We had our rehearsal dinner and welcome event here and it was such an amazing way to kick off our wedding weekend! This is a guaranteed venue to WOW your guests! Amazing views, amazing food and the venue is beautifully decorated!

We held our international wedding at the University Club venue. We wanted a stunning place for all our traveling guests to enjoy. The planning process with Cheryl was very smooth and easy (even from the East Coast where we live). Her team followed through with all the ideas we discussed. She suggested MRFloral as a florist and Events Inspired as our coordinators, and they were both also phenomenal and familiar with this venue.
Our guests were blown away by the view, decor, and the menu we had chosen. The venue chef and service staff are top notch! Highly recommend for an evening wedding (post sunset). The sunset view is spectacular, but once the sun stop shining through the windows, the night scape is brilliant! We did our ceremony after sunset so the sun wouldn't be shining in our guests' eyes or have to pull down the sun shades and block the view.

It took months to pick the right venue and we nailed it. Everything was perfect. I didn't have to worry about anything. Great staff and great location

I highly recommend this place, people is friendly, they have a good quality of the service, food is good, the view from the highest building it is breathtaking. All the guest love it as my husband and l wished.

The University Club atop Symphony Tower is where we had our wedding reception. We worked with Bridgette Bower and AJ and the two of them put together a magical evening that surpassed all of our expectations. They met with us and gave us some great suggestions. We used a DJ they selected who was great. The best part of course is the meal service. The food was almond crusted halibut or fillet mignon. Each meal was perfectly prepared. All of our guests raved about the four course meal. The food quality was outstanding and we eat out a lot at all the best restaurants. We purchased our own wine and brought it in advance and they served it perfectly. They used Reidel glasses for the meritage, the same type we have at home.

Now the service. They provided about 1 server per every 15 guests and the service was impeccable. They did not rush us nor did we wait forever for a dish. The plates all arrived at once for each table. There were no mix ups on anyone's order.

The Grand Ballroom is beautiful and our wedding reception was on a saturday night was at sunset. Perfect setting, perfect service, perfect food. AMAZING.

THis place was awesome. They were able to organize a wedding in 3 weeks. I can't even begin to tell you how they saved me on my special day.

Staff exceeded our expectations and matched the view. Wish we could do it all over again. So much fun that we have now become members.

Fabulous service, fabulous food, fabulous view! Our wedding reception couldn't have gone more smoothly. Ed Nesfield was professional, super responsive and did everything he could to make sure the evening went off without a hitch. I'd have no hesitation in recommending this venue to anyone, for any occasion.

How does one begin describing a perfect evening? I suppose when your wedding guests are still raving about The University Club over a year later that would be a great place to start!

Ed Nesfield, Bridgette Bower and their team truly were remarkable to work with. From start to finish, everyone was so professional, flexible, friendly and patient.

This was the last venue on my list to visit and I almost skipped it because I thought I found the perfect wedding venue. I'm so glad I didn't because the moment my husband and I exited the elevator, the view took our breaths away and we knew we had to have The University Club for our wedding!
Bridgette was AMAZING! She is super kind, patience and creative and I am still trying to find an excuse to get to work with her again and throw another perfect event! The University Club is such a classy, posh and unique venue. I would HIGHLY recommend them.

Just had our wedding at the breathtaking University Club atop Symphony Towers. By far the best venue in downtown San Diego. Our guests can't stop talking about how elegant our wedding was. Brigette made the process seamless, she was prompt, professional and helpful. Having our wedding on a holiday Sunday allowed us to have the entire venue to ourselves. Though the food and beverage is a high price point you have no venue rental fee for the best view in all of the city! One of the best parts about the space it they have no real rules or regulations so you can make everything your own. Most people think members only equals stuffy; though the venue is refined it is anything but stuffy, the newly renovated space is welcoming and classic yet still modern. Loved everything about it.

I don't have a membership here, but I did have my wedding reception at the University Club back in January (they allow a certain number of non-member events per year). We had about 140 guests. The info packet says they can accommodate 175 guests for a sit-down meal, but I wouldn't recommend more than 150 otherwise it may start to feel very packed.

Ed is in charge of organizing events and was a true pleasure to work with. From my many questions during the planning process, our meetings, accommodating our special requests, providing input, he was always patient, friendly, and helpful.

AJ and his staff took over after Ed made sure everything was set up the day of. They made sure our head table was always taken care of and were super attentive! Our entire bridal table was treated like VIP.

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding venue! Our guests raved about the breathtaking views and delicious meal.

Brigete was awesome all around!! She was professional yet warm, very responsive and prompt with everything she did..couldn't have asked for a better person of contact

My reception came out beautifully thanks in part to your beautiful venue and of course with Brigete's help throughout the whole process!

There were only a few hiccups the day of:
(1) The entree portions were smaller than the ones at the tasting
(2) The salad came out limp, soggy, and overdressed (yes, I'm aware that the kitchen is serving 150 people but maybe toss the salad 10 minutes before dinner service?!)
(3) Too much time elapsed between the time the cake was taken to the kitchen to be plated, to the time it was served because most of the guests left by the time it was served

Those were my only hiccups of the night but other than that everything was wonderful and magnificent

Again, I can't thank Brigete enough and sing her praises enough!

The university club Is beautiful. Good location, available parking. The views at this location is wonderful. Hands down the best sky view I have seen. The Staff is very Professional and a joy to be around. If your looking for a wedding venue this is an amazing place.

The staff at the University Club was very professional. The venue itself was extraordinary. The fact that we were able to rent the entire club on a Sunday was a hugh bonus for us.

This venue was newly renovated when we selected it for our wedding reception. The amazing views were the number one selling point. The decor was modern and colorfully sophisticated. The food was delicious, which is always hard to slam dunk with weddings. Staff was friendly and professional, and everything was reasonably priced.

The University Club was a gorgeous venue. The service there is unparalleled and the food is fabulous. For the bride and groom who wish to have a relatively small to medium sized wedding (max capacity 120) and one that is elegant and classy, this is an awesome venue choice. On the 34th floor of a high rise in San Diego, the view is amazing. One thing to be mindful of is one either needs to be a member of the club or have a sponsor who is a member to throw an event there.

I got sold with the view! The best view there is, apart from that, the interior's feel of modern chic solidified my wedding theme. The staff provides quality service. So even if the value is towards the expensive side, quality and view makes up for it. The food is scrumptious. Just one tip, the minimum food and beverage minimum was not clearly explained to me therefore I ended up paying more than expected.

The university club is on the 34th floor with panoramic windows. the view of downtown san diego and the water/bridge is breathtaking. Weddings on sundays get the trendy lounge area as well. The food is fantastic - as confirmed by my foodie husband and all his gourmand friends! Guests loved the food, decor and the views.

WEDDINGS. Brides/Grooms please be aware. The headache is not worth it here, please find a venue that will provide a much better experience. Poor customer service and dishonest practices by Claire and Janissa, the event director. Main take aways are; they have proven to be non responsive, contractual obligations not fulfilled, hidden charges outside of contract applied to my account with no resolution to date, and details left out completely on the big day. Currently have a “refund check” that is still in their possession for their deceitful charges and my event was almost 2 months ago. I will not rate for the view like everyone else seems to be doing as that is a given and what we paid over $20k for. A common theme here was that I was never made aware of charges until you log in to your portal and see an outstanding balance with no details. After addressing it, the charges would be for things added that I never even asked for or wanted. A very shady place to do business.
