  Our wedding reception at Williamsburg Hellenic Center was basically perfect. The Director of the Center, Mrs. Evelyn Jones, was amazing to work with. Her expertise at planning the wedding and offering advise, and the personal attention she gave us made our day so memorable! The entire reception hall and banquet room is beautiful and the property is adjacent to St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, one of the most beautiful churches we have ever seen. The food was excellent, and having the catering provided onsite by the Center was one less thing to worry about. It was a pleasure to work with Evelyn and I would strong recommend visiting the property for your wedding!

  First, the venue is absolutely stunning! Most important the staff and sales manager are extremely helpful, understanding, and patient. My husband and I were extremely thrilled with our wedding day. Our guests raved about the beautiful presentation and taste of the dinners served. We are very thankful to have had the opportunity to have one of our most important days at this venue.

  The Williamsburg Hellenic Center is a BEAUTIFUL venue! The staff there is very nice and professional. Tony and Evelyn were excellent. They ensured that my wedding was going to a memorable event and they went above and beyond to make everything perfect. The food was good as well.

  Ms Evelyn is very nice and I'm sure she tries her best. Initially when I found the Hellenic Center I was blown away by it's beauty. I was so happy that the place seemed perfect. However- the communication was really bad. I was handled a pamphlet with a menu and no prices. It's very hard to make menu decisions without pricing. Getting the information pulled together was like building a straw house one question after the other which made me feel as if I were constantly bugging Evelyn. I requested to meet the chef and to taste a few things from the menu and they were too busy to allow that to happen and now I know why.
  The wedding reception was completely thrown off by the dinner. The salads were served upon opening dinner was served AN HOUR later!!!!!!!!!!! The way the time line was after dinner was cake cutting, I had to cut my cake before dinner so the photographer could get pictures because the way the timeline read was she could have gotten pictures of the cake cutting garter belt and belly dancer had we not been behind schedule with the dinner. The dinner was not only late, it was cold and disappointing to everyone. The guest never saw the hor derves that were paid for and supposed to be passed. My entire wedding was thrown off because of the kitchen staff. The bartenders and servers were rude and seemed to be unhappy doing their job.
  We were told there would be top shelf alcohol there was none even available.
  I had a belly dancer and Asked to have the lights dimmed early after dinner and was told the lights couldn't go any lower. So the reception dance floor was bright until the end of the night when the lights some how dimmed?? disappointing to say the least.

  Although the facility is very beautiful, the organizational skills and staffing for a wedding leaves little to be desired. As mentioned in other reviews, the bar is highly suspect. There is no computer program or token system to tally drinks served. A lot of reasonable requests such as lighting, serving guests water, ice tea or coffee, will not be honored. Topics discussed will be changed, done wrong or not done at all. Although that may be the standard for this venue, it shouldn't be acceptable. I caution those who sign a contract with this facility. You may think you have dotted your i's and crossed your t's but beware, you may be unpleasantly surprised.

  I would NOT recommend the venue. I recently had my daughter’s wedding reception at the Williamsburg Hellenic Center (July 2013). The food was good, but their bar service was EXTREMELY questionable. During the planning process (7 months) I had to work with 3 different sales directors. The last director/wedding coordinator, Evelyn Jones was all talk. Our request for beer and wine ONLY at the bar was ignored. They served Greek beer (horrible), wine and mixed drinks. They would not remove the charges for the mixed drinks. If you do use this venue, my suggestion would be to have someone you trust monitor the bar during the entire event.
