    Beautiful Venue

Westminster Hall was the perfect place for us! The esthetic was exactly what we were going for! From the catacomb tours to the ceiling to floor organ, it was breathtaking!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception for our 11/11/17 wedding at Westminster Hall and it was more perfect than I ever could have imagined. We had a Harry Potter themed wedding and the space seriously felt like Hogwarts. The staff at Westminster Hall were always a pleasure to work with and the price of the venue was so reasonable. We had about 100 guests and the size of the space worked out perfectly. The organ inside is so beautiful and outside (especially the graveyard!) was gorgeous for pictures. One of the greatest parts of the night was that they provided tour guides and allowed our guests to do tours of the catacombs during the cocktail hour - everyone loved it! If you're looking for a venue with a little Baltimore history and an amazing atmosphere, you should definitely check out Westminster Hall!

We held our wedding ceremony at Westminster Hall. It seems like it is a well-kept secret - we were SO lucky that it was available on our date when we booked it about 6 months prior. It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL space where you can create whatever kind of ceremony you want, since there is freedom from any religious rules etc. We had both a Catholic priest and a humanist minister officiating our wedding and Westminster Hall was the perfect space for us.

Westminster Hall was the perfect setting for our wedding. I really wanted to get married in a church and this place was gorgeous. My husband and I stumbled across this place one afternoon after visiting Edgar Allen Poe's gravesite. We saw that they were taking tables inside the church and we peeked around to see the interior. It was breath taking. The staff was so wonderful to work with and very accommodating. There is a list of rules to follow when you rent this place, but the staff of Westminster Hall were very eager and helpful in finding solutions for your needs and still keep the integrity of this historic building. We opted for the organist to play for our ceremony. It was an additional expense but totally worth it. The music bellowing from those pipes gave me chills as I walked down the aisle. We also opted for the tour guide to show our guests the grounds and the catacombs during our cocktail hour. They loved it! They thought it was really great and they were so excited to hear about the history of the permanent members who reside there. Mary Jo and her staff were so wonderful, professional and genuinely happy for us. Would I get married there again? In a heartbeat!

Greta place to have an event and great looking location in downtown Baltimore. Couldn't ask for a better place to have both a ceremony and reception.

We used this hall for our wedding ceremony. Since we only used it for a few hours they were able to accommodate us on a short notice. They were very easy to work with and the venue was beautiful. If you can get the venue use it.

My husband and I had a vintage glam/Halloween wedding on Oct 25th 2014. Westminster Hall in the heart of downtown Baltimore where Poe is buried in a surrounding graveyard and where you can have catacomb tours for your guests was the perfect choice! We actually only looked at Westminster Hall - there was no need to look anywhere else. The inside of the hall is gorgeous and lends itself to being glammed up and partied in. They have a great organ that sounds so awesome when played for the ceremony.

My two problems which probably just needed more preparation on my end is that the acoustics in the hall echoed so the music the DJ was playing didn't always sound the best - I think you need to have a test run to figure out how to solve this problem. The other issue is that during my wedding random tourists were coming into the cemetery where we were having the cocktail hour and doing pics. Westminster Hall is a popular tourist spot in Baltimore and so I think I should have addressed with the Hall that I wanted someone to keep tourists from coming in and out - that made me uncomfortable. If they wanted they could have just joined the party and gotten some food and no one may have noticed!

The hunt for a wedding venue was over the second I set foot in Westminster Hall. The floor to ceiling stained glass, massive pipe organ as the focus of the room and unique architecture sealed the deal for me. It was only after I fell in love with the look of the venue that I found out all the other perks: great air conditioning for the humid June 1 date we had set, fabulous staff that were responsive and wonderful to work with and even tours of the catacombs during cocktail hour as an option (this was a HUGE hit with our guests). Mary Jo took care of any questions I had so promptly and was so sweet and there was a building manager there the entire day of to help with everything we needed. We are so pleased we found Westminster Hall. It was a beautiful day and was in no small part due to our venue.

We were looking for a reception venue in the city that could hold up to 200 people and that wasn't a typical hotel ballroom. So many places are too small, and other venues that are large enough are really expensive. Westminster Hall was perfect! Plenty of space (we ended up with only 150, but it was nice not to worry about it), a reasonable price (make sure you do the math on all of the extra little fees. I think they could simplify their pricing structure a little), handicapped-accessible, a city location close but not too close to the inner harbor, and a gorgeous and unique space! Our guests loved wandering the cemetary and taking the catacombs tour during cocktail hour. And they loved the beautiful space!

Mary Jo and the entire staff were great to work with. We were able to drop things off the day before. We were able to hire a police officer through them to patrol the area in the evening. Also, they have 200 dark gray molded-plastic conference chairs that you can rent for $1 each! They're very comfortable and sooo much more affordable than other rental chairs.

Westminster Hall was the most amazing venue I could imagine! They were flexible in letting us look around the site whenever we needed to and gave us the whole day to get ready. They were very responsive and helpful any time we needed to talk to them about anything. The tours were fantastic, and the whole place was absolutely stunning. I couldn't have asked for a better venue! It was perfect for our non-traditional vow renewal :) Very very worth it!

This is a great value and and fantastic venue for both the ceremony and the reception. The pipe organ, stained glass windows and lovely architecture provide a wonderful ambiance for the ceremony. Then the hall transforms easily into a super party room! The fact that the dining tables sit on a raised platform that wraps around the dance floor is terrific. Everyone is close to the action but not so close that it interfers with the dancing. And our guests enjoyed the tours of the historical catacombs and E.A. Poe monument during cocktails!
The management was delightful to work with. The administrative staff was readily available by phone and email and very cooperative and flexible. The building managers were very nice and very helpful. On the day of the wedding, Bruce was right there for anything we needed and totally on top of whatever we hadn't thought of.
It was a wonderful experience and we would certainly return for future events.

This venue is a beautiful place to hold a wedding. We had our ceremony and reception here - which was super convenient. We worked with Rebekah Owens who was wonderful. Very quick to respond to our e-mails, and flexible in our needs. We used the pipe organ for the ceremony - which was fantastic. Great great venue.

Westminster Hall is an incredible venue at an extremely reasonable rate. The staff, especially Rebekkah, is absolutely amazing to work with and is very accommodating. Our guests enjoyed the uniqueness of the venue and took full advantage of the historical site, including a tour of the catacombs that were arranged during the cocktail hour. I also loved the fact that Westminster Hall will only book one event a day- that gives plenty of time for vendors to set up!

I love all things goth and dark. Halloween is my favorite holiday. I wanted a non-traditional ceremony/reception for my wedding and Westminster Hall was the best choice. I had a beautiful wedding in a graveyard setting (sort of) which is exactly what I wanted. It was perfect for me and my black/goth theme.

Bruce was our staff person for the rehearsal and the wedding. He went above and beyond his duties for our wedding. He helped unload our decorations, alcohol, etc. the night of the rehearsal. He was also very patient when we went over the one hour time limit by 20 minutes. The night of the wedding, Bruce helped with clean up and loading. He was right there to direct the hearse (my transportation) to a secured parking spot. Bruce did an outstanding job.

I wouldn't call them complaints, but here are the reasons why I gave Westminster Hall a 4.8/5.0: I wanted my wedding date to be October 30 (All Hallow's Eve) but the Edgar Allen Poe Society books it every year for their annual Halloween bash. Not really anyone's fault, and I most definitely understand the significance. My other problem is the rental time limit. I don't understand why there is a 5 hour time limit. My wedding started at 7pm, and I would've paid for an additional 1-2 hours to make it last longer.

Overall, I am extremely happy with this venue. My guests loved it. "Unique" was the most popular word to describe my wedding, just what I was going for. They said it was "me" all the way. It was beautiful (especially at night). Although the rental fee turned out to be more than we wanted to spend on the venue, it was well worth it. It kind of evens things out, though. Having the ceremony at the hall cut the costs of having it at a church.

If you're having a Halloween/Goth wedding, Westminster Hall is the perfect place! Don't get me wrong, it's also perfect for other events, as well. The Johnson pipe organ still plays beautifully. The stained-glass windows and lighting surrounding the venue make a romantic setting.

My nephew (3 yrs. old) was the ring bearer. He refused to walk down the aisle and cried pretty much the whole time because he said the "flying man" was bothering him. He also kept saying he didn't like "the downstairs" (no one told my nephew about the catacombs underneath the building and he was never taken down there). So, if you believe in ghosts, this may not be the best place for children. It spooked quite a few people out that night. My family is still talking about the ghosts of Westminster Hall. I loved it!
