  Couldn't Ask for Better

  The Spa at the Colonial Williamsburg Hotel could not have been a more wonderful place to get ready for my wedding. They let us have the entire salon for my bridesmaids and family members. We were able to reserve delicious snacks and drink mimosas while we were pampered and they gave out the sweetest gifts at the end of our treatments. I cannot thank Mary enough for doing my hair and makeup. She was wonderful to work with and even gave suggestions to others in my party who are about to get married themselves! I couldn't have asked for better!

  My experience at the spa was one of my favorite memories of the day! For starters, they set out a beautiful display of snacks and mimosas for my bridesmaids, mothers, grandmothers, etc. Girls arrived early and stayed late just to hang out in the beautiful setting and enjoy the good food!
  
  More importantly, they did a phenomenal job and the prices were excellent for the service. My bridesmaids looked great and my makeup, done by Holly Cobb, turned out so well. I'm very particular about my hair and makeup because I tend to go for a more natural day to day look. Holly applied natural, beautiful makeup just as I requested and did a low, simple bun that looked so elegant. That said, I've seen her portfolio and she can also do more complicated down and updos (some of my bridesmaids got these).
  
  I was hesitant because there is very little information out there about the spas bridal services, but I definitely recommend them!

  I had my wedding hair and makeup done at the spa as well as my bridesmaids' and mother's. I was extremely happy with my hair for the wedding. It came out just as wonderful on the practice day, but I am glad I took a photo as the hair dresser did not remember exactly how she had done it. It still came out great and held up all day on a hot summer day. The makeup was nice too, barely noticed it on my extremely sensitive skin. I never felt rushed and had a great time having brought in breakfast and coffee. There are usually food and drink options to order from the Lodge, but we had an early morning appointment on a Sunday.

  Great for everyday, not for event

  I've had really wonderful experiences with the spa for normal services, mainly facials. It's a wonderful place, and I really enjoyed the time I spent there.
  
  When it came to looking for hair and makeup for my wedding, it was frustrating to get consistent pricing, make contact with spa coordinators, and receive responses to my inquiries, concerns, and questions. We had booked with them from myself and some family members, but I decided to seek services elsewhere. I believe they have had some turnover in staff recently, but communication and responsiveness could have been way better. I didn't feel comfortable having them for my wedding services, but would highly recommend for everyday appointments.
