My husband and I were the first couple to experience their wedding with the newly renovated Merrill Hills venue. We were nervous at first because it was hard to picture what our wedding day would look like with the venue under construction. However Jamie our coordinator and the rest of the team made sure to answer any questions we had and ensured us that it would be beautiful. The whole day was more than we could have ever imagined. The venue was gorgeous, we were able to have our ceremony outside overlooking the golf course and then an even better view upstairs at the reception. Jamie kept not only us but our wedding party all on schedule throughout the day. My husband and I felt that the day truly went smoothly because of the staff, we cannot thank them enough. Almost 6 months later and we still get raving reviews from friends and family on the food. We would do it all over again if we could - 10/10 would recommend The Legend at Merrill Hills! -

We held our wedding reception at Merrill Hills and it couldn't have gone better. Jamie and her team were incredibly accommodating when we decided to postpone our original date. In fact, Jamie was an absolute rockstar throughout the entire planning process. She was always responsive, answered my never-ending questions, and was just extremely helpful. As a bonus, we got so many compliments on the food and drinks. (I agree, everything was delicious!) I'd recommend Merrill Hills to any Milwaukee-area bride! -

Melody Sent on 08/02/2012My wedding day would not have been what it was without Pat at Merrill Hills. She coordinated everything for my reception and was so easy going and easy to work with. She also offered suggestions to make our day better in regards to things I hadn't even thought of. Merrill hills has a fabulous package but it is also very customizable. We got to take golf carts out on the golf course with the bridal party for pictures which was really fun. Also, Pat and her team made all of my centerpieces and took care of all set up and clean up. The staff also loaded my car up with the gifts and was willing to do anything asked. -

Kristin Sent on 09/15/2011The venue was beautiful and the staff was wonderful. At times, they were hard to reach and answer questions, but overall they did a phenomenal job. My day was a dream come true thanks to their help! -
User1818412 Sent on 09/19/2014The Legend at Merrill Hills was renovated under new ownership just prior to our wedding. The changes were somewhat uncertain at the time but the waterfall they added was beautiful and led to a great setting for our ceremony and outdoor pictures. We received many compliments on the wedding venue and it was everything we hoped for! It has a great outdoor patio space as well. The landscaping was very well kept and we were glad to receive so many compliments on our choice of a venue!
Kristi is the event coordinator we worked with and she was very helpful throughout the process. She made it very clear to us what our food and drink options were and the space that was available to us in the facility. She was accommodating regarding many items and gave us good ideas on how to best use the space. On the day of the event, she was good about keeping us on schedule and was communicated frequently with us about the status of our drink selections. She was occasionally hard to get in touch with because of her schedule not being in sync with normal business hours.
As a private country club, there were a variety of restrictions we had to abide by such as the dress code even if we were just stopping by briefly. Since we weren't familiar with this type of environment, it was a bit of an deterrence. In addition, we were disappointed to learn that they would not allow us to take pictures out on the golf course due to safety concerns and disturbance to the members. Because of the country club atmosphere, we found many of the prices to be higher than comparable options in the area.
That said, we very much enjoyed working with Kristi, especially on the day of the event and we found her to be more welcoming and hospitable than some of the other staff and the members of the country club.

User1997157 Sent on 01/05/2015When my husband and I booked this venue, it had just been purchased by The Legends. The Event Coordinator at the time totally sold us. She was very nice and knew what she was talking about. After we booked it for our date, we had went in there a couple weeks later to give her our down payment and talked to her about how we were going to pay the rest. We all agreed on a plan, and she gave us our contract.
About 3 months had passed, and we weren't hearing anything from her. One day, I got an email from someone from The Legends. It was a new Event Coordinator, and she wanted to meet with us. We went to meet with her, and she was not nearly as good as the other woman. She was very hard to get a hold of, she would avoid some situations, and just didn't seem very organized. At our gala, we talked to one of the co-owners. What was written on our contract, the agreement we had with the old Event Coordinator, was now left in the dust. She wouldn't "honor" that anymore. So we had to figure out another option.
A few months had passed, and I would send the coordinator emails. Would take her 3-4 days, sometimes even a week to respond to my emails. And it would be short answers.
A couple weeks before our wedding, I looked up reviews on Merrill Hills and everything in the last couple months hadn't been good reviews at all. I was very nervous for our big day. I was trying very hard not to think about it and kept telling myself everything is going to be okay.
It was our wedding day, and everything ended up being PERFECT. Everything went better than expected and we would not ask for a better wedding day. We were very happy with how everything ended up turning out, regardless of all the mish mosh we dealt with leading up to our wedding. And let me just add, the food was DELICOUS. Our guests had many compliments, and we didn't hear one complaint.
