  Our July 2023 Wedding at the Westshore Grand

  We held our wedding at the Westshore Grand in late July 2023 and hosted approximately 150 family and friends.
  
  Matthew Moody (Catering Sales Manager) was an absolute pleasure to work with and paid great attention to detail while being highly accessible and responsive from the booking process to the wedding ceremony and reception.
  
  We chose the Westshore Grand because it had space for the wedding ceremony, a cocktail hour that followed prior to our wedding reception in a spacious ballroom that we were able to decorate. The hotel even had awesome patios and inside areas for great photo sessions.
  
  Matthew and the staff were responsive and always accommodating to our needs to include arranging 'get ready' rooms and provided menus for us to order additional food and beverages. Steven Albright helped to keep the guest rooming list of our family and friends organized. He even emailed us weekly updates in an Excel format, which was greatly appreciated. The front desk staff was amazing and assisted with ensuring that the wedding party received their welcome gifts we put together upon check-in.
  
  The Westshore Grand's accommodations are great, as the on-site self parking garage was a plus and free to everyone. There is also a valet service option available.
  
  The Westshore Grand had very nice rooms, a rooftop pool, a restaurant and separate bar, awesome food, etc. that allowed us, our family and friends to have a wonderful, memorable experience.
  
  I don't have any recommendations other than for Matthew, Steven and the hotel staff to do for other guests that they did for us, which was provide excellent service with a caring, personal touch.

  Two Words, Patty and Amazing

  Thank You to Patty and her team at The Westshore Grand hotel for making my wedding amazing. My guest loved the natural lighting and positive energy received. Everyone said that this was the most organized wedding they had been to and I can't thank Patty enough. Our numbers were cut due to COVID, but I was still able to get my dream wedding and more! Ms. Patty Fernandez is so calm and caring, as I started to get that anxiousness closer to my big day she was a wave of peace and I can't thank her enough. The hotel is beautiful and is located conveniently close to the airport for out-of-town guests to come and a variety of restaurants for everyday dining and rehearsal dinner events. There are so many accommodations this venue offers; including the free shuttle, free parking in the garage, and amazing front desk and bar staff. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose Patty and her team, this venue, and the location without any hesitation.

  My Beautiful Wedding Day

  The entire experience with The Westshore Grand was wonderful. Patricia Fernandez did an outstanding job I making me and my husband have a really magical wedding. She made all of us feel as though we were the most important people for the day. The cocktail hour was beautiful and the reception was “WOW” according to our guests. Patty really gained our trust that everything was going to be great. She met all of our expectations. The food was terrific and presented beautifully. I highly recommend The Westshore Grand for any event.

  Thank You to The Westshore Grand hotel for making our daughter’s dream wedding come true. Our wedding coordinator Ms. Patty Fernandez and the Chefs and the staff are fantastic and they made sure that everything was perfect. I could not have asked for a better team. The hotel is beautiful and is located conveniently close to the airport for out of town guests to come. Having the free shuttle helps. The parking garage is free and is very convenient for wedding guests to park. The service is amazing. All our wedding guests felt special because they were well taken care off. If I had to do it all over again, I would choose this venue and the team without any hesitation. I highly recommend this hotel. This team and the hotel deserve more than 5 stars.

  We just knew this was the right venue

  We had our wedding at the Westshore Grand and the place itself is just beautiful. There are so many different places to take great pictures especially in the atrium. But the other big reason we chose to have our wedding there was because of the director, Patty. I can’t say enough about her, she was easy and enjoyable to work with from beginning to end. She’s so knowledgeable, professional, always responded in a timely manner. She made the planning process a lot easier plus gave us so many good advise. Overall the food, place and staff were awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

  Highly recommend!

  Lets just start with Patty and her team are responsible for making this the best day of my life! From the first meeting to the day of the wedding they were on top of every little detail. Cannot say enough how much i recommend the Westshore Grand. My family recommends it so much that we've had 2 weddings here in less than 3 years. (Mine and my sisters) We love that it is so convenient to get to and from the airport with the free shuttle service because we had over 100 out of town guests. Which they greatly accommodated in the hotel. Everyone raved about the food and service all night and even after. We were extremely please with the food quality & portion sizes. The staff is very professional yet very personable. They take the time to get to know you so they can best take care of your needs. We truly felt special! Even the vendors we worked with had great things to say! Highly recommend the Westshore Grand and we will definitely be working with Patty and her team again. Thank you for making my wedding day a dream come true!!!

  Wedding Reception

  Where to start? This venue was absolutely fabulous. Patricia and her team saw to every detail I requested. The staff was nothing short of amazing. We chose the courtyard and the dining option thru Shulas. The food was so good. The bartender set up on the courtyard for happy hour managed everyone of our guests and with a smile. The accommodations for all of our guest were very upscale. The beds were comfortable and the view was romantic. I will call Patricia for other events and look forward to coming there to stay again!

  Amazing! Everyone at Westshore Grand that had a part in helping us create our wedding night made it nothing but magical! The team (especially Patty) was so sweet and very accommodating to our every need. From make-up in the Salon, to first look in the stunning courtyard, to an elegantly decorated ballroom, our night was a fairytale come true. They even had cake and champagne waiting for us in our hotel room at the end of the night, as if the reception wasn't special enough. I would recommend The Westshore Grand to any love birds that want delicious food, a professional staff, and a beautiful atmosphere! Or just for any party you want to have, whatever the occasion!

  We booked this venue for a high school prom of over 400 teens and adults and boy, were we impressed. The level of service from Patty and her staff was bar none. Set up was quick and easy with Thomas in charge. He went above and beyond to ensure our satisfaction. We had a food tasting prior to the event and the night of the prom, the food was fantastic, especially the antipasto salad (I want that recipe). My administration had no complaints and the kids were extremely well behaved as befitting a formal event.
  The fact that we had to do practically nothing, all the food and tables and setup was included in the price, sold me. We did add in draping the walls and ceilings, up lighting (LandLentertainment), airbrush artists (Sure Shots) in the courtyard and green screen photographer (Calvin Roe Photography), all of whom were professional, on time and as described.
  Patty informed us that the ballroom will be undergoing renovation over the summer, so it's going to be even better. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue for your event.

  Our daughter recently got married at the Westshore Grand, formerly the InterContinental Tampa. It was truly a magical wedding! The event coordinator, Patty Fernandez, was outstanding and made sure that every detail was done to perfection. Since our wedding followed Orthodox Jewish traditions, it was probably not the easiest to execute, but they were able to accomplish it flawlessly. The atrium where the ceremony took place was beautiful as was the ballroom for our reception. Our guests raved about the kosher food, service, and professionalism of the entire staff. The one phrase that we heard over and over was, " this was the best wedding we have ever been to". We are so happy that we chose the Westshore Grand. Our daughter's wedding was like a fairy tale!

  Our wedding reception at the InterContinental Hotel was simply AMAZING and PERFECT! Just like we dream our wedding to be. The coordinator, Patty Fernandez, was an angel sent from Heaven!!! She was extremely helpful throughout every step of the way. Patty's calm and professional demeanor is what every bride needs throughout this process. Patty speaks both English and Spanish, which was perfect for our families :) The Staff at the InterContinental is AMAZING!!! Everyone is extremely sweet, kind, and attentive. We were constantly receiving compliments from the staff, which we thought that was very sweet. Our guests couldn't get enough of the EXCELLENT service provided by every single member of the staff. The venue is perfect for small and large weddings. I had a medium-small wedding. I went from 80 to 60 guests, and the space felt perfect for that number of guests. The FOOD was DELICIOUS!!! The Chef is amazing!!! You will not regret choosing this place as your wedding venue. Thank you Patty and EVERYONE at the InterContinental Hotel Tampa for making our wedding so BEAUTIFUL and SPECIAL!! We are truly grateful and we will never forget you!!!

  I could not be more pleased with Event Manager Patty Fernandez and the gang at the Intercontinental Hotel in Tampa. They went out of their way to make sure we had a wedding that was classy, memorable and a lot of fun. Patty bent over backwards to make sure we had great value, offering a lot of freebies, including a suite for the wedding couple and complimentary room rental for the ceremony in their beautiful atrium!
  
  We had our rehearsal, ceremony and reception in the hotel -- all in different venues. All three were spectacular.
  
  The quality of the food served was amazing. It was all catered by the in house restaurant Shula's Steak House. Our guests raved about the beef tenderloin and the lobster. But it wasn't just the high end food that rocked. Everyone loved the mac & cheese bar they set up! The desserts were delicious!
  
  When we wanted special champagne or alcohol, that wasn't available at the hotel, they went out and bought it. Here's a tip. . . You can even request food that is not on the menu! They will find a way to make it happen. They even imported caviar for our champagne and caviar bar.
  
  Patty met with us whenever we wanted an update and was always available to answer our questions.
  
  Special note about the cost. . . We spent a lot on our wedding, but we got a lot of value. The Intercontinental does not nitpick with additional charges. To the contrary, they eliminated charges for us to make our wedding more affordable. I told them my budget and they made it work. They'll do the same thing for you!
  
  
  The only problem I had was the mandatory service charge, which I thought was exorbitant. Patty assured me it was the industry standard (and it probably is). However, I think the industry standard is too high. I leave this as a warning to you: whatever the bill is. . . plan on adding at least 30% to that for taxes and service charges.

  Patty and team where absolutely AMAZING. From day one she has been super communicative, professional and flexible. We had our reception there for 90 guests and she fulfilled all of our wishes in our list... from lounge seating area, curated food stations, hors d'oeuvre pairings... to signature cocktails. EVERYONE was impressed with the food and even after a few days still spoke about it. All was simply delicious. The wait and bar staff were also very friendly and Patty made sure that we were taken care of the moment we stepped off our limo. Patty went over and beyond our expectations and we are so happy we chose this beautiful hotel. Our guests stayed at the hotel for a few days, some coming from out of the country and all expressed how amazing the attention was from check in to check out. Our honeymoon suite was perfect and a great place to relax just before leaving to our honeymoon.

  Patty and team where absolutely AMAZING. From day one she has been super communicative, professional and flexible. We had our reception there for 90 guests and she fulfilled all of our wishes in our list... from lounge seating area, curated food stations, hors d'oeuvre pairings... to signature cocktails. EVERYONE was impressed with the food and even after a few days still spoke about it. All was simply delicious. The wait and bar staff were also very friendly and Patty made sure that we were taken care of the moment we stepped off our limo. Patty went over and beyond our expectations and we are so happy we chose this beautiful hotel. Our guests stayed at the hotel for a few days, some coming from out of the country and all expressed how amazing the attention was from check in to check out. Our honeymoon suite was perfect and a great place to relax just before leaving to our honeymoon.

  Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and InterContinental was the perfect location for it. I can't imagine it being any more beautiful or go any smoother than it did, thanks in huge part to Patty Fernandez at InterCon. She was a God send for us...she made sure that everything went smoothly and handled any issues that arose. She completely put us at ease, which is not the easiest thing to do when there is so much going on around you. I cannot say thank you enough for all of her help. The atrium was absolutely gorgeous for the wedding also! We had several comments that it was the prettiest wedding that they've been to. The weather was horrible on our wedding day, so it was nice to have it inside, but still have so much natural light from all of the windows in the atrium. Lastly, the ballroom was perfect for the reception. Our cocktail reception was in the Grand Foyer, then into the main ballroom for the reception. It was beautiful...the drapery and uplighting transformed the room! Again, we could not have picked a more perfect place to have our ceremony and reception. Not only was it beautiful, but it was also the most budget friendly venue that we considered. They did an amazing job of working within our budget, which was a necessity!
  
  The catering was also done by the hotel. The food and banquest staff, led by Atanas Atanasoz, were also amazing! The first thing that people commented on during the reception was how amazing the food was! We opted for the Cuban buffet, and the Mahi and chicken were delicious...not to mention the plaintains, cuban bread, mango and tomato salad, and veggies. It was honestly the best food that I've ever had at a wedding!

Since we now live in TX and we were getting married back in FL; there were A LOT of emails back and forth through the process. They were always very accommodating whenever I was in town and would always make time for us to meet and make sure we were all on the same page. Our wedding day was truly perfect. From the moment we arrived to the hotel (we upgraded to the presidential suite which is totally worth it), we were treated like royalty. We had wine delivered to our room, there was a turn down service every night and the night of our wedding we had champagne waiting and a bed covered in roses, not to mention a great box of chocolates. They really made me feel special all weekend. Patty went well above and beyond to ensure every single detail of our wedding was perfect. The food was so good and we all know that wedding food can not be the greatest. Everyone raved about cocktail hour and the delicious foods and desserts served on our buffet. If you want to feel like the center of attention and not compete with other brides the night of your wedding, please look into the Intercontinental!   We had our daughters wedding at the Intercontinental Hotel in October 2009. I can't say enough about how wonderful everything turned out. First of all, Robert Hayden was a dream to work with. His knowledge of food, wine and protocol was an immense help during the planning. He worked extremely well with our Wedding Planner to develop an unique wedding design for our daughters special day. ( ask to see the pictures). He also attended all meetings and supervised the reception in person (he also wore a color coordinated vest with his tux:)
  
  We went with a buffet instead of the sit down dinner. All the guests loved the food and the appetizers. The Bridal room was perfect for getting ready. We had all the bridesmaids, moms, flower girl, grandmothers in there to get ready. Then they cleaned it up and it was ready for the honeymoon suite. The guest rooms were very comfy and reasonably priced. We had no issues with the rooming lists or guests not getting what they requested.
  
  The Lobby was great for our guests. There is plenty of room for sitting and chatting with friends and family. There is a great bar in the lobby. There is also a coffee kiosk with snacks.
  
  We had the ceremony in the lobby which I was a little skeptical about. It turned out to be lovely and none of my concerns came to be. The hotel is a modern/asian fusion that works with with lot of different styles.
  
  There is a mall across the street with several really nice restaurants for the rehearsal dinner and shopping and movies to keep people busy between times. I also like the fact that there is a shuttle from the airport so our out of town guests did not need to rent a car.
  
  We used another venue for our older daughters wedding and I can say that the service provided here was a notch above.

  The Intercontinental Tampa provided absolutely fabulous. The staff was prompt to any requests or changes that needed to be made. We received several much appreciated surprises to make our day perfect. Our guests are still talking about how awesome our reception was.
