    Liz and Amy at The Grand 1401 are amazing. I couldn't have done all of this without their help. They were available to me and my vendors whenever we needed them. The building is beautiful and the 10th floor has such a stunning atmosphere that you forget that you are in Fresno.

    The Grand 1401 is a fabulous setting for any occasion, requiring very little in the way of additional decorating as the building is sophisticated, dramatic and offers an elegant venue. Shelli and Liz are both expedient and knowledgable in event planning and partner together to provide the upmost of service. My daughter's wedding was everything we dreamed it could be and more, and I recommend Grand without reservation.

    Elegant weddings at The Grand 1401

    The Grand 1401 is an amazing place to have a wedding or special event! We had our ceremony and reception on the 10th floor, and it was absolutely amazing! The ballroom donstairs is also incredible for a larger event. We had 150 guests and didn't feel cramped at all. The staff was always kind and would answer any questions or concerns we had. They can be challenging to reach, but they always get back to you. The security they hire is incredible! Overall The Grand is wonderful and I highly recommend them anyone wanting to have a classy and elegant ballroom wedding!

    My fiance and I were on the hunt for a historical building with a great venue. The moment we walked in to the Grand 1401 1st floor ballroom I was IN LOVE! It is exactly what I had in mind for a beautiful ballroom. We were given a tour by Liz, and she was very friendly, personable, and professional. She was able to answer every question and concern we had. We are so excited to be using this venue on our wedding day!

    We booked the 10th follow for the ceremony and reception. It looked amazing and worked really well for about 100 people. They were very accommodating with our vendors and us. One thing that was limiting is you have to use their preferred vendors for some things, but the vendors were amazing.

We had to create a preferred caterers list with many caterers who all have a wide range of menu selection and price. They also have the equipment needed for full service here at the Grand.     The venue is beautiful and doesn’t need much for decoration. I think they should update their vendor list to include some they didn’t have listed but worked with. Some other vendors weren’t as wonderful as I hoped but I didn’t end up working with those ones. You do have to clean up all trash and items in the building except for tables and chairs. The ceiling was leaking badly once when I went but no issues on my wedding day. They were VERY accommodating and VERY willing to work with us. The wedding day staff were all very professional and did their job so well! Definitely worth the money and you will have a beautiful day here if you choose it!

    This is a beautiful building in downtown Fresno. We are glad we had our ceremony and reception here. I just wish the day of the event the event host was more attentive and willing to help out. We had to have security try to find her couple of times. Overall good experience.

    Hi Marla - thank you for your comments regarding your wedding. I was sorry to hear that you needed the event building host and had to reach out to her a few times. The host is responsible for both ballrooms during the evening. They are here to make sure all building issues are addressed along with security. If they are on another floor during an event they will be available as soon as they have finished their responsibilities on that floor. If you wouldn't mind letting me know what it was that fell short from our host it would be greatly appreciated. We like to have this information for future events so we might improve our services.     Liz and Amy are very helpful and organized. My only complaint is that I paid much more than I was quoted. Also, the lights were never dimmed so the up lights didn't stand out. Oh well.
    Overall, I havd a great and fun wedding. The Grand 1401 is beautiful!

    Good morning: Thank you for your comments regarding your reception. When we go over our guidelines we discuss all other charges involved. We also ask our clients to sign a copy of the guidelines so that they understand all of our policies. we apologize if there was a misunderstanding regarding any additional fee's. We have event hosts here to assist in building needs such as dimming the lights etc. they just need to be told what you would like when you need them to. Again we are sorry for any misunderstanding but we are thrilled you had a great time! Thank you again for sharing your concerns it only helps us grow to the potential we expect for the Grand.

    Worse venue Ever!!!

    ZERO STARS FROM ME. I had my Wedding here 9.23.2023 and had the worst experience. The venue is Beautiful but the staff was the worst. Alma did not do her job as to what we discussed. The servers and busier I paid for were rude as hell and very disrespectful to my guest. The security this venue hired were harassing my guest the whole entire night. We had our reception and wedding both on the 10th floor. Security was not letting guest on the veranda(outside patio). Which is why I chose the place. I had a cigar bar which alma knew about and the security were telling guess they can not be outside and they could not smoke. I paid for coordinator and their was none. It was a shit show.
    Thank God for my DJ because if it was for him stepping up to different rolls it could have been worse. The Security were also stealing 24 packs of beer. Security were caught taking a cart full of 24 packs of beer. Their was one server who bumped my daughter over and never looked back to apologize. My son was stuck in the elevator for more than 30 mins having a whole panick attack.
    They let us know we had access to the whole kitchen which was not what happened. Alma was rude to my family and lied to us about what we could do and how she was going to be their for us.
    It's so sad that I had to worry about all of this on my wedding day. When I called alma she didn't answer my calls at all. She told my mother oh I'm not going to be here at all. I have a whole list of complaints about this venue I can honestly sit here for hours.
    I'm so upset I could never redo that day again and I honestly feel like if you want to have a wedding here because it's Beautiful DONT. I didn't get to enjoy my wedding like I wished because of the rude staff and no show of a coordinator which is the coordinator to this venue. Find somewhere else to have a wedding. I paid too much money to have my wedding day ruined by the staff.

    Thank you for taking the time to discuss your concerns with us over the phone. We understand that your wedding day is a special occasion, and we deeply regret that your experience at our venue did not meet your expectations.

    First as it is directly associated to The Grand 1401’s operations, we would like to address the issue regarding the event host and the event coordinator. We apologize for any confusion that may have arisen in this regard. It's important to clarify that while an event host is responsible for overseeing the logistics and details of the venue, an event coordinator, if hired separately, typically handles broader aspects of the wedding planning. We will ensure greater clarity moving forward.

    Regarding the behavior of the service staff we hired for your event, we appreciate your clarification that not all servers and bussers were rude or disrespectful. We are committed to providing exceptional service, and we will use your feedback to improve our staff training and customer service standards. We have also spoken to the company hired for this service and they have made the one server aware of the complaints that were made. We appreciate your further clarification.

    The decision to close off the veranda was made with the safety of your guests and the venue in mind. Multiple warnings were issued due to guests throwing items off the balcony, which posed a risk to our valet service and vehicles below. Additionally, reports of guests allegedly engaging in drug use outside was in violation of our venue's contract and safety protocols, further necessitating the veranda closure.

    Regarding the allegations against our security personnel, we have investigated the matter thoroughly. It has been clarified that security did not steal alcohol but, in fact, assisted the groom with taking alcohol to his car. To prevent any future misunderstandings, we have decided that our security staff will no longer assist guests with loading out.

    Please note that we did speak to all involved vendors and requested reports from your event. We've thoroughly examined the submitted reports and are committed to maintaining open communication to resolve any discrepancies. Expect to receive these reports via email shortly today.

    Once again, we are deeply sorry for the challenges you encountered during your special day. We take your feedback to heart and will use it to make necessary improvements to our operations. We appreciate your honest communication and hope that, in the future, you may consider us for other events where we can demonstrate our commitment to providing a better experience.
