  Exquisite Food, Excellent Service - Not a Caterer, Truly a Chef

  Food was probably the #1 most-important thing for our wedding, and we were really looking for someone who could provide us with a step above the traditional "caterer" experience. When we met Jesse, the chef, it was all over within about 5 minutes. Not only is he super personable and passionate about what he does, his food is exquisite. His execution on all things is amazing - from classic french cuisine all the way down to fried chicken and waffles. We wanted our food to be elegant but at the same time accessible and delicious, and Jesse helped us put together a menu that fit our taste level while hitting the spot on the kind of thing that makes you want seconds and thirds. My husband's favorite food is pesto, so Jesse put together two dishes that incorporated it without feeling repetitive - a creamy pesto cavatappi pasta and pimenton roasted chicken thighs with pesto. People were raving about both. We also had a delicious pepper-crusted pork loin with creamed corn (I literally did not like creamed corn until this man served it to me), and a hearty vegetable ragu with the best flavors. Also, of all the things that stood out on my wedding day, the salad was honestly among the top - it was so delicious I think I had four helpings. We rounded out the night with our late-night snacks - sliders and grilled cheese. My husband reverts to his five-year-old self when it comes to grilled cheese and prefers Kraft American Singles, while I tend to prefer something a little fancier and fun, like a white cheddar with jam, so Jesse made two different versions for us. People were raving to me all night about how delicious everything was, and I still dream about that salad. It's also worth mentioning that we ate at their restaurant in town the day before the wedding, AND got takeout for lunch the morning-of because we literally couldn't get enough of their food.
  
  In terms of logistics, Jesse's wife Erica had everything down to the last detail. We landed on family-style dining (less expensive than plated, but felt more elegant than buffet), and I was nervous about having enough servers and enough food. Erica went above and beyond to make sure those fears were unfounded - there was a server nearby every time I looked up, and fresh hot plates of food were coming out constantly. It was honestly like being at a high-end restaurant with 170 of my closest friends and family. Erica was incredibly responsive every time I reached out, which was much-appreciated since I was planning the wedding remotely. She struck a wonderful balance of weighing in with her expertise and advice, while also being 100% committed to making anything work based on my preferences. There was even one moment in time where we had a slight misunderstanding about something, and Erica took responsibility for it, no questions asked (even though it was partly on me), and offered several solutions to make it right. Such a refreshing experience especially since I was dealing with the exact opposite level of service from the venue owner for the event.
  
  Conclusion: Cannot recommend Valley Commissary enough for literally anything (whether a huge event or just a Saturday lunch), and I know the other reviews will echo my sentiment. Worth every penny if you want your food to be stand-out amazing on your special day.

  Honestly I don't remember much from the wedding day, I know I ate good food but things move so fast everything was a blur! That being said, the two comments I got regarding the wedding were "we had so much fun dancing..." and "OMG the food was amazing, and the servers were great!" So considering they were in the top two compliments we got about our day, they must have done pretty freaking good. We had burgers at our wedding because that has always been a life goal of mine, and they were delicious. And the mac n cheese they served on the side... still thinking about it. They really take the time to customize their food and make it all unique and delicious. It was affordable too! I highly recommend working with them; they are responsive and accommodating, their food is delicious and specially crafted for each wedding, and their professionalism the day of was top notch. Thank you!!

  We couldn't have been happier with Valley Commissary. From our first contact with Erica who was our contact and Jesse, the chef, to the actual day of, we knew we had chosen the right caterers. The food was seasonal, fresh and creative. We had a brunch wedding and didn't want eggs, so what else is there? Jesse came up with a seasonal hash and added bacon and field greens as well as a watermelon and tomato panzanella that guests are still talking about. They were great at creating a menu that not only accommodated, but really went out of the way to provide amazing options for vegetarians and folks who are gluten free. Valley Commissary was full service for us--they provided the morning pastries and beverages, as well as the brunch and our donut "cake." The servers and bartender were on it the whole morning. In fact, Valley Commissary beat us to the venue and was almost completely set up by the time we arrived. I've hired caterers in the past for work events and can easily say that Valley Commissary is among the best. We also hosted our evening before reception at Valley Commissary's restaurant in McMinnville. The food and service was equally great. We're really glad they have a restaurant so we can go back for more!

They met with us at the Commissary Kitchen, came out for site visit at the home where our wedding was held and corresponded extensively via email to determine an outstanding menu that fell within our budget. They were professional, responsive and flexible throughout the entire process.
  
  My partner and I have both worked in the Seattle restaurant industry and are somewhat spoiled when it comes to good food. In the end, the food prepared by the Commissary team was exceptionally delicious and our guests still share compliments about our reception dinner several months later.

  We had our rehearsal dinner at Valley Commissary and everything was fantastic! Jesse, the chef & owner, created a personalized menu for us that fit our style and budget. The food was so delicious and the restaurant's atmosphere was the perfect location for our event. All of our guests were extremely impressed! Jesse's wife, Erica, made the planning process super easy as well. She was very responsive and flexible to our needs! We definitely recommend Valley Commissary!

  We used the Valley Commissary for our wedding rehearsal dinner and we could not have been more pleased! Their food was incredible - the quality, flavor and freshness rival what you can find in NYC and SF at a quarter of the price. Their space is casual, warm and inviting. They were professional and easy to work with. I would highly recommend using them as your caterer!

  Wow! We organized a high-end corporate event entertaining VIPs, and the team at Valley Commissary was great to work with. They worked with our budget, had creative ideas, managed service, and delivered above and beyond what we expected. I would absolutely use them again, and would recommend them to anyone.

  From planning to tasting and rehearsal dinner everything was fantastic. When Jesse and team arrived and started cooking the smells were amazing. Then the food came out and our guest were quite amazed at the service and quantity of food. Top notch, delicious and job well done!

  Jesse and the Valley Commissary team did an amazing job for our wedding!!!! We had a dream menu in mind for our special day but was having trouble finding a caterer that can make it happen. We found Jesse through a good friend. We met and discussed our menu. He gave us wonderful input for the food and made it even better than what we were expecting. Furthermore, if you want to stay in budget I would definitely recommend Valley Commissary. Nothing like a personalized menu on your special day that doesn't break the bank.

We had our first-anniversary dinner at VC and worked with Jesse to develop a menu for an intimate evening for us and six of our friends. We started off by bouncing some ideas back and forth regarding food and wine.   VC was an excellent catering company for our wedding. We had a really beautiful tasting at their location in McMinnville that was personalized by chef Jesse. He and Erica clearly work very hard to put together a professional, creative and beautiful catering service. The food at the wedding was fantastic and they worked hard to fit within our budget and dietary needs. They specialize in fresh vegetables, seasonal dishes, quality butchered meat and high quality food. Email timing can be a tiny bit slow in the summer when they're super busy, but its worth the personalized service. Definitely recommend VC!
