It is now approx. 9 months after our magical wedding and we are still happily married- ha! I proposed at this hotel, married the women of my dreams in this hotel and will try my best to celebrate annually at this hotel.

Honestly, this hotel was randomly selected for us during a weekend visit to DC and once I saw it online I knew I needed to make it official. It was the same feeling as when I first met my now wife for the first time-- Destined to be.

We booked this location almost 11 months in advance due to the date popularity. During the process, the original event coordinator left and we continued to have a wonderful experience. They answered all of our questions and concerns and made the function as stress free as possible. We had only one hiccup with one of our maid of honors room reservation, but that was an issue with a different department and was corrected within 24 hours.

Our family and friends are still discussing how amazing the wedding was and we owe a lot to the overall presentation of the stunning boutique hotel and it's staff. We planned the vendors while they made sure everyone was comfortable and well taken care of. The diversity of the staff made it even more enjoyable and it felt like everyone was a part of our wedding family.

The event coordinator and her team, the chef and his staff and the overall hotel experience was given high praise by us and our guest. Still shocked how well things went and the overall feedback from our guest- Hugs, The Thompson's

THIS IS THE VENUE WHERE DREAMS COME TRUE! Our wedding could not have happened without the FABULOUS team at the Fairfax Embassy Row Hotel. The food was PERFECT, the setting was BEAUTIFUL and the catering team are strict professionals. The director of catering and sales took care of our entire wedding party and guest and made our day a night to remember.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at The Fairfax in August 2014. The short version of the story is that we were extremely pleased and would highly recommend it. But I'll give you the longer review as well.

We chose the Fairfax for several reasons. First of all, it looks amazing. They have a good website which initially drew us to it, and the ballroom looks as good or better in person as it does in the pictures. My wife and I aren't the most creative people when it comes to decorations, so we wanted a place that looked nice without having to do much to it. The Fairfax fit the bill there. We didn't do too much ourselves and it looked amazing.

The size of the venue was perfect for us. We ended up having 133 guests. That was a good number for the space. It probably could have held a little over 150 before maybe feeling a little cramped.

We had our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception all at the Fairfax. After the ceremony we held the cocktail hour in a nearby area while the staff transformed the ballroom from the ceremony to the reception. They did a perfect job on the switchover, there were no problems and it looked exactly like we hoped.

Sesyle was the catering director and she was great. She was nice and knowledgeable. She helped us customize our menu. All the hors d'oeuvres and entrees tasted really good (which was important to us).

The pricing, while not cheap (weddings never are), was lower than a lot of other hotels that looked to be of similar quality.

Overall, if we had to do our wedding over again, we would certainly choose the Fairfax again.

My partner and I were recently married at the Fairfax Hotel. The event was magical from beginning to end. Our primary contacts at the Hotel, Mitchell Bierbaum DIRECTOR OF CATERING SALES and Monique Elkassar RESERVATIONS COORDINATOR, were exceptionally professional and easy to work with. The venue was gorgeous. The food, prepared under the direction of Chris Ferrier, was absolutely delicious. Everyone at the hotel rallied to make sure that we had the time of our lives, and we did.
The ballroom, aside from being beautiful, has some great features. For example, it is square and open (most large rooms in DC have columns for support) which allowed all of our guests to be seated in the same room for dinner. All guests had a great view of the room and the space was easy to utilize. The room easily held our 150 guests plus for dinner with a large dance floor. There is a built in stage which can be used for the ceremony and for a wedding band. The lighting and décor are beautiful and classically elegant. The room is neither dated nor trendy but simply elegant.
The hotel has only one ballroom and therefore only one large event at a time. This allows the staff to focus and gives the venue a private feel. We were not considering a hotel wedding because we like intimate events; however, when we stumbled upon this ballroom (and Mitch) we were hooked. Beautiful space, intimate space, historical space, great people, great food, great service=a great wedding venue.

When I first saw the venue online I thought the place was gorgeous. I was speechless when I first entered the ballroom on my first visit. I fell in love with the high ceiling, window decors and chandeliers. The hotel was just beautiful. I had a grand feeling to it. The director of catering Mitchell was very pleasant to work with and he stayed on top of things. Although he had to take a personal leave a couple weeks before the wedding day, they had another person in charge and everything ran smoothly. The food and service were great.

We had our reception at the Fairfax and everything was perfect. I really enjoyed working with Mitchell the catering director, he had a lot of experience and was always there to answer our many questions. The ballroom at the Fairfax is so beautiful, all our guests are still talking about how beautiful and delicious everything was. Thank you Mitchell for helping us put together a beautiful wedding!

My family held our reception for my daughter’s wedding at your hotel. Your staff made our celebration weekend a wonderful success! Everyone from the front desk staff to the catering staff to the chef worked hard to make this a spectacular event for my family. The food was incredibly delicious, the rooms were lovely, the ballroom was gorgeous, and the service was superlative.

I want to single out Mitch Bierbaum and Abdulla Almutairi for their exceptional efforts on our behalf. Mitch’s professionalism was evident from our first meeting, and his attentiveness, organizational skills, and attention to detail ensured an event that was beautifully planned and ran smoothly. Abdulla’s responsiveness, his friendly notes updating me on reservation status, and his efforts to make our initial check in process go more smoothly made him a pleasure to work with.

We would highly recommend your hotel to anyone planning a special event, and we intend to do so! Thanks again to you and your staff for making this most important of weekends for my family such a wonderfully memorable one.

The Fairfax at Embassy Row was the location of our wedding reception which ended up being the perfect ballroom for such an event! Our initial wedding planner left about a month before our wedding date, and was replaced by Mitchell Bierbaum Director of Catering. Mitchell was a blessing in disguise! He dotted all the I's and crossed all the T's...making our wedding reception perfect. The food was amazing, the service was impeccable, and the venue was beautiful.

The Fairfax Embassy Row is the perfect venue for an elegant, intimate DC wedding. Their ballroom was made for weddings! It is a pricey venue but the quality of service cannot be beat. They were also willing work with me a little to accommodate my budget. Cecilia was responsive and a pleasure to work with. My family is still commenting about how wonderful the staff was at the hotel. From the doormen, to the catering manager everyone was a pleasure to work with. The food was fabulous, the portions were generous and the room was perfect. I would definitely recommend The Fairfax for a wedding.

From the moment I first called her, Cecilia was so nice and so transparent. I was very pleasantly surprised when Cecilia told me about everything from pricing down to what might be on the menu without asking about my budget. She is so sweet -- and geniunely so. She contacted my vendors, and they were easily able to get in touch with her in return.

The hotel itself is gorgeous. I loved the ballroom, which is so elegant, even without all the dressings of a wedding. Our budget was limited, so we weren't able to splurge on fancy centerpieces. No need. The ballroom contains its own beauty, and too many extra garnishes would have looked ridiculous.

The staff was incredible. Everyone, EVERYONE was so friendly and accommodating. For example, on the day-of, there was a mix-up with the groom's hotel room (one queen bed to be shared with the best man). He called Cecilia and was put into another room (with 2 beds) immediately.

Two other things I loved about the Fairfax: you're the only wedding, so you're referred to as "The Wedding," and you get to stay in the Presidential Suite. I stayed the night before and had my stylist and make-up artist come there (far less stressful that way). The lighting in the bathroom was perfect for both. We even had breakfast room serviced in -- it was set up so nicely, with a white tablecloth, placesettings, and all. (And the food? AMAZING!)

I considered getting a day-of wedding planner, but I didn't need to. My ceremony went just fine, and I left all aspects of the reception in the Fairfax staff's very capable hands. They really do want you to have fun and not worry about a thing, and they work with your wedding party (or wedding planner, presumably) to make sure that everything is taken care of.

My hairstylist remarked that I was the calmest bride she'd ever seen. I owe part of that to the Fairfax, who made my wedding planning experience virtually seamless.

My husband and I were married on June 18, 2011, and our reception was held at the Fairfax at Embassy Row. I really can't say enough wonderful things about the hotel. Cecilia and her team of amazing people did a wonderful job of getting everything together and making sure everything was perfect for the night.

Throughout the planning process Cecilia became very close with us and really took into account what was important to us and made the day and the night perfect. Of course we had our hicups that day just like every wedding does (limo issues and hair issues) but none of them included the Fairfax. In fact they were helpful when things did go wrong. It was easy to trust them and let go of the details, which was hard for me.

Some of the great things about the hotel are the staff, the fact that you are the only event at the hotel, the location, the food and the hotel itself. I had people coming up to me in the middle of the wedding and even before it saying that it was by far the best hotel they had stayed at and that the wedding was amazing. Also, a note on the food, the filet was so tender and good some people were even able to cut it with a fork! Plus, I am not sure if it is on the current menu but people raved about the champagne risotto with lobster.

More than anything I just want to thank Cecilia and all of the wonderful people that helped make our day great!!!!! Kris and I had an amazing wedding and we are so thankful to you all for making that happen!

I can't say enough about Scott Button who coordinates the events at the Westin. It was a very memorable experience and it was exactly what I was looking for. It had a nice Washington feel to the room. I have heard that they upgraded the room now. Scott was very responsive to all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable from day one. He was very accomodating with our budget.

Scott Button and his team at the Westin- Embassy Row truly have it all together. Even our parents were impressed on the days leading up to the event and the day itself at how responsive Scott and his team were. Most things never even needed to be asked as Scott took a lot of initiative to have them taken care of before we could notice, calculate, and find him. It took a ton of stress off of our shoulders and allowed us more time to spend with our guests. Scott was also amazing in providing recommendations for other vendors to use throughout the city including our florist, Amarylis which Scott clearly had a tight relationship with and as a result helped in ideas and designs that he felt were most attractive in the Ballroom at the Westin- Embassy Row. The flowers among so many other aspects are still talked about by our friends and family today! It was an amazing experience and a day worth remembering thanks to all of Scott's professional experience and the hard work and effort of his team that was evident throughout every aspect of our day. We wish we could do it all over again just to experience it one more time. We, our entire family and friends present that day, would happily recommend the Westin-Embassy Row and Scott Button to any other couple looking for the perfect venue with the perfect staff which will solidify the success of one of the most important days in their lives.

The Westin Embassy Row was the perfect venue for our wedding reception. We envisioned an event that was traditional and formal, but still intimate, warm and FUN! The generous dance floor and elevated stage worked perfectly with a live band. And the venue's policy of having only one event per day ensured that we were well taken care of at every stage.

The food also far exceeded our expectations (especially given that we did not "upgrade" from the standard package) and Scott Button and his staff were true professionals. They were respectful of our preferences and attentive to every detail. We loved working with them and felt like pampered guests at our own wedding!

We loved our wedding at The Fairfax at Embassy Row. It's ballroom is stunning which allowed us to have a very budget conscious wedding as we didn't need to upgrade chairs or table linens or bring in a lot of outside decorations. When we signed our contract they worked around our budget and made it very possible for us to have our wedding there (for example, they allowed us to take wine service with dinner out to reduce the cost). The months leading up to our wedding we began communicating through Scott Moon who was amazing and accommodated everything I asked for. The food during our cocktail reception and our dinner was wonderful. The portions were large, the quality was terrific, and many of my guests mentioned to me how much they loved their dinner. The Fairfax at Embassy Row made my wedding day feel special and I loved everything about the day!

Excellent wedding venue. Beautiful room. Responsive staff. Flexible with vendors. Good value. Excellent food. Hotel rooms were beautiful for guests. Had several issues with the billing department who charged my credit card twice on the day of the wedding for the remainder of the balance leading to the credit card being suspended. They resolved this quickly though. Otherwise excellent experience.

What can we say...we had a wonderful experience at the Fairfax! Mitchell, the director of catering, was the embodiment of professionalism. Mitchell was on top of every detail and even impressed my detail obsessed fiance. He was a pleasure to work with from our initial meeting, to the tasting, and the day of. All of our guests had a great time and specifically complimented the venue and staff for the reception and their stay. The Fairfax is a great venue, well situated, and elegant. It certainly isn't a budget option, but we can't recommend the Fairfax enough.

Our wedding at The Fairfax at Embassy Row was beyond perfect! The hotel and ballroom were beautiful, the food was exquisite and the service and professionalism of each staff member we came in contact with was top notch. Our guests could not stop raving about the hotel and the service- when they tell you white glove service, they mean it from beginning to end! Mitchell was a pleasure to work with and he and his staff made sure our wedding went off without a hitch. I would 100% recommend The Fairfax for a wedding or any event, I wish we had a reason to stay there again, but we live in the area!

Our experience at the Fairfax was wonderful. Our questions were answered clearly and quickly. The staff worked closely with us to make sure the event met our specifications. And everyone we met was very easy to work with. There were a few minor hiccups along the way but nothing that ever caused us much stress or jeopardized the event. If every couple were to have had the care and service given to us by the Fairfax, we'd be that much closer to world peace.

The Westin Embassy Row was a spectacular location for our reception. The venue is truly unique and doesn't feel like just another hotel ballroom. There's the appropriate sense of drama to the location with cocktails held upstairs overlooking the ballroom and band. I also loved the separate entrance and restrooms for the ballroom so guests didn't get mixed up in the lobby. The ballroom itself is the perfect size, allowing each table a good view of the band and dance floor (no poles). The food/catering was also well done--many of our guests commented on the delicious meal. I also liked the signature china the food was served on.
The Westin staff was incredibly helpful to our guests and accommodated several last minute surprises--this included finding a large screen and A-V equipment when my brother surpised us with a video presentation! The venue is also ideal for a band--which was showcased so well on the stage behind the dance floor.
The overall location of the hotel is another reason we chose it. With a large contingent of out-of-town guests, we knew they'd want to see Washington D.C. so having the event downtown really worked well. Most out-of-town guests made it a long weekend in order to see the city. Valet parking for those that drove also avoided parking concerns. Proximity to bars/restaurants in Dupont was yet another plus.
As far as the budget was concerned, we made it work because, after seeing tons of venues in DC and VA, we found it was the only place that offered the uniqueness, quality, and convenience we wanted. You really can't go wrong here--it's a memorable and magical place for a wedding.

Due to the curfew in Baltimore, we had to change our wedding location 3 days before our planned wedding date! The Fairfax at Embassy Row surprisingly had availability on a Saturday in May, and we jumped on it. Beautiful architecture in the middle of one of the hubs of diversity and just off of Dupont Circle. Great for all of our guests from outside of the area to easily walk around. The Fairfax was very flexible in helping organize a wedding with such a short timeline. The wedding size (around 200) pushed the capacity limits of the venue, but we were able to get married in a historic venue as planned. We did not have a traditional wedding planner working with us, but rather a salesperson, which led to a little tension in some of the planning phases, but overall a great experience and venue. Thank you, again, for hosting our wedding on such short notice!

The Fairfax at Embassy Row was the only venue I viewed and immediately loved it. The ballroom is beautiful, and you have the luxury of having all the amenities of a hotel, without having to worry about multiple events going on at the same time. In addition, the staff was amazing and responded to our every request.
