire EMW team at the ECC. Alyson was so kind, fun, creative, patient, responsive, and all the things you would want in a wedding planner. She was with us every step of the way from start to finish. We had the most perfect day thanks to her and her amazing team. The venue itself was beautiful inside and out. The food was incredible. All of our guests felt so comfortable and were treated so well. We had the best experience. Thank you, EMW!

The epitome of excellent, personal servicee

We worked with Allison Frieda and her staff at the Exchange for nearly a year from the day we met her and decided to select the Exchange as the venue to host our daughter's wedding through the wedding ceremony and reception. Allison was a pleaure to deal with, responded to all of our questions, and made useful suggestions to our daughter and our new son-in law that only an experiennced wedding planner would know.
Most importantly, her planning resulted in a wedding that came off without a hitch. She took care of all of the details and kept all of her promises so that the bride and groom and their parents were rewarded with the dream wedding that we had hoped for. She worked seamlessly with the other vendors, including the band, the food preparers, bartenders, the wait staff, florist, and the photographer.

She is thoroughly professional, was calm in the face of our occasional jitters, and epitomized terrific service, for which we will be forever grateful

Great Food and Ambience on the Waterfront

We loved that the building has historical significance, panoramic views of the water from the main space, and gave us indoor and outdoor options. We worked with Alanna, who couldn’t have been more helpful and communicative over the course of planning our wedding.

I want to note that the Exchange was FANTASTIC at dealing with food allergies and sensitivities. They provided special services to multiple bridal party members with severe sensitivities and made us feel at ease that the day would go off without a hitch!

    Seaport's hidden gem

After having toured countless venues, there was something about the Exchange that made the decision easy for us. Between the central location to Boston's Seaport district, the gorgeous harborview, or the market lights that give the space a great urban aesthetic, deciding to have our wedding here was a no brainer. From then on the entire planning process was seamless and incredibly tailored to make your overall vision a reality. Alanna was absolutely phenomenal along with the rest of the staff at the venue that made for the most incredible evening. Cannot recommend any more!

    hidden gem

We had our wedding at the Exchange Conference Center on 11/6/21 and it was absolutely amazing. Our day of coordinator Alanna and the team were so responsive from the beginning to the end and we were so impressed by their work and expertise. Planning a wedding during a pandemic is not easy but Alanna patiently answered all of our questions and made sure that our vision for the wedding was perfectly executed. Our guests all had an amazing time and raved about how amazing the food was. For a young couple paying for the wedding on their own, we could not have dreamed to find a place within our budget in the Boston Seaport but the Exchange Conference Center made that dream possible. I would highly recommend checking out this venue!

    More than helpful

We have not had out wedding yet but The Exchange has been more than helpful with helping us make important decisions regarding our wedding and dinner rehearsal. We had to change our date early on and they were very accommodating.

    True Hidden Gem!

My husband and I wanted a non-traditional wedding and a venue that was different. Through a work cocktail hour (outside on the harbor overlooking the airport and city), I found The Exchange and fell in love immediately with the stunning harbor views, floor to ceiling glass windows, and the 3 story high ceiling. When we got engaged, we toured dozens of venues and none of them stood up to my vision. We toured The Exchange and Ryan was as memorized as I was. From the moment you tour the venue, you are provided an Event Coordinator who then works with you throughout the planning process and is there during the wedding to make sure everything is perfect. We were so lucky to have Alanna assigned to our meeting. She went above and beyond with every aspect of our day, she had excellent ideas to help craft a wedding that was unique to Ryan and I. Alanna added to our vision and was encouraging when we had certain requests or when I changed my mind 100 times. She truly loves what she does and I would highly recommend working with her!!

During our tasting, Alanna made recommendations to enhance our tasting menu and worked with us to change the sauces on some of the meats and added that level of detail that sold us and our parents. We knew our guests would be happy, but boy was I wrong, the food surpassed all our of expectations!! Alanna added a Brussel Sprout salad to the tasting (neither of us like brussels), it turned out to be the best salad we have ever had and we are now obsessed with brussels. It was a unanimous decision and the salad was the first item added to our menu. The food catered by East Meets West is DELICIOUS!!! Our guests keep saying that it was the best wedding food they had. Everything came out perfectly and each steak was cooked to perfection with a nice medium rare/medium center (not well done like in most weddings). East Meets West is creative and spends a lot of attention to the tiniest details on the plate. We loved being able to work with Alanna to craft a unique menu including fun hor d'overs and desserts. There are no shortage of options! During the wedding Alanna made sure that two staff followed us during cocktail hour to make sure Ryan and I had plenty of food to eat.

Not only is The Exchange stunning and the food some of the best we have had, the staff made our experience unforgettable! We highly recommend having your wedding here! True Hidden Gem that won't stay hidden for long!!

The views will catch your eye, but the staff will make you stay!

My husband and I cannot recommend the Exchange Conference Center to enough people. We got married in August. We were looking for a space that would accommodate our 200-person guest list and be unique. We found all of this at the Exchange!
We had our ceremony and dancing inside and the cocktail hour and dinner outside. The dinner was under a tent, which was beautiful along the waterfront.
While the venue and views are absolutely gorgeous, the staff is what made our day flawless and allowed us to enjoy every part. I honestly made my venue choice on Lauren’s prompt response time to my first list of questions and her quick proposal. Lauren was fabulous to work with. She answered all my questions. She assisted with our tasting and picking out of linens. She held meetings with us when necessary and when we requested. Lauren communicated with all of our vendors to come up with a comprehensive timeline, which all my vendors complimented. She made me feel like I was the only bride she had in 2019! The day of Lauren, Andrea and the rest of the staff made sure we were taken care of- if there were any problems I had no idea.
East Meets West made choosing the food a challenge with all their wonderful options. The food was amazing. I am still dreaming about the mini fish tacos! I was amazed at the quality and presentation that went into every dish. We also had many food allergies and restrictions that were accommodated.
All in all, we had a great experience and we would do it all over again at the Exchange!

Truly the Best of Everything in Boston!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience at The Exchange Conference Center. It’s definitely a hidden gem in Boston with a unique and memorable indoor/outdoor wedding option. It’s so Boston and we loved every second! It’s even walking distance to hotels, restaurants, the T, and airport - perfect for out of town guests. We had an outdoor ceremony, outdoor cocktail hour, and indoor reception for 150 guests. Everything from first contact with the venue, working with Lauren Gertz through the planning process (who is fabulous, very organized and so kind), to the actual day was seamless, beautiful, and delicious. It is an East Meets West property, but they are one of the best caterers in town. They were super accommodating to our tastes and preferences. Even our private tasting event blew us out of the water. This venue is very customizable in every aspect. What was most helpful is that you have the whole building throughout the day so my wedding party and I had a space to get ready ALL day. We could even store things there a few days before so we didn’t have to worry about forgetting anything. It was a great experience all-around and I cannot say enough fabulous things about ECC and Lauren!

    Everything was flawless!

We began working with Lauren and the team at the Exchange in November 2017 (in advance of our June 2019 wedding). Throughout the nearly year and a half the team was extremely responsive and accommodating, and they provided amazing guidance. Our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were all on-site, and everything was truly seamless. It seemed that our guests universally loved everything from the venue to the food (as did we!), and the day was truly perfect thanks to Lauren and the entire team.

    Amazing Experience

I can’t say enough good things about The Exchange. We fell in love with this venue the first time we saw it and our wedding this past June exceeded all expectations. Lauren was so easy to work with and made the whole planning process stress free. The placed looked amazing the food was great and I would not have wanted to have my wedding anywhere else. They even have a person solely there to make sure the bride and groom always had food or a drink in hand!

We had both our ceremony and reception at The Exchange one month ago! If you are looking for a unique, upscale and memorable wedding venue in Boston, this is the ONE. It is an absolutely gorgeous venue and on your wedding day, it looks even better! Michele and Alanna and their entire team are amazing. The food is extremely high quality. We had stations (sushi, carving, salad wall and dessert). Our guests have told us they ate more at our wedding than any other they have attended. People lost their minds over the sushi. The Exchange is located at the end of the fish pier in the Seaport...how could we not have sushi? The main room is spectacular. You will NOT get a better view in Boston. You are literally right on the harbor. You don't need to decorate much at all. You can rent lights from them for the ceiling, which I highly recommend. For flowers, use Artistic Blooms (Camille and Kelly)! They work with The Exchange regularly, so that part was seamless! We had a donut table for our late night snack. The team is so creative, they displayed them beautifully and again, guests are still talking about it. No other choice, but to use Kane's Donuts...best in Boston. Having our ceremony and reception at the same venue was a priority for us. Michele and Alanna made it all happen so perfectly and they made it seem effortless. I know it was not, but they remain so in control and professional...they make it all about the bride and groom. They are easy to talk with, they listen, they are responsive, they follow-up, they offer ideas and suggestions. It was a positive experience from beginning to end. We recommend The Exchange without reservation!! Good luck and congratulations!

My husband and I got married at the Exchange Conference Center this June. I was interested in having a unique wedding venue and wanted to avoid getting married in a hotel ballroom. We had our ceremony and reception at the Exchange and then had cocktail hour outside. We selected this venue because we loved the architecture of the old historic building and for its location directly on the water. One huge plus for us when we were choosing the Exchange was the rain back-up plan. If it rained on our wedding day we would be able to have cocktail hour upstairs on the second floor. Some places we looked at didn't have a great rain back-up plan. I love how easy the venue is to get to in Boston and all of the hotel options there are to choose from. We had our wedding block at the Renaissance Marriott as well as the Seaport Boston Hotel. Both are great options and walking distance for our guests once the night was over. We took family formal photos in front of the venue as well as in the back on the water. The photos came out great (I would highly recommend Andrea Servidone if you are looking for a photographer). We didn't use the getting ready rooms on the 3rd floor but hung out in them before the ceremony started. Lauren was our event coordinator and she was fantastic. Lauren made herself available to us whenever we had a question. We wanted to try our exact wedding meal before the big day and Lauren had everything packaged up for us to have at our home. The customer service that she showed us was really amazing. On the day of she made sure everything went smoothly. Nothing was out of place and it was exactly how I imagined it to look. The staff there is truly fantastic and so helpful and pleasant to work with. We really had a wonderful time and I cannot recommend the Exchange enough. One of the best parts of our wedding was during cocktail hour, being outside with our family and friends and watching all the sailboats go by was really a lot of fun. Everyone who attended

    Amazing Wedding Reception venue!

We held out wedding reception at the Exchange in early June and had an amazing experience. Lauren and the staff couldnt have been more accomodating. From running to the dry cleaners to get my veil steamed the day of in a mini-emergency, to flawlessly executing my ideas for decor and presentation and checking in throughout the entire night, we couldnt have been more pleased! The food is AMAZING; so fresh and well prepared to our liking! Not to mention the beautiful scenery!!!

We held our wedding reception at the Exchange Conference Center on Friday, August 22nd, 2014. The venue is amazing! We never knew it existed but are so grateful someone recommended it to us when we started our search. We couldn't imagine having our wedding reception anywhere else. It is at the end of the fish pier, right on the water and if you are lucky enough to have cocktails outside, there is no place like it in the city. It is a gem in the heart of the seaport area of Boston.

We couldn't have asked for a more professional and thoughtful staff as well. Both Rebecca Thomas and Michele Stump were amazing when it came to help planning for our special night. They covered everything imaginable and added custom touches that we would never have even thought of. The night of the event went off without a hitch, from the cocktail hour being outside on the terrace to the room being set up beyond our wildest expectations. They ensured the evening flowed exactly as planned and their staff was attentive and over the top courteous, especially Andrea, she was terrific. They always made us feel as though we had nothing to worry about and they were right, we enjoyed our reception the way a newly married couple should, without any stress.

So if you want to get married in Boston, at a venue like no other, and want a stress free best night of your life experience, look no further than the Exchange Conference Center. You won't be disappointed.

I had my wedding on August 24, 2013 at the Exchange Conference Center. Michele Stump worked with me to customize the menu and venue. Michele is an expert wedding planner. She was able to offer excellent suggestions. We ended up doing beautiful string lights that made the room romantic. The food from East Meets West Catering was unbelievable. I highly recommend this intimate venue for weddings that have anywhere from 80-150 guests. We had close to 140 guests, and we thought the room would be tight, but it wasn't at all. There are many options for layouts that can work with a whole range of guests.

We had the cocktail hour outside on the patio. I have to say that Michele steered us in the right direction with all of our alcohol pricing and menu pricing. She made sure we were getting the best options for the money.

I highly recommend this as a venue choice. It's right on the water, there is free parking for guests, you can have an outdoor cocktail option (inside option if rain), and it is the most beautiful setting in Boston.

It was very important to me that I not have ugly hotel carpets and a large ballroom for my wedding reception so I began to look at unique venues. I fell in love with the Exchange Conference Center because of their clean facility, hardwood floors and sweeping views of the Boston Harbor. What a hidden gem! We had a gorgeous view outside during our cocktail hour. East Meets West is the exclusive caterer, and the food was fabulous! You don't get a "package," you're able to customize everything so you can work within your budget. It is such an intimate setting for a wedding. We had 100 people and it fit perfectly with plenty of room for a lounge/bar area. Rebecca, one of their event planners was wonderful to work with.

We chose to get married at the Exchange last summer and we could not have been happier that we did! Events are run through East Meets West Catering, and we worked with Rebecca as our site manager. From the day we met her she could not have been more happy to assist us in any way we needed. She coordinated the food, extra tent outside and worked very well with our planner and other vendors. We were worried that the space would feel like a conference center-but we added market lights which totally changed the mood and worked perfectly with the views and the feel we were going for. In the end, all the little extras that the Exchange coordinated, totally took the "conference center" out of the venue.

Working with Rebecca felt like cheating because we felt like we didn't have to work half as hard as our friends did with planning their own weddings.

The comment that we hear over and over is how FABULOUS the food was. And this is coming from pretty big foodies. (Ourselves included!) We were blown away at our tasting, but had some reservations that they would be able to accomplish the same quality for 160 people. But everything was great-if not better than the tasting.

Our only con about the Exchange was that we felt like they were pushing us within a half hour of when we were supposed to vacate. We understand the need to have guests out, but when a guest orders a fresh drink and puts it down to dance only to come back and find the drink has been cleared moments later is a bit frustrating. But in the grand scheme of weddings this is such a small issue that it didn't change our overall opinion of the Exchange.

The Exchange is a great venue that is in the middle of everything and extremely easy for out of town guests to access. They can walk to sites in downtown, or stay in the Seaport District and walk to and from the venue-which is always a plus after partying a bit too hard at a great wedding.

This spot was so perfect! A total hidden gem! You cannot beat a view 40 feet from Boston Harbor.

The facility was perfect for a medium size wedding, we had 125 and it was perfect. The place was easily accessible and the free parking is a blessing for a Boston wedding, we actually shuttled people to the ceremony and they were able to park at the location for free.

We were lucky enough to have a beautiful day with everyone being able to be outside. The fact that this place is run by East Meets West Catering is amazing (see that review) because the food was insanely good, the service was amazing and the planner we worked with couldn't have been more helpful.

I would 100% recommend this place for a wedding!

I can't say enough about this venue. The staff is excellent. Sara is so helpful and makes everything easy for you. The tasting is impeccable. Gregg is wonderful and they will accommodate any guest. Legal Seafoods is the caterer, they own it and every single person that I spoke to as well as my parents and my husband raved about all the food, which is rare at weddings. The spot is breathtaking if you have a nice day and it's a nice time of the year to be outside. It's a hidden gem, from what everyone said. It can hold 145 people, cozy, but well, I did it - sit down with dancing and a DJ. Everything was clean and to specification. There are hotels nearby. The outside back terrace is so nice and not far off from the indoors that it feels far off or separated from everyone else. It truly is one of the best places to have a reception. The only reason I was hesitant to book it so quickly was because of fitting 150 ppl, but once I felt like we could, I booked it immediately. Other than that I was sold. Oh the bathrooms are so gorgeous too!

What can I say about the ECC? Beautiful... Flexible... Delicious... everything you are looking for in a reception location and caterer! Alison was incredibly thorough and patient throughout the planning process. The room is stunning, and the view is like none other in the city. I'm serious - you have to see it. We (fortunately) had a beautiful day, so guests were going in & out all evening.

The food... WOW. With the folks at Legal Seafoods behind it, how can you go wrong. Every appetizer was amazing & creative. The wine that was recommended for pairings were spot on. Entrees were outstanding. Plating was fantastic.

All in all - it was an amazingly beautiful reception, thanks to the folks at the ECC. I'm still getting compliments on it!

The Exchange made our delayed COVID wedding the perfect celebration

The Exchange delivered everything we wanted. We started working with our coordinator Alanna in 2019, and they were responsive and easy to work with from the start. When we needed to postpone, we moved to our new date, and it was a very smooth process. We are grateful the Exchange was so accommodating during that period. The timeline moved pretty quickly once things opened up in the city of Boston, but Alanna was on top of everything to keep us on track.

The day of everything was handled so well. We were able to set up the day before, and there was multiple staff to help with anything we needed. Our day-of coordinator was absolutely amazing. They were there from the start to the end. We had some extra flowers and she found ways to use them around our chuppah. We did not have to stress about anything.

Our cocktail hour was outside on the water - and it was a perfect day for our guests to enjoy the boats going by and the sunset! The food was awesome! We decided to do stations for dinner, and we had themes that our coordinator made come to life. We had some dietary requests and the caterer was super accommodating for us. We did have servers, who were very nice and professional. We heard nothing but rave reviews about the food.

We had around 100 people at 13 tables. We were very comfortable with this number (especially due to COVID) but there was plenty of room and we gave extra room to people at the tables.

We postponed our marriage and wedding celebration because we knew the Exchange would be great and it absolutely was. Luckily we had a picture-perfect day, and being on the water with all the boats going by was absolutely gorgeous.

    Definitely check it out

If you are looking for a wedding in Boston I highly recommend visitng The Exchange. Beatiful venue ... We didn't end up booking because our wedding was going to be over 200 guests which meant going outside, and we still considered it but went in a different direction. The Exchange food and beverage menu had a lot to offer and was very flexible. Everything is customizable. The layout and location is different but awesome! I highly recommended taking a look. And Alanna was a delight to work with :)
