I wa sable to have a unique wedding here! Cullen and the other staff were super sweet and worked around my crazy schedule. Everything went perfectly! The food was way better than my expectations, the area was set up exactly as we discussed, and the hands on help I received was a huge help on my big day.

My husband and I got married at the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk, Virginia in September and have only wonderful things to say about it! From the moment we decided upon the zoo as our venue, family and friends told us what a unique and fun idea it was, and we were not disappointed.

The Virginia Zoo is a tightly run ship, and they were professional and prepared when we first came to them, giving us a wedding packet with all kinds of great information, such as venue prices and preferred vendors. Throughout the whole process, they were helpful and attentive, and when my day of coordinator, Crystal from the Cherry Blossom Planning Factory, took over, they seamlessly brought her up to speed.

We got married in the event pavilion and had about 125 people, and it was perfect. Guests were able to eat, dance, and hang out if they wanted to, but they were also free to roam around the zoo all day (great for kids!!) and nearly everyone took advantage!!

We had a great time and now have a year-long zoo membership – what a great way to remember our wonderful experience getting married at the zoo!

The Event Staff at the Virginia Zoo is top notch, and will do absolutely anything in their power to ensure your day with them is absolutely perfect. Everyone on Staff seemed personally invested in making our day amazing - and they succeeded! Our wedding day happened to be affected by weather -- downpours, thunder, lightning, tornado warnings, and flash flooding -- but the flexibility of the Zoo Staff was phenomenal. They quickly switched our venue site, assisted our vendors with setting up the new area, grabbed umbrellas and golf carts to help usher our guests, and even helped us find spots to get great photos despite the weather. I can't say enough about Wayne, Jenn, Morgan, and the rest of the Zoo team. If you're looking for a unique venue that is tons of fun and easy to work with, contact them right now! We also used their catering service, and our friends and family are still raving about the food! They're awesome across the board!

My husband and I wanted a unique wedding venue that everyone would remember. When we first came across the idea at a bridal show we really weren't sure what to expect. We were completely sold by the first visit to see the zoo. There were so many options for the ceremony and reception. Josh and Charlotte were absolutely amazing to work with from the first day to the last! They stayed in great contact with us through the whole planning process. Anything we needed help with they were there for us to help any way they could. The day of the wedding the venue spaces were absolutely breath taking! Everything was perfect! All our guests loved it as well! The zoo and their staff surpassed any expectations that we had for our wedding day.

The Virginia Zoo went above and beyond in providing services for our wedding and reception. They provided the location for both and they also have a wonderful catering service on site. The Wedding coordinator/specialist that helps you through the whole process is very informative and has wedding experience to help you with all of those tough decisions. Everything the day of went so smooth because of their ability to plan ahead of time. They were very professional in all of their emails and also very prompt with their replys.
