Working with Alison was a dream! My partner and I went to her home for the tasting and had a wonderful experience. The cakes and icings were all delicious, it was hard to choose a winner! We ultimately chose a red velvet cake with house and buttercream icings. It was so good, we had none left over! She also designed the cake beautifully, just as we discussed, even adding in some of our flowers to tie it all together. I would certainly recommend Vanilla Bean Bake Shoppe for any and all of your cake needs! -

Allison is so sweet, patient, and flexible! She is also so creative and made the wedding cake of our dreams and the grooms cake was impeccable! I am very picky up frosting and I told her I wanted the Sylvia Weinstock frosting and she delivered!! I have had PTSD from previous weddings with very dry and awful cake and holy moly her cake was so moist and amazing!! In fact, we have had her cake in the refrigerator for 3 months and we are still eating it and it still is so moist and tastes amazing!! This should definitely attest to the fact of how amazing Allison’s cakes are!Vanilla Bean Bake Shoppe's reply:

Allison is wonderful and brought our vision to life! We wanted a top tier cutting cake with assorted cupcakes (more options and covid friendly for our 2021 wedding). The raspberry icing is the best! We did a cake tasting at her house (where she has converted her garage into a commercial grade kitchen). There are so many options for flavors. She even gives you a complimentary cake for your 1 year anniversary (which we got ours today!) -

Vanilla Bean Bake Shoppe impressed us with the quality and taste of the cakes, filling, and icing. We both gravitate towards fresh flavors over super sweet ingredients and this baker delivered! She was able to capture our design ideas and create a beautiful cake with very reasonable pricing! The surprise groom's cake (a 3D penguin!) was also beautiful and delicious, a great quirky addition that was secretly designed by the bakery and bride. We look forward to enjoying her other baked goods! Highly recommend this bakery, book with her asap as we see her business really growing in the future! -

User1045112 Sent on 12/14/2012This place is AMAZING! We have ordered cupcakes from them a bunch of times and when we got engaged we had to have them make our wedding cake! We gave them the ideas we had and information about our wedding and when we received the drafted picture we knew we had made the right decision! The owner made our cake and delivered it herself to our wedding venue two hours from her shop. She assembled it on site and when we saw it for the first time we were stunned! She made gumpaste snowflakes in all different shapes and sizes and ran them up the cake and then she lit them from behind with mini LED lights! We are still getting compliments on the wedding cake and it has been over a month since our wedding! The cake tasted as great as it looked and we couldnt have been happier! The owner also made a groomscake that was a replica of my husbands fire helmet and with only a weeks notice she had it made and delivered to my MIL for transport to the rehersal dinner! My husband loved it and i couldnt beleive how much it looked like a real helmet instead of a cake! We cant wait to use her services again in the future and we have already referred her to friends and family!!! -
User1484568 Sent on 12/27/2013Allison at Vanilla Bean Bake Shoppe was amazing! I wanted pies rather than a cake, and not only did Allison not flinch at that idea, she suggested individual pies!
My grandmother always made a rhubarb custard pie, and I had my heart set on that unusual flavors being offered at my reception. Allison did research and found a recipe that tasted so much like my grandmother's.
She delivered all the pies to our venue and the whole set up was just beautiful and delicious. Allison communicates better by phone than email, in my experience. -
User2433302 Sent on 11/18/2015We absolutely loved our cake from Allison Phelps! She made a chai tea, chocolate mousse filled cake with a honey buttercream frosting for our wedding day! It was so delicious and different.
