Thank you for posting some of your pictures and for the kind words of recommendation. It was an extremely elegant evening wedding and I’m glad to hear that the families enjoyed West River House as much as your daughter.

Silvia Mar’s review of West River House is not only inconsistent with other people’s experiences who have rented the venue, but it is also inconsistent with the experiences of her guests who attended her event. She was well aware of the fact that a new dam was under construction prior to her event and also that there was little chance of any water rising in front of the venue following testing of the gates in the first week of June as scheduled by the river authority. Only someone that is dilutional would expect a lake to fill in a week after a summer of no rain. Nonetheless, there was a gorgeous meadow teaming with deer below the venue which most brides found compelling this summer and the pictures prove it.

Her second complaint was that there was no parking. We have a designated parking area along Mary Boulevard where we can park 100 cars with no driveways or houses for ½ a mile. She opted to not use any security or valet services to direct guests to the designated parking area. She acknowledged these requirements, she hired an outside caterer and she hired an outside wedding planner. For her event, we simply supplied tables and chairs and had them all in place upon her arrival. If Silvia didn’t like the food or service during her ceremony, slamming the venue is not constructive nor helpful to couples trying to find a venue.
The lake took over a month to fill so all future weddings will have full views of the lake. In addition, a new lower patio with a pier extending over the lake will be completed in December.
