My (now) husband and I have been vegan for a number of years and making sure our wedding was completely vegan as well was crucial to us. The Scarlet Runner was initially recommended to us by a friend, however, a quick search does provide their name under "vegan friendly". This team also specializes in vegetarian, gluten-free, and a wide range of knowledge for different types of ethnic dishes. They just make downright freakin' amazing food!!!
When we explained our goals, Hilary was able to craft a menu filled with so many delicious options to satisfy any vegan/non-vegan alike! In addition to providing exceptional entrée and hors d'oeuvres options, we also were able to utilize her pastry chef for our wedding cake. They can seriously do it all!
The Scarlet Runner's catering style is very wholesome and clean ingredients and. all of the ingredients used are sourced from local farms. They also do a lot of different catering events and community aid. At one point, they were catering events at a local animal sanctuary where we were able to attend and share a vegan meal amongst local Lancaster folks! It was incredible and such a wonderful time (and a great opportunity to enjoy more of their amazing food).
After the wedding, all of our guests could not stop raving about the food -- most of which were non-vegan guests... They couldn't believe it! It made us so happy. We just could not have asked for a more perfect team!
It was so wonderful working with Hilary and her team over the course of the last two years and getting to know Hilary herself a little bit more on a personal level. We adore her and her team and look forward to working with them in the future! We cannot thank you enough for such a memorable meal!

The Best Choice We Made
Hiring Hilary was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. Her menu, her food, and her values are one-of-a-kind. She helped us choose a menu that worked for our season, the dietary needs of our guests, and what we found the yummiest. She also helped us choose linens, china, and flatware that fit our vibe. I was really invested in having colored water glasses, and she went out of her way to find a local place to rent them. The day itself went off without a hitch and all our guests raved about the food. My biggest regret of the day is that I didn’t eat enough! -

Perfect cocktail hour caterer for our wedding!
The Scarlet Runner did a fantastic job at our fall wedding at White Chimneys in Gap, PA. We were looking for a cocktail hour caterer for our wedding as an addition to the food trucks we hired and the food that my husband and his friends prepared (they are chefs in Philly). We were so happy to find the Scarlet Runner, who used local ingredients from the Lancaster area and had vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. This review is a bit different because I haven't had my wedding yet. However, I can't say enough about Hilary and the Scarlet Runner. Due to the pandemic, my fiance and I decided to proactively postpone our wedding to next year to a time that will hopefully be safer for our family and friends to celebrate with us. We hired Scarlet Runner to cater our big day and were so happy and relieved that they had availability for our new date (because just based off the tasting, the food will be incredible and I would have been so sad to miss out). Hilary was so kind and understanding and really made the rescheduling process a breeze. We are so thankful to Hilary and the Scarlet Runner for working through it with us given all that the wedding industry is going through right now. We can't wait for the food on our big day next year! -

Not only did The Scarlet Runner have amazing food, that my guests continue to rave about, their service and professionalism was off the charts. Hilary was such a pleasure to work with, was always very accommodating, and never hesitated to answer any questions I may have had. On top of catering they also provide all the linens and they just put everything together so cohesively, it was absolutely wonderful. -

Jenna Sent on 07/25/2017I can't speak more highly of Hilary and her team. Our food looked and tasted beautiful, I know I was the bride so maybe they were just saying this to make me happy, but so many of my wedding guests mentioned that the catering was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I did get to eat some and I agree! Hilary recommended I try family style service, something I had never seen at a wedding before, and it worked out fantastically. Plus, the food is well priced and more creative than other options.
