I literally don’t know what to say.
Valerie went above and beyond . Since the moment I attempted to book her - she made sure she was the right person for me, as she was not just looking for a paycheck. So much so that We spent an hour on the phone discussing cool things at Costco just to ensure our personalities meshed before she’d let me pay her anything.
Because Life happens i had to cancel our engagement photos.. which is not what any bride wants, to have a surprise photographer you have no chemistry with on your wedding day… but that wasn’t the case at all. Minutes in I felt like she was someone I’ve Known forever as opposed to someone I officially met minutes ago. She felt like a close friend I let ‘in’ on our intimate moments like the First look as opposed to someone hired.
She made my entire party, family, and my introverted self exceptionally comfortable.
We recently went to a friends wedding who’s destination wedding had an inexperienced ‘photographer’ who had to ask the party ‘when you use the flash’.. and she’s since spent the past few months self editing the photos received…
Long story semi short, I was terrified of what to expect. I am not a particularly confident woman, but am so I’m love with EVERY photo Valerie took. -

Beautiful Work and Phenomenal Vendor!
Myself and my business partner, Bridget, make up a team of two wedding planner/coordinators. We have worked with several hundred photographers in the almost 1000 weddings we have done over 28 combined years in the Seattle Wedding Industry. There are a rare few with the attention to detail and determination to get "THE SHOT" like Valerie Blake. She tells a story for her clients without sound, and with every single image she delivers. They are wistful, romantic, passionate, and powerful. Light & Airy/ True To Life Color are extremely POPULAR categories which she truly shines in. We are exceedingly proud to feature ANY work immediately from her on our website, blog and social medias. As a vendor, I am so thankful for the born storyteller photographer behind the lens that showcases any work of ours, with such thoughtfulness and a distinct point of view like she does. She goes to great lengths for her clients, and is determined to showcase the very best of that small moment in time that she gets to share with them. We instantly clicked the moment that I called her to touch base about an upcoming mutual wedding, and I am so thankful we met. We can't wait to work together again and I hope any prospective client just hires her. She is a joy to work with and a fantastic photographer. Her work is impeccable, professionalism is top notch and you will not EVER be disappointed by her. We hope and pray that she is still available when we call to refer our clients! -

Best Photographer Ever
I found Valerie from a wedding Facebook group and messaged her one early morning at 2am. To my surprise she responded and instantly I had the feeling of “oh yeah this the person I want on my team”. We did our first engagement shoot in the snow and rattle snake lake, it was my husbands first time taking professional pictures and Valerie made the session so effortless, we were able to act like our goofy selves without it seeming like a photo shoot. She would climb onto things or sit in the snow just to capture the perfect picture of us, she made us actually laugh when it came to candid pictures, every moment was 100% real. I was so excited for our wedding so we did another engagement shoot where we drove over 4 hours to the Olympic mountains. Another amazing photo shoot, had so much fun, she knew of all these amazing places to stop at for a beautiful scene, places I had never heard of! My big wedding got postponed so we eloped and had a small one, she captured that beautiful day and then we had her there at our big wedding. We’ve worked with her 4 times now since 2020 and each time is better than the last. She’s become more than just a photographer to us, she’s a great friend. Valerie is such a talented photographer and everyday I thank my lucky stars that I emailed her that one morning at 2am because now I have amazing pictures that I get to look back on and have beautiful memories forever -

It was an incredible experience working with Valerie and Erin! The energy they brought to our special day helped my wife and I stay focused all while having the time of our lives. Our wedding day was made to be amazing and was memorialized in some of the best photos I have ever seen. I tell you if she can make me look good, imagine what she can do for you! Sandra and I are so thankful and would highly recommend to anyone! -

We had the most amazing time working with Valerie for our wedding photography. She delivered our photos within 4 weeks, she gave us more sneak peaks than promised, and she even went out of her way to give us photos of a family member that we needed sooner than the 4 week mark. She replied to constant texts and emails within minutes and she always had a way of saying the best and most calming things. During the wedding, she would photograph different things and come over to me and show me how they were looking, it was actually really sweet.
When delivering our photos, she also gave us an added perk. She went as far to give us a highlight reel with our First Dance song and even one of our other favorite songs. She didn't ask us for this music, she just got to know who we were and added them in herself.
Her professionalism and how she makes you feel like you aren't hiring "help" are exactly why we knew she would be amazing for the job. We didn't just gain an amazing photographer for our lives, we gained a true friend. Valerie makes your event/session seem like just everyday life and doesn't add any pressure. She also will make sure you get the look and feel of the photos that you want in the end. I cannot say enough amazing things about her and her business. We will absolutely be return customers! -

Extraordinary wedding photographs
Valerie eased every worry i had about my photos. Me and my husband are 16 inches different in height. Because he’s so much taller than me, we had photographers say i couldn’t do certain shots. Valerie spent so much time going through what i wanted and didn’t kiss a single shot the entire day. She hung out with us girls while we got ready and took beautiful photos of every single event of the day. She was attentive and professional and she worked her ass off with a smile the whole day! -
