User2104967 Sent on 04/22/2015We hired Sherri as our Day-Of Coordinator, and it is the BEST decision I could have made. I cannot say enough about her and her husband, Barry. Sherri made sure she was in the loop throughout the whole wedding planning process even though we had only hired her day-of coordination. She was prompt and thorough in her responses throughout the process. When we had to relocate our reception due to complications at our original venue, (they closed) she helped us to locate a new venue. She even provided vendor recommendations that met our budget. Sherri did a venue walk-through. While at the venue she gave great suggestions as how to decorate the venue and optimize the space that I had not considered- she has a great eye for detail! Additionally, Sherri had to arrange some decor, and I felt completely comfortable in leaving details in her capable hands. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Sherri confirmed all details with my vendors, and even caught a few mistakes, which due to her attention to detail were rectified! Sherri attended our rehearsal and ensured that my bridal party, parents, and in-laws knew where they needed to be and when. On the day of the wedding, she arrived on time with her husband. Prior to the wedding ceremony, Sherri and Barry handled several unforeseen circumstances SEAMLESSLY!! AMAZING. They kept me stress-free and HAPPY throughout the entire day - it was truly perfect. At the end of the night, I felt taken care of from beginning to end, and I owe a big part of this to Sherri and her husband. I said it before, and I'll say it again, if you are looking for a wedding planner/ day-of coordinator, look no further - Sherri is your girl! -

The staff was available and happy to answer all of my questions and, as they promised, I was able to be a guest at my own party with no worries. The service was spot on. More importantly, the customer service was outstanding. My guests and I had a wonderful time. I can not imagine having to put all of the elements of my party together without them. -

User2095105 Sent on 04/13/2015My husband and I needed a day of coordinator to help us keep track of the vendors, set up before the wedding, and break down and clean up after the wedding. When I spoke to Sherri on the phone she sounded wonderful and put my mind at ease, but things quickly went downhill. Sherri took several days to respond to questions from me and the other vendors, she couldn’t remember things I had told her many times, and worst of all she was unprofessional! One vendor refused to work with her because of her attitude.
On our wedding day, my husband, the groomsmen, and my father-in-law went to the venue to help set up. Sherri had a detailed diagram of the set up prior to the event but she could not direct the vendors. She could not instruct the florist where to leave the flowers or the arch, she could not set up the dining room tables, and she didn’t know how fold linen napkins. The groomsmen and the catering company did all of the set up. When the bridal party arrived at the venue, we found the bouquets and boutonnieres in a box and quickly got everything together ourselves before the ceremony. Sherri and her husband stood at the back of the aisle to guide us so they are in the background of every ceremony aisle picture we have!
During the reception, Sherri continuously asked my mother-in-law for help finding things (such as the wine for the bar and silverware) so my mother-in-law could not relax as a guest. Half- way through the reception, Sherri told me how far behind schedule we were yet she didn’t do anything to help. Sherri then had a migraine and sat in the office for the remainder of the reception. When it came time to break down and clean up, she and her husband were GONE. My father-in-law and husband stayed to clean up just so we didn’t lose our $1,000 deposit.
Please don’t make the same mistake we did; do not hire Turnkey Events.Turnkey Events's reply:
GROSSLY MISUNDERSTOOD
This couple grossly misunderstood the Day of Coordinator responsibilities. It was clearly explained what our responsibilities entailed as Day of Coordinators in our contract. We were not their Event Planners. The bride & groom were their own Event Planner and we advised them numerous times that they needed additional staff for set up of the ceremony and reception and breakdown. We did not select the venue, hire any vendors, nor negotiate contracts, we were not permitted to prepare a time-line schedule but instead was given one, which would have been our responsibility. We inspected the venue and met with the venue coordinator pre-reception, performed the rehearsal and communicated with all vendors
They advised us that the “caterer” would put on additional staff and do the set up. When we arrived at the venue the day of, no additional help was provided. Caught in an unexpected predicament in order for the wedding and reception to take place, we set up the 135 chairs put on the chair covers and sashes, put the linens on the 17 tables, and set the tables with glasses, flatware, dishes and folded napkins. I was asked to set the tables since the “caterer” had no idea how to set a table or where a fork or glass was placed. The wine was brought to the venue by the groom and was not placed at the bar.
The Chef showed up one hour late making the sit down dinner over one hour off the time-line. The “caterer” brought 4 waiters to serve a formal sit down dinner to 135 guests. The last table was served over one hour into the dinner. The caterer and couple expected us to bus the cocktail hour as well as the reception dinner.
We stayed until the party was over, removed all linens and chair covers from the tables, got all the gifts ready for pick up, packed up everything that belonged to the couple and we admit that we would not stay to fold up the tables and chairs and stack them for the rental company to pick up.

Unfortunately, they were getting aggravated with me because I had questions about their pricing and the time in which I wanted to hold my wedding. I had already paid their wedding planning fee. I had not made any other contracts with them nor solidified any dates with other vendors. I made my own hotel reservations. I eventually requested my money back and they denied my request stating that they had completed my planning. I only communicated with them for a few weeks and my wedding was still 8 months out. We planned over email, but no actions were carried out yet. Be careful with this company. Once you pay them, they are not as friendly with carrying out your wishes. In a business, you have to be able to deal with all people if you accept their money. They did not handle my wedding plans very well at all, but still took my money and would not return it.

Latasha gave us a small deposit. We did all the work, found the right venue, hired the DJ and photographer and arranged for cake and flowers. Latasha decided to cancel her wedding and wanted a refund of her small deposit after all of the work was done. She did not pay our fee, only a retainer.
