  So organized and on top of everything!!

  Alicia was truly a life saver!! She not only made day-of coordination smooth and worry-free (for us), but also assisted us with communication between other vendors, organization of the timeline, and filling in the smaller details we didn't even consider. Her and Deric were such a wonderful hype team and checked in on us, and our parents, throughout our wedding night (which was such a nice touch). They thought of everything and were always just a quick email away if we had any questions. Cannot recommend this team more!!!

  Dream Wedding come true!

  Alicia was an amazing Wedding Coordinator.
  We work a lot of clients and she was so organized. She stayed even after the wedding couple left for the evening to make sure the event was finished to standard. She was with the bride and groom for the entire duration of their event. Every detail was planned out. She and her team worked so well with us at Chicago Theater Works venue. We look forward to working with her again.

  Hats off to True Joy Weddings!

  I had the pleasure of working with Alicia for our wedding and can’t begin to express my sincere gratitude for all she has done to make our special day so seamless and organized. Originally, I had planned on bringing in a day-of coordinator but three months prior to the big day, it was clear to me that I was in over my head and needed someone to take over the planning. I interviewed several wedding planners, and my initial impression of Alicia was that she was very even-keeled, calm, collected, polite and very experienced. She was exactly who I was looking for. Immediately after the hand-off, I felt a huge weight lifted off my shoulder. In the first week alone, she sent out dozens of emails a day, caught so many details I missed and filled so many gaps in my planning. She also became very well-versed of all the vendor contracts, which came in very handy on various occasions. Alicia was on top of everything and sent me reminders of things I could easily overlook (from making sure I had nice hangers for my wedding dress photo to ensuring I had a dog caretaker for the ceremony). This among many things helped put my mind at ease, knowing no small detail was missed. Alicia was also a great resource. For example, she provided guidance on which vendors to tip and how much and helped me arrive to certain decisions by sharing her experiences (e.g., pros and cons of leaving wedding favors at a dedicated table vs on reception dining tables). During the wedding weekend, we also had the pleasure of meeting and working with Alicia’s husband Deric, who served as her assistant. They were such a great team and went above and beyond the call of duty. At the rehearsal dinner, for example, the room we had booked at the restaurant (before Alicia was hired) did not have sufficient space for us to rehearse. Alicia and Deric secured a room adjacent to our dining room at no cost before we even arrived. They took initiative so we didn’t have to worry or be bothered by it. Their execution of my vision for the big day was so flawless. We did not feel one bit of stress or anxiety. They exceeded all our expectations. For all the brides out there, you will be hard-pressed to find a more qualified wedding planner than Alicia and her assistant/husband Deric. We had such a wonderful time and glad we also made new friends in the process.

  Amazing wife + husband duo!

  Alicia was with me every step of the way to make sure my wedding day went off smoothly, from quietly fixing my wayward veil for the first 20 steps down the aisle to watching for my unplanned cues to cut off music early when it got awkward. Her husband Deric also went above and beyond - he gave out impromptu pep talks and got the crowd coordinated on the Chacha Slide. There's probably plenty more ways they worked behind the scenes to make sure we and our guests were able to just enjoy our day! For both our rehearsal dinner and wedding day, they were always first on the scene and last to leave, plus regularly checked in with us via text to make sure we didn't miss any details. It's been a joy working with them, so I highly recommend choosing them for your wedding!

  Where do I start with Alicia? Alicia came to me during small group and said “Hey, I have a wedding coordinating business, do you have one yet?” I was reluctant to having one in the first place because I had been looking around at the costs of them. Little did I know saying “yes” to having her as our go-to gal for our big day was by far one of our best decisions. Alicia constantly checked on me during the planning process and made sure each and every little detail was taken care of. I didn’t have to stress about every little detail leading up to the wedding or on the day of the wedding because I knew Alicia (and Deric, her husband) had our backs. We love her and 20/10 recommend True Joy Weddings to any and all with a wedding in their future.

  Thoughtful, flexible, and trustworthy!

  It was truly a pleasure working with Alicia during our wedding planning process. Without Alicia we would not have been able to pull off the wedding of our dreams. Early on in the wedding planning process, Alicia helped us think through details that weren’t on our radar. Alicia was always available to share her perspective when I had decisions to make and needed someone to talk through options and ideas. She is someone whose feedback and suggestions I can trust. Leading up to the wedding, she would drop by thrift stores to find decor and center piece items that I was looking for (gold picture frames and glass bottles), which was really helpful. She even helped with taking out the glass of each frame, and assembled some decorations for me before the wedding. Alicia also took the lead on arranging for picking up and dropping off the sound equipment rentals, which was not a small task and really appreciated as we left for our honeymoon the day after the wedding.

  Great experience

  True joy weddings is a newer wedding planning company and has definitely proven themselves to be very good at what they do. My now husband and I planned our wedding in less than 3 months and the only reason it was possible was because of Alicia. She helped solidify and find many of our vendors to our specifications and was there for phone calls, meetings, and site visits. She was available to us around the clock and was dedicated to our wedding. In addition, she and her husband/teammate was there the day of which was absolutely essential- the day was flawless while they put out fires I never even heard about. They made sure my husband and I enjoyed our wedding to the fullest. Thank you true joy weddings!

  Great Experience with TrueJoyWeddings

  We booked True Joy Weddings 6 months from our date and couldn’t have been a better decision for our piece of mind; both before and during. We had some vendors booked but Alicia laid out multiple options through her contacts for the ones we still needed to book, made herself available whenever we asked and took care of last-minute fire drills that came up the week of the wedding.
  
  They also took care of all the logistics (picking up special pies we ordered and transporting our decorations from the Rehearsal dinner to the venue) the day of so we could relax and enjoy ourselves. They also helped book a cruise for 100 of our wedding guests the next day, which we struggled with on our own.

  No initiative or problem-solving

  I would not recommend hiring True Joy Weddings. My spouse and I planned our entire ceremony and reception, and hired True Joy Weddings to handle the day-of coordination and execute the plan. Well, in summary, they didn’t do that. They failed to read the instructions we had left them weeks earlier (examples include: who to give camcorder chargers to, which guests needed vegan meals, bringing corsages to the right relatives), and as a result guests were left hungry, the bride had to handle day-of tasks, and there was no video of the ceremony or reception. The one plus was that they stayed til the end of the reception and helped pack up. Overall it was a waste of money to involve them.
