Mark is beyond talented! We won a giveaway that he did for a complimentary engagement photo shoot and instantly felt so comfortable. He doesn’t stage his pictures, he captures true moments. Once we got our pictures back we fell in LOVE with the way all of them looked. After reaching out to many other photographers we found mark and his team fit us best in what we were looking for, price wise & honestly how comfortable we felt at our engagement shoot. We felt like we have known him forever when in reality we just met him. We are beyond excited to have him shoot our wedding in May 2025! -

We first met Mark when he shot our engagement photos, and he immediately put us at ease. While taking our photos, we felt incredibly comfortable with his directions, and we had fun throughout the entire process. When we received our engagement photos, we loved them. Mark not only made my wife look beautiful, but he also captured the scenic location around us.
One year later, Mark and Tom photographed our wedding. Once again, we had a great time with Mark and Tom. Our bridal parties had fun with both guys, and their direction made it easy to take photos before our wedding. Mark kept us on schedule, but we never felt rushed or frantic as we took photos with our friends and family. My wife and I were particularly happy with the location of our first look. Despite the rain, Mark and his team set up the location perfectly, and it was a special moment that we’ll never forget.
During our ceremony, Mark and Tom flawlessly captured the look we desired. Their photos were intimate without being intrusive. My wife and I were able to enjoy the moment, and we felt confident that their team would preserve anything we missed. We particularly loved how Mark shot our first look of our reception room and our cake-cutting. Again, Mark took photos in a way that captured the elegance of our decor. Our cake-cutting photos were particularly beautiful, and now we have photos that remind us of the perfection of that private moment.
Once the party got started, Mark and Tom were on the dance floor the entire time with our guests, and our band and DJ. Their photos let us see how much our guests enjoyed our wedding and confirmed our decision to hire This Insane Idea Photography. If you hire Mark and Tom, know that you’re getting two professionals who not only will perfectly photograph your wedding, but do it in a way that allows you to thoroughly enjoy your special day.

A dear friend of ours, who happens to be a photographer, recommended This Insane Idea Photography to us for our wedding. We had been shopping around for photographers, but hadn’t found anyone offering the style and quality we wanted in our price range. When we looked through Mark’s website, we knew “that’s exactly what we want”.
We made our interest known and had a quick initial chat with Mark - his charisma and openness were abundantly clear and made us comfortable being ourselves (important for candid photos!). He answered all of our questions, including his strategy for capturing our diverse crowd of guests coming to our wedding.
A few months prior to our wedding, we had an engagement shoot with Mark on Princeton’s campus. He made us feel comfortable and close and had a constant stream of suggestions for poses and shots to take. We loved our Hogwarts vibes engagement shoot and getting to know Mark.
On our wedding day, This Insane Idea showed up in full force with Mark, Brittany, and Tom. They were on time and high energy and knew exactly what they needed to do. We weren’t expecting to get close to our photographers, but they are simply great people and we felt like friends by the end of the day. The photos are gorgeous, candid, and true to life. We keep reviewing them to relive our wedding from a million perspectives we didn’t get to see on the day of. It’s been a joy to zoom in on the photos and appreciate the details of the day, and the expressions on our guests' faces. We will treasure these photos and the experience forever. We can’t recommend This Insane Idea highly enough, do it! -

Mark & tom are the best!
Mark & Tom were AMAZING !!! From the beginning when I found Mark he reached out to me and we did a tentative timeline. Whatever questions I had before the big day he was there and responded quickly. The day of the wedding as soon as they arrived they got to work. We got our pictures back super fast and I AM IN LOVE !!! They captured the whole day perfectly exactly how I wanted them to. From getting ready to first looks, ceremony, reception, bridal portraits they did an amazing job. There was so many surprises that I wanted captured throughout the day and they caught them all. I 1000% recommend them and their team. Thank you so much Mark & Tom everything was Perfect!! -

Be prepared for an entire novel of a review, because I cannot express enough how Mark Edman helped make my wedding, the wedding of my dreams. For months I was nervously searching the web for photographers. Finding an amazing photographer was my top priority, because wedding pictures are a forever memory, of course!!! After searching through numerous photographers, and going through Mark’s portfolio, something told me he was the one, and boy were we right. From the moment Mark and I had our phone call meeting, his joyful and positive energy bursted through the phone alone. He was warm, welcoming, compassionate, excited and really made the entire process smooth and easy. He wanted to get to know my husband and I on a personal level. How we met, our interests. Mark made it feel like I was talking to a friend, and not just a “businessman” if that makes sense LOL. Just from that phone call, I knew Mark was going to be the best photographer I could ever ask for. Fast forward to wedding day, because then I’ll be here forever talking about how amazing he was just from the phone call LOL. When Mark got to the venue, his joyful personality made me instantly feel a sense of comfort on what was a stress filled morning. He gave me a rundown of how everything was going to work, answered all my questions, and then got to shooting. Mark was precise with each and every shot. From start to finish, he made sure to get perfect angles, lighting, poses. For my bridesmaids prep photos, his joyful energy made the pictures even better than I could have thought. He would position me and my girls, talk us through different looks for different shots, different poses for different shots. I can go on and on and on about all of the little (and big) things that he did to make my day perfect. Our first look, was everything I dreamed of because of Mark. He made it the most joyous experience, along with getting the most perfect shots. In the middle of our reception, unexpected fireworks started going off in the woods on the side of our venue. Mark ran up to us and said “would you be down to get some fireworks shots?!” We automatically said “YES” and we all RAN outside as fast as we could as Mark guided us through different poses to do and caught the best unexpected shots of us and the fireworks. My family non-stopped talked about how amazing he was as well. Omg, I need to stop talking because at this point, this review should be a book titled “How Mark Edman Was The Photographer Of My Dreams: A Novel” hahahahaha. But to finally end this review, we could NOT have asked for a better photographer. Mark was, and is, our dream photographer. We’ve found our photographer for life! -

Wedding oct 02
We hired Mark for our wedding for photos and OHMYGOD I can’t tell you how great he was. He came up with great energy, plans for the best photos(my husband and I are newbies to having photos done) and he was the ring leader on where to go and what goes next. He was beyond comfortable to work with. I would recommend him to absolutely everyone. My parents are still taking about how smooth it all went and how absolutely beautiful the photos came out. He was on his A game, the entire wedding. Great guy to have at your special event. -

Overall very dissatisfied with our experience. We booked a couples engagement photo shoot (it was not the cheapest for a young couple) . Overall unpleasant and unprofessional vendor. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere!
