Maranda Sent on 09/10/2018My husband and I got married on 6/22/18. While planning our wedding we were lucky enough to watch Valerie and Ed shoot a family member’s wedding. I’ve never seen two people be in so many places, what seems like, all at once. They are quite literally, all up in your business...in the best way possible. I told Valerie I was getting married the following year and she gave me her card. Having them as our photographers was one of the best decisions we made during the planning process. Valerie is very easy to contact and is never too busy to talk. She doesn’t just treat you like a client she treats you as a friend. The day of our wedding couldn’t have gone any smoother. Valerie and Ed had great energy and anything I needed she was there helping me. She and Ed got so many wonderfully shots and captured details even I missed! Valerie is either climbing on top of furniture, standing out in the road and/or completely upside down to get the perfect shot. Ed took some of the most unique photos, he caught moments of the night from a completely different perspective. The both of them together make a great team and bounce ideas off of one another wonderfully. I did not feel like they were our photographers. When the party started and everyone was on the dance floor, they were out on the dance floor getting absolutely EVERYTHING! I was amazed to see how many people were around us enjoying themselves and having such an amazing time. These photos make it all so very worth it. I felt like Valerie and Ed have known us forever and were celebrating with us. I would absolutely recommend them to everyone and anyone who is getting married and truly want their night to be captured nothing less than perfectly.

User2085979 Sent on 04/02/2015Some of the most creative photographers in Charleston. Arrived at the venue before the bride and even did an impromptu shoot. Pictures were awesome and she was photographing under the radar all night. -
User2113260 Sent on 04/29/2015We used Valerie & Co. Photography for both of our daughter's weddings which were 8 months apart. We could not have been more impressed with Valerie and her assistant. Valerie is able to take a common background and make it look awesome. She captures moments that are beautiful and timeless. Her photograph albums are absolutely gorgeous and wonderful quality. Everyone which we have shared them with says the same thing, "These are the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen!". If you are going to skimp on anything, don't let it be your photographs - after the wedding, that's all you have left! I would definitely recommend Valerie & Co. Photography for any special event you may have! -

I knew that I could get a great dress, beautiful flowers, loving fiance, doting guests, amazing venue, but seriously - when you're old and grey - what do you use to look back on the whole thing to tell your story, capture the magic and really show offer the experience???? The pictures. Valerie did such an amazing job. She came with us to Maui - captured the whole experience - rehearsal, luau event, fire dancers, acrobats, couples pictures of our wedding party, tourist events, dinners, drinks, the venue, getting ready, the groomsmen & groom (my goodness i've got an adorable hubby), my bridesmaids, our families and, of course - me, my dress, flowers, and everything that made the day special.
Her pictures were thoughtful and creative. She made us comfortable and we never felt like it was taking a long time to do pictures (which happens a LOT in this industry). She captured the romance, fun, affection, humor, and magic of the entire Maui wedding experience.
When it came time to get the photos she put them in an awesome coffee table book (no shutterfly grab and go here), and made sure that anyone from the event had the opportunity to get pictures (which was especially nice since she took sunset Maui pics of all the couples and groups). I really can't recommend her highly enough. She's a great traveler so she's perfect for destination weddings and is super low maintenance and on top of her game. Stop looking elsewhere - contact her - tell her I said hi. From one bride to another - if you want magic - she is the magician.

User2496023 Sent on 01/06/2016This is going to be a very long and heartfelt review, so please read wisely. It has taken over two years for me to get the courage to write reviews regarding her company...We hired Valerie for our wedding and engagement photos in 2012, a lot of our friends had used her and we fell in love with her photos. Mind you, we live in Charleston, SC where there are literally hundreds of amazing photographers, but we chose her. Everything seemed great in the beginning, but it slowly started going downhill when we met for engagement photos.
Valerie was almost an hour late and made the excuse that she had double booked us with a Jazz Festival on Kiawah, wishing that she could've stayed there because she was making a large salary by the hour... She seemed inconvenienced that she had to be taking our engagement photos and essentially complained the entire time. This truly hurt our feelings, but we brushed it off and moved on and were mostly pleased with how our engagement photos turned out. Throughout our communication, she was a little frantic and tended to get off topic, but once again we brushed it off and moved on. From there, we met to discuss wedding details days before the wedding and were very uncomfortable during this meeting... feeling rushed and like our wedding was not a priority. She kept pushing the idea of a first look with my husband, but my husband simply wanted to see me for the first time while walking down the aisle. We left this meeting very worried and finally wondering if we made the wrong decision, but little did we know our wedding day became the icing on the cake.
