  What makes Victoria stand out is her willingness to go above and beyond the normal wedding photographer script to capture the most important moments. Our wedding day was much more enjoyable because Victoria was efficient and made everyone feel at ease. The photos turned out beautifully and truly capture each moment with perfection. I already had recommended Victoria as a wedding photographer before using her for my own wedding, and I certainly would recommend her again.

  We worked with Victoria to take pre-wedding portraits as well as day-of pictures at our urban DC wedding. I LOVE the photos, especially the fresh, slightly casual, vibe they impart. Victoria was very organized and responsive to our concerns and requests. She facilitated communication of what we wanted and other important details about the day to ensure the final deliverable had every shot we wanted. She went above and beyond to make us comfortable in front of the camera. Victoria is thoughtful, serious, and dedicated photographer and it shows in her craft.

  Victoria was the photographer for our wedding in Madison, WI. We live in DC and it was stressful planning a wedding from far away, so I really appreciated how easy it was to work with Victoria. For example, she noticed how excited everyone was about my cousin (he lives very far away and rarely gets to visit) and she made sure to get a few amazing pictures of him and our family.

  We just got home from our wedding in Puerto Rico which we asked Victoria to travel to. It was a great decisions! Victoria was so easy to work with and so willing to go with the flow. We had a big wedding with lots of gregarious family and friends and she took it all in stride, was direct when she needed to be, and was able to manage the moving dynamics present. I can't tell you how many comments we got from family and friends who just loved her and thought she was everywhere at the right moment. We couldn't agree more! She was so fun and easy to work with - was open to our ideas but provided specific guidance when we needed it (often).
  
  Victoria also shot our engagement photos two months prior and they were really remarkable. We had a great time during the shoot and she created incredible photos that really captured my husband and I at our essence. We also had so many positive responses from friends and family which is also a great sign!
  
  I would highly recommend Victoria - her prices were very reasonable and she was willing to talk through all packages, services, and give us something we were comfortable with. I can't wait to have another reason to work with her again!

  We hired Victoria Ruan Photography for our Nov. 1st wedding in Washington, DC at the Josephine Butler Parks Center. From the very first contact, Victoria was engaged, friendly, accessible, and dedicated to making our experience exceptional.
  
  We initially selected her based on the recommendation of two other couples we know who used her for their weddings, and once we saw their pictures, we were very happy with our choice. Her standard contract is for 8 hours, but as we had no ceremony at our reception, she was willing to use one hour the day before to take pictures at our courthouse ceremony. This flexibility was very important to us and made a big difference to us.
  
  During and after our reception, we heard from family and guests who made a point of mentioning Victoria's engagement with the crowd and the way she integrated her work into the flow of the event.
  
  We also want to make a point of mentioning her patience and professionalism in wrangling two large families (one of which didn't speak english) for portraits before the reception. It meant a lot to us to have those pictures taken, and it certainly wasn't easy, but she handled everything perfectly.
  
  As our wedding was only three weeks ago, we have not yet received the pictures from our event, but we have no doubt that they will be amazing.
  
  We cannot recommend Victoria highly enough. Hire her and you won't be disappointed!

  We just got back the photos from our October wedding and we could not be more pleased. Victoria is truly talented and did a wonderful job capturing our day.
  Victoria is also a pleasure to work with. For our engagement photos--We are not very comfortable in front of the camera and she immediately put us at ease---not overly posing us but allowing us to be our natural selves in front of the camera, with a bit of direction, resulting in beautiful photos that don't look staged but rather look like us just having a great time with one another.
  At our wedding she was able to wrangle our large families for family photos, and captured great photos including the dance party. She asked us about what photos we wanted to be sure to get prior to the wedding, and was able to capture everything we wanted. She was on time (actually early!), professional, and flexible with whatever the day brought. Highly recommend her to anyone!!

I never thought I would say this as someone who is very uncomfortable in front of a camera, but Victoria actually made us feel calm and relaxed during our photos (both wedding and engagement). She kept us laughing and always had helpful suggestions for poses and lighting angles. Our wedding photos were taken outdoors and Victoria never hesitated to walk through tall grasses full of crickets or stand on a ladder to get a good shot. Our guests also told us how impressed they were with her ability to take so many photos in an unobtrusive way. We highly recommend Victoria for your wedding or other event!

  Victoria was the photographer for our daughter's wedding this past December. We couldn't be happier with the results! the photographs are beautiful. She is not only a true professional and an excellent photographer, but a pleasant fun person who exudes positive energy and made everyone feel comfortable. We are impressed with her flexibility and responsiveness, her friendly and open demeanor, and her ability to put people at ease in front of the camera. She spent time before the wedding to get to know the bride and groom that we all appreciated. She was prompt, worked efficiently, had great ideas which have turned into beautiful pictures. Her eye for detail shows artistic flair and all the candid photos added so much to my daughter's wedding photos. I'd highly recommend Victoria for any photography work. Victoria is a true artist. During the engagement shoot and the wedding, Victoria was easy to work with, expert and professional. There was constant communication, and she knew exactly what we wanted and more. For the engagement shoot, she knew more than we could explain about composition, lighting, and capturing the best angles. Best of all, the engagement photos didn't come out cheezy or corny. We were relaxed, and were able to be ourselves, including our silly selves! During the wedding itself, she was totally inconspicuous and captured great shots of the whole event. The joy and love certainly showed in the photos. We 100% recommend her services.

  Victoria was very easy to work with. She had many ideas and made my husband and I feel extremely comfortable even though we normally don't like to be photographed. Victoria was very polite with our guests and overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Her photography seems to get to the core sensation of each event, evoking the multitude of emotions you would expect from an experience such as a wedding or engagement party - happy tears, serious moments, jubilation, elation, ferocious dancing and eating, family and friends reuniting, sweet moments like the bride and her grandma getting down on the dance floor.   Victoria was fantastic! I would highly recommend her. Her train to our destination wedding was cancelled and she took extraordinary steps to get there, and took great photos on little sleep.

  Victoria did an amazing job with our wedding. She was there from the very beginning until the very end and gave us a great deal. The pictures are beautiful, she is very creative and has a great eye for good shots. I highly recommend if you're looking for a unique style. We went on to use her for our newborn pictures, she did a phenomenal job with those shots as well.

  We loved having Victoria photograph our wedding. She was incredibly easy to work with and very good at giving direction in a polite and friendly way to people who aren't super comfortable with having their photograph taken. Victoria has a real eye for setting up beautiful photographs, as well. She was also very flexible with scheduling and did a great job of reminding us to take all the group photographs we had wanted to take but got distracted from taking when the wedding was in full swing.

  Me and my husband are so thankful we found Victoria and that she photographed our wedding. Her photos are absolutely stunning; she captures soft light in her photographs that make everything that much more romantic. I have so many beautiful pictures of our day and am beyond pleased with her work. Our guests have also mentioned how beautiful her pictures are and also how great she was at the wedding making sure to photograph all of our guests.   Me and my husband are so thankful we found Victoria and that she photographed our wedding. Her photos are absolutely stunning; she captures soft light in her photographs that make everything that much more romantic. I have so many beautiful pictures of our day and am beyond pleased with her work.
