Micah & Shauna Elopement November 2020
I cannot say enough good things about Truly Me Weddings! My husband and I decided to do a destination elopement in Montego Bay and Chenelle helped us with every aspect, from filing for our marriage license to sourcing all of our vendors and even the location! We had a slight hiccup with the getting ready situation, and she completely surprised us with the most beautiful location to get ready at. Our day was a dream come true and felt like a fairytale day, and it’s all because Chenelle was there to make everything run flawlessly and made our vision come to life. French Bride and French groom get married in the Bahamas
With Chenelle from "Truly Me Weddings", our dream came reality.
She was disponible for us, she spend time with us by mails (we live in France) month ago before the wedding and face to face when we were in the Bahamas.

Truly Me Wedding is the bomb.com. From the very beginning to the end they have proven exceptional quality service to Arone and I. The daily, weekly and monthly checks were very professional and must I say well detailed. We didn’t usually have much questions after the sessions because they executed very well and most questions were answered before asking. I would definitely recommend them to anyone planning any event. What we loved and appreciated was the choices they gave with other vendors not being bias and giving sound advise about all. Thank you!!! We were renewing our vows of 15 years! I explained that we never had a wedding ceremony and Chenelle went above and beyond to ensure our ceremony was exceeded our expectations. Tamika Sent on 07/17/2018The service was extremely efficient. 10/10 for the commitment to perfection. My wedding would not have exceeded my expectations had Truly Me not put the golden touch on it. Even things I forgot were pin pointed and rectified. Meticulous and precise! I could just relax as Truly Me planned my wedding. On my wedding day I didn't have to lift a finger. The planner made sure all my vendors did what they were to do. The timeline we were given made the day go perfectly. The eye for detail was superb.

I wish I never hired them. The lack of attention to detail ans failure to execute on the day of led to unforgivable moments. The vendor issued a full refund without argument because they know how badly they messed everything up. The worst part is that these mishaps were caught on film so as I go through my very expensive photos and videos I get upset all over again seeing all of the things that were NOT done or were done wrong. I spent almost 10K on photo and video and everytime I look at them I get upset. I spent money on things that were never uses like chargers and special lights for our arch. Our welcome signs were nit placed where we discussed. Our welcome table was not placed where discussed nor was it properly set up so guests were unable to sign in. We almost missed the legal cutoff time to get married because after being ready for 45 minutes we still had not been queued to line up. What they were doing during this time, I have no idea. The pastor threatened to leave. I had to holler for Chenelle from my bridal suite because she was not answering the phone and when she finally came to see why I was calling her she acted like she was oblivious to the fact that everyone was waiting on her to start. Our memorial table wasn't set up properly at all! So disrespectful. Half the candles weren't even on the table but were sitting on a random chair in the audience. Threw off our whole candle lighting ceremony because now we're having to fix the table up. Half the framed photos of the loved ones we were honoring were laid on their backs instead of standing up. Someone's keys were randomly on the memorial table. We had to skip our unity ceremony due to the time issue. Our tent layout was nothing like what we discussed. The bar was set up in never never land so half my guests didn't even know it was open bar. No champagne was poured for our toasts. The cake knife was missing and there was no plate or fork there either so we had to stand there while someone went to find them. Then the cake was never cut or served so $800 cake gone to waste. My centerpieces for my guest tables were all put on the head table leaving my guest tables bare. Not even the napkins and place cards were put put correctly. This company has all these 5 star reviews and I don't believe any of them are legitimate. After my experience myself and guests are all wondering if my wedding was their first wedding. My stylist that I spent 5K to have there ended up running around all night trying to clean up the coordinators messes. I have guests that still think the stylist was the coordinator and what sucks is that her having to step into that role prevented her from being able to capture the pics and videos that she would normally have captured for social media so I missed out on getting to be celebrated by my styling company as well. There's so much more!
Everything was meticulously planned and the small details meant so much to us. I did all my own planning and everything was perfect until I gave up control on the day of. Isn't that what a day of coordinator is supposed to be for? To take over on the day and execute the vision I spent a year and a half creating? What was the point of all the meetings if they weren't gonna execute what was discussed. I very adamantly DO NOT recommend! I can never get my day back. A Valuable Lesson Learned
Good Day Candice, Thank you for taking the time to write another review. I am sincerely sorry that you did not get your dream wedding as every bride deserves. The full refund I issued of $600 USD for the month of Coordination was NEVER because of how badly I messed up BUT because it felt like the right thing to do. It was never about the money for me but seeing my bride and groom happy on their wedding day. I knew you were not pleased and I felt that yes I failed to make that happen. However, I believe that you have failed to acknowledge that several factors led to the numerous incidents that occurred. When we got the chance to briefly speak after the wedding I ACKNOWLEDGED my error which was accepting to help for FREE. Truly nothing is ever free because someone or something else will bear the cost.
We were contracted for Month-of Coordination which would officially commence 1 month away from the date. However, I over-extended and started meetings with you way earlier, provided free wedding consultations, attended a few vendor meetings and helped to source new vendors to help cut costs as this was a major need you had. In the early stages you asked for help to cut costs for the set-up fee one of your rental vendors had and based on the few things to be done I accepted as it was myself and an assistant on the day that was at no additional cost.
Closer to the date you began to provide even more decor instructions and requests that you wanted. At this point the discussion for help came up and it was clear that you wish not to spend any more money. The role of a decorator and coordinator are two distinctly different roles, based on the number of things you desired another team should have been responsible for executing. As you mentioned, when your stylist stepped in to do coordination, she failed to deliver on styling which is the same effect that happened when you asked me to be the decorator. Notwithstanding, at the dress rehearsal I realized that you failed to provide updated information such as the wedding playlist and vendor invoice among other things. Hence the contract was breached and I had every right to cancel. Instead, we pushed through and did the best that we could. You raised several issues in your review and just to highlight a few points below:
Chargers were never provided. One of your guest was responsible for carrying it but left it.
The ceremony area was set up on time and when I checked the party was not ready. Since I was also responsible for setting the table cloth and placing other items down such as placecards etc I had to focus on setting up the cocktail area then the reception. That is what I was during in the interim. However, I fail to understand why you would sit and wait. I believe your wedding party and even the matron should have assisted in communicating to me that you guys were ready.
The picture frames were set upright but the wind would constantly knock them back over. I accept responsibility that the candles were misplaced and for that, I sincerely apologize.
The tent layout had to change from what we discussed because you reduced the size of the tent. The LED dance floor could not fit in the center and the only options from the rental team were to the left or right of the stairs. We chose to lay it closer to the stairs as you expressed the desire for it to be close to when the party entered.
I ensured the Cake was brought to the kitchen to be cut and informed the catering vendor of this. This matter has nothing to do with my services as you and the caterer came to your own resolution.
In the rush of preparing the reception, I went for your matron and best man whom you stated I could trust with advice and with any issues. I asked them to take one final look to see if anything was misplaced before we started the reception and they did not have any corrections. Since there were so many mistakes it appears that they were not knowledgeable of what to expect.
The solar light you provided was in the sun the whole day and when it was time for it to light it failed to do that. I did inform you that when we were testing it it had glitches but we hoped for the best.
The tiki torches were not approved to be dugged into the ground and though you wanted them the venue did not approve of this. I also informed your matron that the tiki torches were not possible.
At this point, I wish to highlight an excerpt from the contract.
Client Responsibilities: It is your responsibility to provide me with contact names, telephone numbers and any scheduled timetables for all service providers involved in the wedding ceremony/reception no later than 14 days prior to the wedding. Failure to provide this information will render me incapable of performing my tasks properly and is grounds for cancellation of this contract. It is also your responsibility to notify me of any changes in a timely manner. I shall not be held liable for any changes made by you or your selected service providers. It is your responsibility to inform all vendors, immediate family, the wedding party and anyone with a role in the wedding, that I will be the wedding coordinator on the wedding day, I am the sole contact for all matters related to the wedding and that I have your full authority to make any decisions on your behalf on the wedding day
The Wedding Planners cannot guarantee that your day will be perfect and is not responsible for anything beyond our control. What we can guarantee is that we will do our best to ensure that all problems are averted or dealt with in the quickest, most inconspicuous way possible. End of excerpt
In light of everything, we were appreciative of the experience and I can assure you that this was the first we have ever experienced this. Yes you did an excellent job of planning and I commended you for that. Sadly, the expectations were unrealistic in believing that a team of two would be able to coordinate, decorate, set up and break down without assistance. There is a lot more I could say but we have both learned from our mistakes.
