I found my perfect dress at Vanessa's Modern Bride. I recommend this store for a few reasons. First, Lisa is outstanding - she is knowledgeable, personable, easy to communicate with and offers superior customer service. Second, they have a stunning selection of dresses - designers I still haven't seen anywhere else (I shopped in Colorado, Ohio and Illinois). Third, the store is cute and picturesque - the store FEELS special. Fourth and most important - I found THE ONE. I loved basically every dress I tried on. Lisa listened to the feedback as I tried on each dress then recommended I try the dress that ended up being THE ONE and I could not believe it - it was everything I wanted and everything I didn't know I wanted. I have never felt more beautiful than the way I felt on my wedding day. Definitely include Vanessa's in your top dress shops to have your special moment with the dress of your dreams :) -

Amazing designer
Wow I went to these ladies just wanting something simple. In my mind I wouldn't look good in anything more the plain and simple. I walked i. To a beautiful show room with dresses that were beyond words beautiful. I didng want beads or anything I tried on my first dress which had some beads and it was nice but not the one. The next dress I only had it pulled up to my knees and I said this is it. The dress has beads from top to bottom. These ladies made me feel like I was the most beautiful person. I have low self esteem and in this dress I felt better then I had ever felt. I looked at myself I in my mind I said wow I look beautiful. These ladies have become more like friends then a dress maker. What they did for me that day was amazing. I never thought I could own a dress like this I will never own anything that is close to this dress and how I feel when I put it on. I love these ladies Vanessa and Rebecca. Thank you from the bottom of my heart you made my dreams come true in the dress dreams I didn't even know I wanted (the beads ) -

User2201959 Sent on 06/29/2015I found THEE dress here! I felt the most beautiful I think I ever have in my life in my wedding gown. I did not want to take it off at the end of the night or ever again for that matter haha! The dresses were beautifully displayed and the staff was more than helpful in helping my choose a dress that fit the specifications that I was looking for (A-line, lace, sweetheart neckline, etc.). I do not feel that you have to go to the city to get the dress of your dreams because mine was right here. :) -
User2061803 Sent on 03/09/2015Hi All! I hardly write reviews for anything, but I'd like to tell you my experience with my wedding gown because I'm so grateful. My sister had her wedding three years ago and her used another bridal boutique in the area and it was awful! Her dress didn't come in until the last minute and she had to juggle her schedule so much to get it fitted! And she didn't feel like she got the support she needed from that dress shop through the whole process. I was so lucky that I fell in love with a gown from Vanessa's and the rest was smooth sailing. No stress for my dress! I loved it when my special ordered gown came in, and by gosh it was the right size(the sample was a tad small) and it looked gorgeous! There was plenty of time to get my ensemble together and the ladies at the store were so helpful, never pressure selling but patient with every detail. :) My mom and my sister(and her sweet baby) had great time at each fitting. We were out to the door all smiles and that worth a great deal to me! My dress fit perfectly on my wedding day, we had no trouble with the bustle(unlike with my sister's dress) because our seamstress Sylvia was so nice, and she made sure we learned how to bustle my dress with its eleven ties! I had my dress organically cleaned and preserved with Vanessa's and it is now safe in my closet with fond memories. This whole experience has been wonderful! Thank You Vanessa's! -

Pamela Sent on 09/21/2010So happy I went with Vanessa's for my dress. Everything turned out perfectly! My dress was absolutely beautiful, and affordable! Yes, some dresses are quite expensive, but I was able to find something in my price range.
Vanessa, herself was so helpful, as well as her team. Especially since I live in Florida, and was having my wedding in Chicago, I was only able to have 2 fittings. Vanessa was very flexible with my schedule. I was very happy with their services, and I received so many compliments on my dress, even now, a month later. Thank you Vanessa! -

Marlee Sent on 06/01/2015After ordering a dress online from Dolly Couture, I needed minor alternations and also wanted the experience of trying on wedding dresses with my girlfriends. I chose Venessa's for the location and size of the salon. Having been to larger bridal salons and feeling ignored, I wanted a more personal experience. Venessa's was great! We had a blast at the appointment! The salesgirl was extremely helpful and patient and did not make me feel pressured to purchase anything from them, although I did end up purchasing my veil there in addition to having my dress fitted properly. Venessa's did a great job! My dress looked lovely and fit like a glove. Although I wasn't terribly impressed with their selection of dresses, they more than met my needs. -
User2308328 Sent on 09/09/2015I felt rushed when I went in for my first fitting. The alterations lady seemed to be in a hurry to leave and did not listen to my suggestions. She literally did not let me change anything about my dress! Other than that, I had a positive experience with the rest of the staff there. I loved my dress! -

Although my dress was gorgeous. Unfortunately have to give 1 star due to service/experience. My dress was ordered 1 size down from my original measurements and due to that when it came in it would just barely zip- I could not even walk or move. Lisa stated that it was no issue and the Alterations lady would easily be able to take some out. The whole alterations process was by far the most challenging, stressful and difficult part of the entire wedding process. I highly recommend if you do get your dress here TAKE YOUR DRESS TO GET ALTERED ELSEWHERE! The last thing a bride needs is more dress during this time. Due to COVID alterations had to be done at the lady’s house (Dorina). Dorina was a nightmare to work with. Extremely disrespectful from the start. As soon as I walked in I pulled out my phone to show her an inspiration picture of how I wanted to add cap sleeves to my dress and she sighed in disgust calling me a “millennial” and telling me to put my phone away. I told her the dress came in too tight and asked if she could let it out a bit so I can walk/sit in the dress and she basically said no she can’t that’s how the dress is is supposed to be form fitting. After leaving the first fitting I felt so discouraged and stressed I then went on to lose 10lbs in order to just try to fit into this dress. The second fitting I had to bring my mom along as back up and support and although I lost weight, the dress was still too tight to sit down in. After me and my mom spent 30 minutes arguing with Dorina she finally agreed to take it out a little bit.
The whole payment process was very sketchy as well. She quoted me one number at the first appointment then tried to say she quoted me a different number when it came to the second appointment. Everything had to be paid in cash, no receipts or paperwork. Extremely unprofessional I wouldn’t even call it a business.
My dress was beautiful and after losing 15lbs I was able to fit into it perfectly however this shouldn’t have to be the case when paying over $800 for alterations.
I would have had a better experience at a dry cleaners and it would have been less expensive with comparable quality.
Planning a wedding is stressful enough and the last thing you need is disrespectful, unprofessional vendors who won’t comply with your needs.
