  Nothing but wonderful!

  We recently got married at Thistle and I am SO SO SO glad we choose them as our venue!
  When we did our walk-through before choosing them, they went over and beyond answering any questions we had. And when we actually booked them, nothing changed at all! They were super responsive, easy to talk to, and super helpful with anything we needed!
  I want to give a huge shoutout to Chris who is the go-to man the day of our wedding! To say he helped is an absolute understatement. We honestly would not have had the perfect wedding we had without his help the day of!
  Between Chris, the entire team, and how BEAUTIFUL the venue is, I can not say how thankful I am to have had them apart of our big day.
  Seriously. I can not recommend Thistle Springs Ranch enough!

  Amazing! Highly recommended

  Thistle Springs Ranch was the most amazing venue! The gorgeous arch in front of the water was perfect for our outdoor ceremony. One of the best things about TSR is that I didn’t even need to purchase any rentals because it has so much beauty on its own (always nice saving money)! The people at TSR are amazing. I was always in contact with Meggan and she was so helpful and answered all my questions! And Kris does it all! From setting up the chairs and tables, making sure my husband and I got food, and ensuring everything ran smoothly... he was so attentive and great! Kris made sure I did not have anything to worry about on my day. I also recommend going with Lagniappe for florals because Ann knows the venue like the back of her hand and everything just turned out more beautiful than I could have ever imagined!

  Dream come true

  Not only is Thistle Springs Ranch GORGEOUS, but the family that owns it are some of the sweetest people you'll ever meet. Pretty severe flooding occurred in the weeks leading up to my wedding and while the venue was fine, getting out to the property became challenging. Ann kept me informed every step of the way and they ensured our guests made it safely to our wedding, all on their own dime. I fell in love with the space when I toured it, but I fell in love with the people who own and manage it because of their commitment to their brides and making weddings as perfect as possible. I don't have a single negative thing to say about TSR and everyone we interacted with. It is a breath taking venue owned by truly wonderful people.

  Thistle Springs was the first venue we looked at and we looked at A LOT! We knew right away that it was the place we wanted to celebrate our marriage! It is a wonderful, Christian family that owns it who wants to make sure you are well taken care of. It is just far enough out of the city to make you feel secluded and it was just the right amount of country charm with a vintage, classic twist, which was exactly what we were looking for. Everything down to the weather, the glassy water next to the ceremony space and the bell that was rung after we kissed was beyond perfect! Everyone said they felt God's blessings that day. It was truly a once in a lifetime feeling. We were able to do a walk-thru a couple of weeks prior to our wedding with our coordinator and Meggan was there to answer all of our questions and to offer great suggestions. Ann was also so sweet to come meet me before the wedding and offer such kind words and love. The only thing I would have loved to have been different would be having access to the venue for a quick rehearsal and having access to the venue prior to 12pm the day of the wedding without having to pay such high additional fees. Other than that, we couldn’t have asked for a better venue and a better staff to work with. Such kindness and love! Will definitely be recommending the venue to every bride I know!!!

  I cannot put into words how amazing Thistle Springs Ranch is! Ann, Cason, and Meggan are the sweetest and answered every question and concern I had during my wedding planning process.   If you are looking for the perfect rustic venue for your wedding, your search is done. The owners of Thistle have done an amazing job with this place. Everything on the property is extremely well kept and maintained. When inside the venue, it speaks for itself. We went with minimal decorations because we wanted all of the dark wood to truly stand out on its own. With bridal and groom suites on site, this venue is a perfect place to make your wedding an experience to remember. The staff is very quick to respond to questions and make suggestions. Our day of coordinator from the venue, Diana, was extremely helpful in making sure our ceremony and reception were well coordinated and taken care of. We did both our ceremony and reception inside the building, and the staff was able to flip the entire venue in about fifteen minutes. When we first started looking at venues online Thistle Springs was at the top of our list, and once we toured the venue we were sold! All our guests could not stop raving about the venue.   A week later and I’m still trying to figure out how to put so much emotion into words to convey to others what Thistle Springs Ranch and the family behind it all mean to us after having the privilege of having our daughter’s wedding at their gorgeous venue. From the day we first called to setup the tour to the day after the wedding the Wright family and their staff were everything we could have asked for and so much more. Even our photographer and stylist whom we flew in from Colorado, who have worked at some of the most beautiful venues in Colorado could not stop saying it was the most beautiful venue they’ve had the privilege of working at. Most important is that our daughter and her new husband couldn’t have asked for a more perfect wedding. The TSR family and staff could not have been more helpful during the planning, implementation and all the way to the end of the night. Lots of things had to happen for everything to come together and I knew that we were in the hands of people who knew just how special this day was for our daughter, family and friends. I sit here today with a heart full of gratitude and can say without a doubt that we couldn’t have asked for it to have turned out any better. Family and friends are still talking about how beautiful and perfect the wedding was. The day we toured TSR they were preparing for a wedding to happen in a matter of a few hours and we saw some of the most breathtaking floral and decorations created by Ann Wright/Lagniappe. It goes without question to couple the most beautiful venue with the most beautiful floral; the complete package.

  My husband and I were looking for an outside venue with a country chic barn for the reception. When I found Thistle Springs Ranch, I knew it was a venue we had to go see. Sure enough, as soon as we went to go visit, we knew that was the place we were going to get married. We got married a month ago and absolutely loved everything about our wedding!! I can not say enough good things about Cason, Kathleen, and the rest of the staff at TSR! They really helped everything go so smoothly. They made sure that I did not have to worry about a thing. There were so many things going on behind the scenes that I didn't have to worry about because I knew they were taking care of everything. We would definitely recommend this GORGEOUS venue to anyone!!

  Thistle Springs and their staff are beyond amazing! Words cannot express how grateful we are for everything they did to make our day so special. From beginning to end, the entire TSR team far exceeded any and all expectations.
  
  Throughout the planning process, they were always quick in responsiveness and super organized! Danielle was very accommodating, and helped us get all our paperwork, etc together before our big day.
  
  Fast forward to the week of the wedding, we ended up getting married during the worst snow storm of the year. Needless to say, there were just a few things that didn’t go according to plan. The TSR team and Cason worked with us, and were in constant communication with us the entire time, even updating us on road conditions, weather, etc. Cason, Kathleen, and the whole TSR team were beyond accommodating, and made a normally stressful situation as stress free as possible.
  
  The ceremony and reception itself far surpassed any and all expectations we had. Thistle Springs is a hidden treasure. This beautiful venue was a perfect dream, and far beyond what we could have ever envisioned or imagined for our perfect day. Beyond the gorgeousness of the venue itself, the staff at Thistle Springs and the level of service they provide to you the day of the wedding are just beyond words. We were absolutely blown away by their level of service. From the second you walk through the door, they make sure that any and all of your needs are taken care of. Kathleen is one of the sweetest people you will meet, and she goes above and beyond for you in every way possible. Everyone on the TSR team was so sweet and accommodating, we really can’t sing their praises enough.
  
  Our hearts will forever be filled with gratitude for all that Thistle Springs did to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams. This truly is a one of a kind wedding venue with a level of service that is hard to match.

We were so impressed with TSR from the very beginning of our planning stage, and we were blown away by how organized, professional and helpful the whole crew was. They helped my whole family so much throughout the day and always checked on us during the reception to make sure we had everything we needed.   Not sure where to begin...The facility itself was beyond gorgeous. We had read in a review about the smell when you enter because of the creosote used in preserving the wood used on the building. So yes, we did notice the smell when we entered for our original tour. But I would imagine all buildings of this such would have those. Once you are inside a few minutes you don't notice it anymore. Especially when you have a room full of people and food. During our tour, we met the owners Ann and John (two of the nicest, most wonderful people you could meet). It is all about first impression and Ann and John definitely made an impression on us. We left a deposit within an hour of arriving. It was perfect! On a second visit, to remind ourselves of what our setup would be, we met Kathleen and Cason (Ann and John's son and daughter in law). Kathleen explained exactly what she would be doing on the wedding day. Basically she was the wedding coordinator - made sure everything went exactly as planned! We could not have asked for any one person to better fill this role! Cason was the muscle of the operation. He took care of the wranglers and made sure the chairs, tables, barrels, everything of that nature was where we wanted it. Cason is an Aggie too..can't go wrong there. They even all helped us unload when we arrived and pack up at the end of the night and carry things to the cars. I just hope I get to attend another wedding there some day. The price may sound expensive but when you consider what all you get (Kathleen and Cason's help) it is well worth it! I just might have to have a big 30 year anniversary party there for my husband and I. I honestly cannot say enough nice thing about TSR. Definitely well worth the cost!

So yes, we did notice the smell when we entered for our original tour. But I would imagine all buildings of this such would have those. Once you are inside a few minutes you don't notice it anymore. Especially when you have a room full of people and food. During our tour, we met the owners Ann and John (two of the nicest, most wonderful people you could meet). It is all about first impression and Ann and John definitely made an impression on us. We left a deposit within an hour of arriving. It was perfect! On a second visit, to remind ourselves of what our setup would be, we met Kathleen and Cason (Ann and John's son and daughter in law). Kathleen explained exactly what she would be doing on the wedding day. Basically she was the wedding coordinator - made sure everything went exactly as planned! We could not have asked for any one person to better fill this role! Cason was the muscle of the operation. He took care of the wranglers and made sure the chairs, tables, barrels, everything of that nature was where we wanted it. Cason is an Aggie too..can't go wrong there. They even all helped us unload when we arrived and pack up at the end of the night and carry things to the cars. I just hope I get to attend another wedding there some day. The price may sound expensive but when you consider what all you get (Kathleen and Cason's help) it is well worth it! I just might have to have a big 30 year anniversary party there for my husband and I. I honestly cannot say enough nice thing about TSR. Definitely well worth the cost!

  Thistle Springs Ranch made our wedding exactly what I had always dreamed of! It is SUCH a gorgeous venue, with so many beautiful places for pictures, etc. We somehow managed to cram about 200 people in there, and it was perfect! I definitely don't think you can have up to 250 though.......that would be way too tight. The venue was so easy to work with and they were so nice! The only thing you should keep in mind from the beginning is the add-on purchases. for example, if you want you and your bridesmaids to get ready there all day, then I believe you have to pay $150 PER hour to be there in advance. Same thing with your vendors......if the band needs an extra hour to set up, you have to pay for that too. To me, it was worth it though! We loved it, and all of our guests had really nice things to say about it. I was worried people wouldn't want to drive that far out of Dallas, but it actually makes it more fun because it feels like a destination wedding. I would HIGHLY recommend this GORGEOUS venue for your wedding day!

  I have nothing but positive things to say about TSR! They made sure my wedding went along without a hitch, and were so sweet and professional! We had Ann's floral business Lagniappe provide our florals and they were so unbelievably beautiful! I would definitely recommend TSR to anyone, I am one happy bride!

  I adored thistle springs. The barn is so lovely and more elegant than rustic. I loved the fire pit outside and the upstairs area. The suites for the bride and groom were quite nice. There was a coveted outdoor area as well. Diana was so helpful and nice. She was married there so it was great hearing from a real bride. The one thing I didn't like was the outdoor ceremony site. It was very much farmland. No landscaping. heels and grass=Dirty heels.

  Thistle Springs is a beautiful place to have a wedding BUT the owners are very inflexible with your schedule, they will tell you something and go back on their word, and the rental period isn't long enough for what you pay for. When the rental is $6000+ for the venue alone and you only get it from 4pm-11:59pm, it makes it extremely difficult to setup on the bride and the other vendors, get ready/dressed, and be able to utilize time with your photographer (which I did not get to do) before guests arrived.
