We had the best experience with The Thompson. All of the people were so kind and helpful. One of my earrings even broke right before our welcome party, and someone ran us up gorilla glue to fix it 😂. Couldn’t have asked for a better hotel to share our wedding weekend with. Will be going back for staycations and anniversaries to come 🫶🏼

I cannot say enough excellent things about Lisa and the entire team at the Thompson Hotel. We just hosted our wedding there this past weekend (May 2022) and everything greatly exceeded our expectations. From the beginning, Lisa was great at answering all questions we had in a timely manner. She also worked extremely well with our wedding coordinator to ensure that everything (from dinner timing, to room layout, to photo locations) went off perfectly and on time. Lisa went above and beyond her normal duties as the event manager and helped us with behind the scenes décor issues as well. I had an image for what I wanted our wedding to be and Lisa and her team helped blow my expectations away.
They made a room that could fit hundreds of people feel full for a guest count of 80 - 90, the food was delicious and served hot, drink service was on time and no one ever had an empty glass, and the decor (flowers / linens / votives / dance floor / etc.) was setup perfectly.
The Thompson also did a great job ensuring all rooms in our room block were setup and available for when our guests checked in.
If anyone is having a wedding in the Austin area I'd strongly recommend you talk to Lisa and consider the Thompson!!

We were so happy to sign with the Thompson/Tommie as our headquarter hotel. I love their ‘two properties in one’ concept, offering a smaller, more casual room (the Tommie) for younger or more budget-conscientious guests and the more spacious, luxurious rooms of the Thompson. Both were super hip and beautiful and provided exceptional service. Our daughter loved her big corner suite. The hotel is located solidly in Downtown, close to all the action. We heard so many compliments on the property from our guests. A total win!

Our goal for our wedding weekend was to find a terrific venue that could host family and friends for wedding events, centrally located so travelers could experience Austin. The Thompson helped us create that special wedding weekend for our guests and family. Friday evening offered us a great opportunity to use the Wax Myrtle's event space to welcome everyone and the Thompson ballroom/event space provided a lovely area for our ceremony and reception on Saturday. The Chef worked with us on personalizing the menu offerings for our guests. The food and cocktail special requests turned out amazing. Guests raved about the food and service and went back for more. The extra event space for our performers during the evening was appreciated so they could prep and surprise our guests accordingly at the reception. The event planning/coordination team was a big help with ensuring our event was a success and addressing any last minute issues that our vendors experienced. While we experienced some challenges on the hotel room side of the hotel, the events team and catering staff hit it out of the ballpark for our wedding weekend!
