  We'll be back for our anniversary.

  We got nine cakes for a cake bar; the cakes were fresh and delicious; the cakes were moist and flavorful, and the frosting was cream cheese. We got the Lemon, Red Velvet, and Raspberry Almond Poppyseed. Great price, and everyone enjoyed the cakes. I was happy to enjoy my wedding cakes. We’ll be back for our anniversary.

  Best cake ever!

  I MEAN EVER! My wedding cake was AMAZING. Run don’t walk to support this amazing bakery. It was so good, I ordered another one a week later to celebrate my friend’s graduation from Grad School. EVERYONE said it was the best cake they have ever had. And getting to support an LGBTQ+ business just makes it that much better. Thank you for helping make our special day even more special.

  Soooo Good!!!

  We LOVED having Hungry Hero desserts at our wedding!!! Their treats are to die for and it was especially cool to have the coconut rum cupcakes there (since they won on Sugar Rush!). Thank you soooo much, Ryan and Alex!!! 💖

  Highly recommend!

  This place is AMAZING. Honestly, best cake ever. We aren’t even really cake people! We did several cake tastings, and this was an absolute no brainer. Not only was it significantly less expensive than the others we tried, but it also blew away the competition in terms of taste. We ended up getting cookies to serve too, which were also delicious. By the next day, there was hardly any cake left, and no cookies left! We now go out of our way to visit the bakery every time we are in Oregon visiting now!

  Great Bakery!

  We ordered our wedding cake from The Hungry Hero and loved our experience with them. Their team is so friendly, and all their desserts and cakes are so tasty!
  
  The cake was beautiful and delicious. We got a two tiered cake and we made one tier vanilla cake, and the other spiced cake because we couldn’t decide which flavor we liked better. We also really appreciated that they had options for very simple cakes - and at such reasonable wedding cake prices. And to top it all off, their tasting experience is so fun!

  Your Guests Will Fight Over The Desserts

  I had such a great experience with Alex and Zane at The Hungry Hero! They were responsive, fun, and friendly. Our wedding cake was simple and delicious - exactly how we wanted it - and when they delivered it, they styled it with the cake flowers we had purchased from our florist. It turned out SO CUTE! I was so happy to see it when I arrived at our reception! We also had a dessert table, and people were fighting over the bars! The gooey butter bars and the Debbie bars are 100% worth fighting for. They were SO good!!! It's probably a good thing I don't live super close to the bakery, because I would be dropping in for their bars all the time. I highly recommend them not only as a wedding vendor, but also as a great everyday bakery. I can't wait to go back for some goodies!

  Alex and Zane did a wonderful job! My standards are *very* high when it comes to dessert, and these guys do not disappoint. Communication via email was really easy and I loved the flexibility when choosing items for our dessert table. I cannot wait to order again for a special occasion or even just pop into their shop for a little treat.

  I can’t say enough good things about Hungry Hero Dessert Co.! I had them do the cake and cupcakes for my wedding, and I am so glad I did! Zane and Alex are wonderful to work with and very responsive to all questions! Not to mention that everyone raved about how delicious the cupcakes were! I would recommend them to everyone!

  We had Hungry Heros cater our dessert for our wedding back in September of 2017. We decided to use them because we wanted to pick something non traditional of just cake and something that we both enjoyed and we knew would be a hit with our guests.   We love Alex, Zane and the staff at HH. We'd been going there for years, either to their flagship shop in Sherwood, or when they were working out of the back of a restaurant. They were a natural choice when we started talking about desserts. In fact, they were the first vendors we booked. They were fun to work with and when I brought them something they'd never done before, they did it for us (mini cinnamon rolls! YAY!). They put up a beautiful dessert table that had all the guests begging to know where we got those awesome french macs. That's why we had them post a sign at the dessert table. We knew once folks tried them, they'd need to know. It's both a joy and a shame that they are right by where I work. We love this wonderful bakery.

During our initial tasting, Alex took the time to ask all about the wedding and how we wanted the cake to reflect the colors of the day. He worked with a local florist to add blackberry brambles and hops to the cake to reflect the theme of our wedding at a Brewery. He and Zane were very responsive to emails and dropped off our cake at our reception venue in downtown Portland the day of the wedding. Multiple guests told us it was the most delicious wedding cake they'd ever had (vanilla cake with hazelnut frosting and blackberry preserves). I also felt that their prices were much cheaper than vendors in downtown Portland (we spent $350 for a cake that fed 95 guests plus leftovers). Highly recommend!

  Hungry Hero is an incredible dessert company. They created the most beautiful wedding dessert table for our wedding. All of the desserts were absolutely baked to perfection. They painted gold dusting onto our cake and macaroons. We were so impressed with how everything was presented for our day. They arrived prompted when agreed upon and set everything up themselves. We would recommend them to everyone we know getting married!

  Alex is amazing at what he does! Our cake and dessert table at our wedding was truly a op highlight of the event. Not only was it incredibly beautiful, but all of the dessert were absolutely delicious. We met with Alex once to go over what we wanted and he went above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. We wanted to include succulents on our cake for decoration, and when he though the floral decoration might be too big for the already planned cake size, he accommodated us with a bigger cake! Please go visit The Hungry Hero very every and all of your dessert wants and needs, you will not be sorry!

  Delicious and beautiful!

  Hungry Hero executed my vision for my wedding cake very well! They made me a chocolate cake with raspberry filling (our favorite) and covered it in forest green icing, my wedding’s main color! They even put my cake flowers on the cake in the most beautiful way. I was so happy with how the cake turned out! Looking forward to eating the cake top next year!!

  The Hungry Hero will not let you down! Not only were they the absolute yummiest cakes we tried, but they also have AMAZING bars and cookies to add on. They were super willing to help us with our vision of the day - and were SO kind and fun to work with. You honestly couldn't pick a better, more fun-loving, or delicious shop in town! The only bad thing I can say about them is that they are too far to me to go to every weekend!   Crazy Delicious!

  Wow! Everything from here is absolutely delicious! We did a dessert bar and got an array of cupcakes, bars, cookies, cookie sandwiches, mini pies on a stick, and a cake for cutting. Every single item from The Hungry Hero is divine! Stand out items were Gooey Butter Bar, Snickerdoodle and Ugly Cookie Creams, and the Banana Cake. At our tasting we were able to try an array of desserts (about 9 different menu items) and since we booked at our tasting we received a discount off our order. The only disappointing factor was that they were hard to get a hold of about 4 weeks before the wedding to confirm our order. Two weeks before the wedding, they asked us if we could pick up our desserts after we had already paid for delivery and set up. Come day off, the delivery person set the boxes on the table and tried to leave. Our Day of Coordinator noticed this and had to ask him to set up. This extra stress about the uncertainty if our desserts would be there was unfortunate, especially considering we were amid a pandemic. We also needed to supply our own signs for the desserts. But overall, our dessert bar was a major hit for all of our guests.

At our tasting we were able to try an array of desserts (about 9 different menu items) and since we booked at our tasting we received a discount off our order. The only disappointing factor was that they were hard to get a hold of about 4 weeks before the wedding to confirm our order. Two weeks before the wedding, they asked us if we could pick up our desserts after we had already paid for delivery and set up. Come day off, the delivery person set the boxes on the table and tried to leave. Our Day of Coordinator noticed this and had to ask him to set up. This extra stress about the uncertainty if our desserts would be there was unfortunate, especially considering we were amid a pandemic. We also needed to supply our own signs for the desserts. But overall, our dessert bar was a major hit for all of our guests.
