From the beginning of our day to picking up our things at the end of the event everyone was amazing.

We held our wedding at The Farmhouse/Silo in August 2024 and were initially drawn to the venue because of the option to rent the entire space, which was a significant selling point for us. However, the main factor that influenced our rating was the communication challenges we experienced with our coordinator during the planning process. Responses to our questions and follow-ups often took 3+ days, creating unnecessary stress. It appeared that the coordinator was juggling multiple responsibilities, and there was a sense of disorganization at times.

On the day of the wedding, some smaller requests, such as having mezcal for the bride and serving the bride and groom pasta from the paid pasta bar, were not fulfilled. Additionally, when we returned the next day to collect our props and any items left behind, there was no one available to provide our leftover cake, so we couldn't save it for our first anniversary.

On a positive note, the coordinator and assistant were quick to step in and handle minor issues that arose on the wedding day, which we appreciated, though we felt this was within the scope of their role. The execution of table settings and event flow was well done, and the food was good, though not exceptional.

Overall, while the venue has many great aspects, if you're looking for a flawlessly organized experience, there are some areas that could benefit from improvement.

The Silo at Farmhouse is an exceptionally picturesque venue, complete with a management team and staff who exude politeness and respectfulness. Their professionalism is commendable. However, the culinary experience did not match the visual splendor. The cocktail hour appetizers were reminiscent of the complimentary frozen food samples one might find at a wholesale club. As for the spirits, they were decidedly budget-conscious, lacking the premium quality one might expect. Dinner further underscored this disparity; a glance around the table revealed many untouched plates, a silent testament to the guests’ dissatisfaction. Despite the food’s artful presentation, it was clear that the taste did not live up to its visual promise, especially considering the price.

The staff at The Farmhouse is absolutely amazing. Kim, as the bartender, crafts the most delicious and creative cocktails, making every guest's experience enjoyable and memorable. George, as the maître d', ensures that everything runs smoothly and that every guest feels like a VIP. The gentleman in glasses as well as Patrick assisted towards our every wish. They catered towards our every need, from start to finish. With their versatility and willingness to help out in any way, contribute to the seamless operation of the venue. Their dedication, teamwork, and attention to detail make them incredibly valuable assets to The Farmhouse. The staff's passion for their work shines through in every interaction, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all. I can't recommend them enough!!

WARNING BRIDES AND GROOMS BEWARE! I myself was only a guest at these two events. I have been to the Farmhouse venue twice in my life and I can say my two experiences have differed extremely! My first experience as a guest was during the summer for a coworker’s wedding. The venue was still under construction on one side, but it was quite a beautiful place. We read reviews about how great the food was, how beautiful the venue was and how great the staff were! Those reviews did not disappoint but there were problems that I had during my stay both times. For my first experience throughout the wedding, I had noticed the bartenders over pouring for customers. Now I am not complaining about getting some extra booze in my glass, but I don’t think the management was watching them at all. And if they were they did not seem to care one bit. It was very apparent as people became heavily under the influence. Even after this the bartenders still served them, that is highly unprofessional and unsafe! Not only were the bartenders overpouring but when I had a conversation with their maître’d George he reeked of alcohol and cigarettes! During our conversation it seemed that he wasn’t able to keep his words straight and had trouble focusing. He had a distinct smell of alcohol on his breath, and I soon became uncomfortable because of it. Speaking of smells from one of the bars I got a whiff of what smelt like marijuana coming from I believe her name was Kim. She served some guests shots from white paper cups and made me feel like I was at a house party rather than a wedding. Besides those problems from the first party the rest of the event was great, and I really enjoyed my time there. My second experience was pretty recent, I can sure say that the venue has changed a whole lot since the last time I was there. The silo side was finally open, it’s quite beautiful on its own but the flooring is something to be discussed. It also is very, for lack of a better term, Plain. It is mostly just white walls in the cocktail room feeling like a compact minimalist room. My same problems with George still stand as my friend said she smelt a whiff of alcohol on him. The food had also changed, I read a review in the past about this place a photographer saying that the food was not cookie cutter and amazing, I can confirm that from my first visit, but my second visit felt like I was getting served food from any low-end wedding venue. There was no soul or flavor behind it, it felt very cookie cutter and sad to say the least. The customer service from the servers was great and they made me feel very at home and they catered to my every need. But the bartenders continued to overpour still and I even witnessed one of them taking quick drinks here and there, I believe his name was Corey or Patrick, he was very distinct with his slick back hair. Overall, I really have to recommend you stay away from this place at all costs, save your money and book something where the staff isn’t drinking, smoking pot on the job or you want to actually experience food that’s not the same as every other venue you’ve been to. If you have already made plans with this venue and it’s too late for you to pull out, I’m feel sorry for you! I hope you still enjoy your special day but wish you could’ve had the chance to know this all before you booked your event!

I’m going to keep this short and sweet. The venue was amazing. It was rustic without being a barn and it was perfect. The people are so helpful and the food is amazing!

Here are the things you need to know
-There will be tours given throughout the time you are getting ready for your wedding- your coordinator will definitely give more attention to these ten couples than she will to you all day.
-the light breakfast is a couple of cold minuscule quiches, fruit, and a couple of danishes.
-mimosa bar has the champagne but only 2 flukes, and no orange juice.
-bridal suite is small, so you will get ready in the cocktail hour space- and the staff won't clean that up until guests arrive
-all problems will be blamed on the fact that there was a wedding with an afterparty the night before that ended at 2 am.
-the day of coordinator is not around, nor will she ever be around.
-bridal suite attendant will introduce themselves and disappear never to be seen again.
-coordinator will state "this is the first time I am looking at the ceremony plan" 45 minutes before the wedding is to start.
-"practice" will consist of your frustration due to the coordinator not having the most updated list- that was most definitely emailed to her in the correspondences your shared.
-staff wont set up your decor for you to approve before your ceremony, so your bridesmaids have to do it while you get ready alone.
-Staff will set your tables behind white pipe and drape during your ceremony, drop plates, glasses and silverware the whole time while talking and laughing.
-Coordinator won't show up for ceremony so your bridesmaids have to get it started.
-cocktail hour will have 2 servers who never make it past the the first bar.
-salad will be served almost right away for the reception, but dinner will be served almost two hours later and cold.
-dessert is missed by most of the guests as they want to dance for the last 30 minutes of your wedding because that's all they are going to get since dinner was so late.
-your dream sparkler exit has to again be organized by your bridesmaids because yet again, surprise surprise coordinator is no where to be found.

If you are going with this venue HIRE A DAY OF COORDINATOR. the one from the venue does not care about your day. They care about getting more couples to sign the paperwork. They care about the venue, not you.

But honestly, the treatment you get the day of is horrendous. Yes everyone we encountered was pleasant, but pleasant conversations the day of don't make the day go smoothly. The hard work to make your dreams come true do, and that was not present on this day. Don't book with this venue. Run far away. They can't handle weddings, especially two in one weekend.

We absolutely loved our wedding at The Farmhouse! We had a hard time finding an venue that was rustic (but not too rustic) and elegant (but not stuffy or ridiculously expensive). Then we found the Farmhouse! :) We got married on July 29 and the outdoor ceremony space was absolutely stunning. The ballroom was just as gorgeous with its beautiful fireplace and romantic chandeliers. It was truly a fairy tale. Debbie and the whole team are absolute experts and the entire wedding ran like a well-oiled machine. We got SO many compliments on the food, especially at the cocktail hour. When guests talk to us about our wedding now, they usually bring up the food at cocktail hour :P We cannot recommend The Farmhouse enough. We had our dream wedding at this venue.

Overall everything was great. The food was great, place and grounds were beautiful. My biggest issue was all the minor things. All the linens didnt match. I had to ask for more forks to be put out during cocktail hour since they were all gone. I didnt see all of the appetizers being passed (I was only offered the same apps over and over). There was so much food though which is a HUGE plus. A bunch of tables I talked to were never served wedding cake (neither were we). There was clearly some confusion about the way things were supposed to go. The wait staff and bar tenders were awesome. It was still a beautiful night and everyone had a great time.

Being part of a landmark venue we were promised "an extraordinary experience". I'll be the first to say this was far from the truth. The service was TERRIBLE! I understand "times are tough" but when you're promised there would be at least one server per table, in addition to enough chairs for your guests for the ceremony, we were extremely disappointed. Don't get me wrong, the space, food and atmosphere are/were BEAUTIFUL! However, the lack of service and hospitality was far from what the contract promised.

There are better places to spend your hard earned money. They have no idea what they are doing there.

I had my wedding at the Farmhouse this past weekend and I could not say anything could have been more perfect. They worked with us though the pandemic, helped manage vendors and timing. The food was phenomenal. The patio was gorgeous. I recommend this venue to everyone.

We had our wedding reception at The Farmhouse on 10/30/20, and we could not have asked for a more perfect night. One month later, my guests can't stop talking about how beautiful the night was and how much fun they had! With the constantly changing rules and regulations, social distancing, and all around craziness of 2020, I had Andrea on the phone several times a week asking questions and looking for updates, and she could not have been more helpful and flexible - down to the day before the reception when we changed the location of our dance floor last minute. Andrea and her staff were professional and extremely attentive, especially my bridal attendant Sam - she was the best! As for the food, I was blown away. From the passed apps during cocktail hour to our main entrees, everything was absolutely delicious. We are extremely happy we chose The Farmhouse for our wedding and would highly recommend this venue!

We just had our mini-wedding at The Farmhouse on 11/14/2020 after the long, CRAZY journey that is 2020 wedding planning. The day ended up being absolutely beautiful, and we are so thankful that we had Andrea to guide us through everything this year. We originally planned to have about 175 people, though postponed our larger ceremony to spring 2021 - we kept our original date & so happy we did. Andrea was more than flexible and helpful through this entire process, especially with the many changes, questions, and worries that came up along the way. Andrea and the rest of the staff were amazingly attentive, positive, and overall wonderful the entire day and night of! Couldn't recommend this beautiful venue any more - with it guided by Andrea, you are sure to have a wonderful experience!

We booked the Farmhouse back in 2017, I am so happy we did. In 2019, they were purchased by Landmark Hospitality. Being concerned, I reached out to Rebecca to see if we could meet. She took the time to sit down with us and explain the changes being made. When I was feeling a bit uneasy about the change in owners she sat down again with me, my fiance, and parents to go over every question I had (it took almost 2 hours). She really went above and beyond to put my mind at ease and make sure I was comfortable with having my wedding there. From then on, she was in constant communication with us about the renovations. After the renovations, the Farmhouse looks gorgeous and the fireplace is stunning. All my guests complimented how elegant and beautiful the place looked. As for food, I was blown away by the chef at the Farmhouse. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about how good the food was, especially for cocktail hour.
As for the staff, everyone was friendly and willing to help! They all went above and beyond to make our day perfect! I have a disease where my hands turn blue if I get cold. One of the waiters got me a hot cup to keep my hands warm in between photos. My bridal attendant Laura was like a second mom that day. She was so attentive and made sure my bridal party was taken care of. She was wonderful to work with! Sam, our Matre d’, was so on top of everything. She made sure everyone was on time and kept our wedding running so smoothly!
Overall, the Farmhouse made our day beyond perfect! I am so happy we booked with them and would highly recommend!

We were married here on Saturday and I am still in shock with how perfect everything was!! It was beautiful, every detail was completely perfect. The waitstaff was fantastic and my guests have no stopped raving about the food!!!! My bridal attendant was a miracle. I wouldn't have made it threw the day without her!!! I'm so happy we chose this venue! I couldn't have imagined a more perfect wedding.

Everyone at our wedding had an absolute BLAST at The Farmhouse. The staff did an amazing job and I received so many compliments from friends and family on the food, service, and venue space. Thank you Rebecca and the rest of the team for making our day so special and memorable!!! :)

My wedding experience here was terrible and stressful to say the least. The Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial is great at painting an illusion of grandeur to it’s clients. They initially make you feel like you will be taken care of very well up until your wedding and the day of your wedding. However, during the time I booked my contract there was a heavy turn over rate of staff. Communication with me was so inconsistent because of this. I had to repeat my ideas each and every time I was given a new wedding coordinator. The first two quit or got fired. The third one went on medical leave a week before my wedding. Meanwhile, the manager named Rebecca, who clearly has poor people and managerial skills said she would fill in to help the day of my wedding. She didnt even show up to greet me or my husband the day of our wedding. Instead, I had a sweet but unfortanatly inexperienced bridal attendant who did not even know how to do my bustle. My photographer had to take time away from her actual job to help. We were supposed to have butler passed cigars, cookie favors, and bananas fosters but a LARGE MAJORITY OF my guests never saw them, got them, or even ate the cookies/fosters. Nor were any of our guests verbally informed about the bananas foster station sitting, uncooked, outside of the reception room. In addition, I had booked dancing on the clouds back in May 2017 with my DJ due to the false pretense I was provided by all of the Farmhouses marketing. Dancing with the clouds was clearly acceptable to use at this venue as it was displayed on their pamphlets and on their website. A week before my wedding Rebecca told me I couldn’t use it (and thats because I asked). I was so upset. Her answer was to talk to my DJ about it. Her tone in her emails was Basically, “Oh well, too bad, so sad”. In her mind she felt that the Farmhouse’s poor communication skills, false advertising since 2016 when I booked the venue, Had nothing to do with me feeling terrible about my First Dance Dreams Being Ruined! She was DISGUSTINGLY RUDE IN HER EMAILS AS WELL. A professional manager would have kept in touch with all of her sick, fired, and absent Wedding Coordinators’ Clients. This type of information should be made clear as soon as the establishments policies change, with all of the marketing removed. Not a week before the wedding. She absolutly wanted nothing to do with making ammends or comforting me in anyway. Despite me having just paid close to $20 grand for the Farmhouse. Finally after mass emails, she threw in one strawberry per guest. Also the berry coulis I paid for was missing on 75% of the guests cake, as I noted when walking around. We were promised to have both bars open, however the 2nd one closed around 8:30. Despite our wedding ending at 11. My grand entrance down the aisle was a Joke. The bridal attendant knew that my dress easily catched against the pavement, however was instructed by someone to let me just walk alone. I had to stop three times during my walk because my train and veils delicate material kept catching on the pavement. Finally, i asked her to please help me and not leave until I reached the grass. Overall, the venue is beautiful, the food excellent, and the staffs ability to decorate was great! However, those are the details that the guests see. The farmhouse needs to learn how to treat the bride and groom more respectfully and give everything they promised in the written contract. Do to their poor managerial and client-business relationship skills, I will not be recommending this venue to anyone.

The Farmhouse completely exceeded our expectations for our July wedding reception! My husband and I were in search of a private dining room that would accommodate our small group of guests without being too over-the-top. After scoping out a few venues and having lunch here, we concluded that the food and atmosphere were perfect. Cozy and casual but elegant, we knew this historic spot would satisfy the crowd. Rebecca, the Director of Catering Sales, offered us the Perryville room while she and the staff put in ample time to help us plan the menu and setup. The options were vast, and we decided on a cocktail hour with passed hors d’oeuvres, followed by an arrangement of appetizers and a custom dinner menu that left our guests with plenty of choice. They even thoughtfully plated our wedding cake with berries that complemented the flavor. The day flowed seamlessly which allowed us to just relax and have a great time with our guests, and the meal was a hit from start to finish! If you opt for hors d’oeuvres, be sure to get the 1685 Reuben.

Where to even begin. We were in a pinch when we reached out to the Farmhouse with interest in their venue. Rebecca was so great and so helpful. She reached out to us immediately. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and the staff is fantastic. Our guests are still raving about how good the food was!! everyone loved it!
Emily did an amazing job setting up the ballroom for us and Angelina was the BEST bridal assistant i could have asked for. They made our wedding day so perfect and we couldn't be more grateful to have found them. If you are interested in seeing their venue I would definitely recommend checking it out!!

We chose The Farmhouse for our rehearsal dinner and they exceeded our expectations! Ashley and Jesse were a pleasure to work with. They were very friendly, professional, and flexible. We told them our vision and they made it come to life. We had dinner in the Hunterdon room which was perfect for our 50 guests. There was a storm happening during the event and the power went out of a few seconds. The Farmhouse handled everything well and it did not disrupt the night at all. The room was beautiful and the food was delicious. The service was excellent and the bartender, Ron was phenomenal! Thank you!!

Thank you to the Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial for the most perfect wedding reception my husband and I could have ever dreamed of on June 16th! Everything was absolutely stunning and went so smoothly. The venue, grounds, food, service, and professionalism was the BEST ever! Our wedding guests were raving about the cocktail hour and all of the food for weeks after our wedding. Thank you to the entire Farmhouse team who made my wedding day stress free and were so attentive to us the entire day. We could not have imagined having our reception anywhere else! We 110% recommend choosing this beautiful and special place!

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Farmhouse this past Saturday, and i can honestly say that everything was PERFECT. Guests were complimenting the food, decor, and space all night long. The team helped with incredible recommendations for vendors, all of which turned out to be incredible. Even with some staff changes throughout my planning process, i never felt like the team didn't have my back and weren't committed to the event. Rebecca and Ashley were a JOY to work with, and i truly felt their excitement for our day, and their commitment to making it perfect. The bridal suite was also beautiful, and served as the perfect place to get ready and take bridal photos for the day. I can't say enough wonderful things about this venue and team, and my only regret is that we can't do it all over again!!

Of all the places we toured, The Farmhouse was by far the most beautiful, accommodating, yet also budget friendly. I would recommend to anyone who wants to impress their guests and have a ball doing it!

We just got married at The Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial on June 23, 2018 and it was FLAWLESS. We chose The Farmhouse for our wedding because of the FANTASTIC food and also because it didn't feel like a "wedding factory". We were immediately drawn to the beautiful grounds, welcoming staff, and their strong desire to make your wedding feel like your own. My husband and I really wanted a wedding that was personalized and the staff at The Farmhouse was more than willing to help make our ideas a reality. Being detailed oriented people, we really appreciated the time and effort the staff put in reviewing every last detail with us. They were patient and willing to answer all our questions (and we had plenty)!

On the day of the wedding, everything was executed to perfection. The staff was attentive to not only my husband and I, but to all of the guests. Between the cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert... food was absolutely amazing. Your guests always remember the food they had at a wedding and ours could not stop raving about it! Our wedding coordinators and maitre'd were completely 'on top' of the evening making sure everything was going well. They always made sure my husband and I were okay and most importantly, kept the reception flowing with the food, dj, cake cutting, etc. We didn't have to worry about anything. To cap it all off, we ended the night with a fireworks display that our vendor and The Farmhouse planned together to perfection.

The Farmhouse at the Grand Colonial is truly a hidden gem in NJ. Thank you for making it the best day of our lives.
