  Fall wedding in Maine

  We rented the hive farm and wedding barn for our wedding weekend in October and it was absolutely perfect! Eric was such an incredible help through the whole process and was genuinely excited about making our day the best. The property was gorgeous and the foliage made the perfect back drop. Plenty of room on the property for people to camp! For our dining tent and our pups to roam free (just remember you’re in western mAine so watch out for skunks and critters)… I would recommend this venue a million times over.

  Wedding August 2022

  First off, there isn't quite enough words to describe how beautiful this wedding venue is. My wife & I were both looking for a venue that offered not only a large enough barn to fit all of our guest, but a place for guests who traveled to comfortably stay the night if chosen. The Hive offered us just that and more. The barn offers two levels, which made rehearsal dinner much easier due to the rain forcing us to be indoors as the upper level was not disturbed after being set up for the big day. The house gives off a soothing " country" vibe, perfect for a Maine wedding. The house had plenty of rooms & beds, all equipped with an air conditioner. Multiple bathrooms which made getting ready a breeze. The yard is exceptionally large with tons of room for tents, all the yard games & parking. Our caterers enjoyed using the carriage house beside the barn to set up all of the food. Overall, we have nothing but good things to say about this venue & the owner. Eric was very professional, easy to work with and answered all of our questions in a timely manner from start to finish. We would recommend this venue to everyone!

  Easy and caring

  This past weekend we got married at the hive in Waterford. Over the past year Eric has been a sounding board answering any and all questions, and meeting with us several times to check out the property together and with our families prior to the wedding. Each time we visited there were upgrades - additional flower locations, easier walk ways out of the barn to the ceremony, and overall. Not to mention he had maintenance mow the lawn a day before the wedding and then weed whack the morning of the wedding. Just so amazing. The hive in Waterford had several positives for us - the space for all our wedding party to spend the night without driving home, the barn that held our 100 guests, multiple stalls for our bar, photo booth, and gift area. The venue also had several places to take photos for us and our family and friends. You cannot beat the price, and to have such a lovely and accommodating host was something special. I feel so compelled to write a glowing review for Eric. We used both the hive in Waterford and trail side at Shawnee peak for our close family to stay. They had a lovely time and it all went really well!! Thank you so much Eric!

  Beautiful Venue

  This is a beautiful space - lots of room inside and out, well maintained and rustic! We would recommend that they update a few things - 1. Add hand railings on the outside of the barn to get up to the outside ceremony space and/or a handicap ramp for older attendees 2. Include a couple golf carts for easy movement around the property and ease of transporting guests to/from their vehicles and 3. Update/replace the ceremony benches as they are a little unstable and tippy. We would definitely recommend this venue, but these three additions would increase the value greatly. 😊

  Wonderful place to get married

  This place was perfect. It had everything you could need and so much room for everyone. It made our weekend and wedding day complete. Eric is a wonderful guy to work with and very easy going. Highly recommend!!!!

  ⊂(◉‿◉)つ━☆ﾟ.*･｡ﾟMAGICAL MAINE GETAWAY

  We have a group of 8-10 friends that travel throughout New England for Disc Golf getaways. Eric was an intelligent, gracious host and staying in his phenomenal home was a Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ DREAM! I'm not sure how we could have enjoyed it any more - it exceeded our expectations in every way. There was one slight mishap when the previous guests used almost an entire cord of firewood that he had prepared and he didn't have enough time to gather more before our stay but the property was full of all the wood we could ever ask for and the guys didn't really mind loading it up and bringing it to the fire pit.
  
  The entire adventure was an A+++++ all the way! The ◖⚆ᴥ⚆◗ dogs had so much room to run and play without any restrictions or neighbors we think they had the best vacation of their entire lives!
  
  We played all 3 courses at Woodland Valley Disc Golf and had the most incredible dinner at https://www.theblackhorsetavern.com/menu which was only about 20 minutes away from the property. Every one of us had a meal that melted in our mouths and it was in a little town that had a Hannaford and whatever else you could need. This was an incredible trip all the way around - Disc Golf at Woodland Valley A++++ - the most delicious food imaginable at Black Horse Tavern and absolutely (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤ GORGEOUS accomodations at "The Hive" in Waterford

  Horrible customer service

  The owner of the venue is very unprofessional. I do not recommend renting this as a wedding venue if you are concerned about safety and have any handicap family members don’t even bother bringing them to this venue because there is no handicap accessibility, there are no handrails on the side of the barn to help people go down the stairs, there is no lighting in the area that people are supposed to park so make sure you bring a flashlight.
  The owner also likes to play games with your signed contract and change the rules whenever he feels like it. He claims that you will get a $600 security deposit back Find any excuse to keep your money.

  Thank you for letting us use your incredible venue. We got fully loaded by our by noon today. Had an amazing event and time! The two front row benches outside were pretty unsafe for differing reasons so we had to pull them off to the side. You’ll see one is very broken on the seat itself and the other couldn’t be made to stand stable. Other than that, everything went perfect and we couldn’t be happier. Everything should be put away and in the shape you left it. Thanks again!
  
  Morgan & her husband unfortunately did not leave the venue as they should have, with nonadherance to multiple line items of the agreement, which unfortunately cost them a portion of their security deposit. This is the "no class" review in response to our holding the couple accountable & enforcement of our agreement, so we could recover the extra funds it cost us to fix/take care of items that were broken/not adhered too by them.
