  Excellent venue for the under 200 guest industrial wedding dream

  This venue was recommended by a friend who worked for a wedding caterer in the area (who we ended up using). They said it was an ideal set up for vendors. We also loved that (based on our wedding size) we didn't have to move seating around between the reception and ceremony sides. There is a space on site for both the bride and groom to get ready, ample parking for guests across the street, in downtown Knoxville, all the guests in one room and no tables/chairs of guests being taken away for the reception/dancing. I was able to avoid all the annoying things that can happen to a guest at a wedding. I also loved the aesthetic of the building/space. You are able to make it however you want, make it more etherial with draping, embrace the darker mood, or balance with greenery and white for a balance of feminine/masculine like we did. I would choose this venue again and again. 10/10 recommend. And Mary Beth was awesome to work with on visiting the venue multiple times, and having to go back the next day to pick up a piece of rented equipment that was accidentally left.

  Perfect for a winter wedding!

  Can’t say enough great things about the Standard! It was the most perfect venue for my December wedding! The bridal and groom areas were also great. Easy to work with!

  Super awesome! Super flexible! Kinda expensive, but totally worth it!! It's important to pay for quality and with the Standard, you get it!

  The Standard was the perfect venue for our day. We searched high and low in Knoxville for the perfect venue. Not only was the venue visually what we were looking for, but it also was so accommodating for a wedding our size. We had about 160 people and rented the entire venue for the day. There was plenty of room for all of us to get ready during the day without being in the way of the vendors. We also had the perfect amount of space for our reception and ceremony. The venue made all the difference and really pulled our wedding together. Thank you!!

  I cant say enough great things about the Standard. Mary Beth and her crew are great to work with. Tables and chairs are provided and you can use any vendor you chose and can provide your own alcohol ( saves tons of money!). If you are looking for a unique, urban vibe the Standard is it!

  This place is amazing!! What a perfect place for a wedding and reception. So many of the guests just raved about it. It looked so beautiful! Mary Beth, Chris, and Nick were so wonderful and helpful. The evening was perfect! Anyone who could see our pictures will want to use this place. We had guests who have kids getting married and they were asking us all about The Standard. Highly recommend!!!! The entire process was sooooo easy.

  This venue is incredibly beautiful and affordable! From unique details throughout The Standard and the layout for events, this is a must see. Mary Beth has been amazing and answered all of my questions quickly. I highly recommend!

  The Standard is an incredibly beautiful venue, with its elegance matched only by its versatility. Exposed brick, an incredible floor plan, and a bridal suite that was made for photography made this place the first choice for my Bride and me. Mary Beth and the crew are top notch professionals, and they are a joy to work with. If you're looking for a unique place to get hitched, this is the place to do it.

  This venue was so pretty and perfect for our wedding! I would definitely recommend it. You may have to email the people a couple times for responses but they were usually good about replying back quickly.

  The Standard is a beautiful and unique venue! We thought it was the perfect venue to reflect our personality as a couple! With the skylights, exposed brick, and industrial lighting there's not much to do to decorate other than add some twinkle lights to help with the ambiance! There is space for the ceremony, reception, and private areas for the Bridal party to get ready and hang out in before everything gets going! Mary Beth is fantastic and easy to work with, I highly recommend this venue!

Formally a glass factory, it had the perfect ambiance with skylights, exposed brick and wooden beams - it required very little on our part to make it beautiful, beyond a few strategic uses of uplighting and twinkle lights. It took a while to get in contact with them - the number provided is for the general company that manages a bunch of properties - but once we got in touch with Mary Beth, everything went smoothly. We had a Friday wedding and reception, which made the venue extremely affordable, and we could even go in and set up the day before, which was helpful for my DIY approach to our reception. We had a huge upstairs bridal suite for between wedding and reception, and the hall had plenty of room for all our guest to let loose. All in all - a cool, unique venue that made our reception memorable for everyone.

  We picked The Standard because we wanted a bare bones type venue where we could pick whatever caterer and decoration style we wanted. For this, we succeeded. Our biggest complaint for The Standard was keeping in touch with the lady in charge at Dewhirst Properties. She was very slow to answer emails and was almost never in the office to answer the phone. Granted, this wasn't her fault, but Dewhirst should recognize their manning problem and adjust accordingly. Our other complaint was that the speaker system didn't work like it was supposed to, so the music during our ceremony was truly heinous. It was so embarrassing to look back at it in the video. It wouldn't play a lot of the time and sounded terrible when it did. Also, when I first got there, it was super hot, but as soon as I called them, they cranked up the AC, so I'm okay with how that turned out. Overall, I would pick this venue again because it was beautiful, clean, and I had a lot of freedom, but if you choose it, test the speaker system before the wedding (I should have done this, I know), and expect to wait for an email response.

  This venue is absolutely perfect for the bride who wants to make her wedding her own! They are super chill, however a little slow on e-mail response, etc. Best bang for your buck for capacity in Knoxville!

  Having lived in Knoxville for four years, my husband and I had passed by The Standard many times and always thought hosting our wedding there would be perfect. The venue is GORGEOUS, urban, and fabulous for any couple that wants something different from the typical wedding venue. There are so many areas of the venue for taking pictures, hanging out, and celebrating; there is even an amazing bridal loft for getting ready with your girls and a man cave for the guys. It was difficult at times to get in touch with the event coordinator, but we are still so happy that we chose the Standard.

  The Standard is beautiful. It was a bit out of our budget, but booking on a Friday helped with this. Overall, our experience has been good with the Standard. We've been able to view the venue several times which helps in the planning process.

  The Venue was absolutely beautiful!! Our winter wedding was so beautiful!

  This venue was absolutely gorgeous! It made for the perfect winter wedding! The only thing that was difficult for us was the communication. It was very hard getting in touch with them, and never responded to our emails. Other than that, everything turned out beautiful!

  We hosted our son's Rehearsal Dinner at The Standard. It is a lovely venue with a perfect location; right next to The Crowne Plaza where we stayed so most of our out of town guests could literally walk to the dinner.
  Unfortunately, I was not happy at all with the responsiveness of the person I worked with. As we got closer to our date I tried reaching her via email, phone calls (several messages left) and finally a personal visit ( I came all the way from New York State and someone else met me to tour the venue) to no avail. I had questions about the Renter's Insurance you are required to purchase and needed a simple answer. Which was important because if you don't have the policy written correctly one month before the event, they can cancel your event. And even though I sent my insurance provider a copy of what was required, they wrote it incorrectly. That was certainly not The Standard's problem but I sure don't think It should take 4 weeks to get a response! If I had not been persistent I'm not sure what would have happened. I finally got a response from the young lady with "sorry I missed you"? After two emails, multiple phone calls with messages left and a personal visit, that didn't seem appropriate or professional to not get a response for a solid month!
