  Dreamy/Magical Engagement Photos

  My Fiancé and I did our engagement photos with Yana, and they turned out amazing. Yana was so easy to work with and was thoughtful. She made us feel very comfortable, and really helped capture our love! My Fiancé and I joke about being awkward, but Yana made us look fantastic! The pictures are natural and beautiful, and were exactly what I was looking for in our engagement photos. She did a really great job of giving us pointers and advice, but also let us be ourselves. Thank you so much Yana!

  Our best decision ever!

  We chose our wedding venue because of Yana's stunning photos, and we couldn't be happier with our decision! Yana traveled all the way to California to capture our special day and did an incredible job. Despite the windy conditions, she perfectly captured the story and essence of our wedding. Each photo is filled with personality, and the unique traits of our family and friends shine through beautifully.
  
  We really loved working with Yana. Having never worked with a photographer before and not considering ourselves super photogenic, we were amazed at how natural the experience felt. Yana gave us small, helpful cues, but overall, everything felt effortlessly natural. She blended in seamlessly, making the whole process enjoyable and stress-free.

  Creative, amazing planner, easy to work with, flexible

  Yana was everything and more when it came to our wedding. Without her planning, especially when we dealt with unexpected weather I am not sure what we would have done but we are SO lucky to have booked with her. Her work is so amazing and I was absolutely blown away by her. We consider ourselves lucky to have found her!

  Amazing pictures and treasured memories :)

  10/10 Yana is the nicest photographer you will ever meet, and her talent is unmatched. I found her through looking at photos of our newly booked venue, and right away wanted to know who took a particular picture. I followed her on instagram, and was blown away with all the couple and elopement photos she's taken.
  My fiance and I had our engagement photos done at Manistee Lake and took beach photos during the sunrise. We don't consider ourselves particularly photogenic, but holy moly these pictures were amazing! We felt adventurous and Yana guided us through poses and made us feel very natural.
  Our wedding was a dream, everything felt so flawless and easy and once we received our sneak peaks, I was in awe. Every aspect of the day was captured and I was brought to tears when thinking back on the day. The candids were wholesome to see, and I am going to treasure all of the family portraits. The details, lighting, posing, editing, etc. were all top notch. Her creativity definitely shows and we had so much fun during our wedding, it's so hard to choose favorites. Highly highly recommend Yana for your engagement photos, elopement, or wedding :)

  Above and beyond

  I can think of so many reasons to book Yana for your wedding photography. One, she travels ANYWHERE with you and your partner to do a unique adventure engagement shoot. We asked her to travel to a remote part of eastern KY to one of our favorite hiking spots, and she was totally game and the photos were spectacular. Two, she is great at making couples feel comfortable during the shoot - she has a very warm, relaxed energy and has great ideas for poses and shots. Three, she's got a great eye and she's always on trend. Four, she's a real professional - she works quickly and efficiently to take breathtaking shots so that you get to spend the maximum amount of time with your wedding guests. She can easily adapt her plan to work with the lighting conditions and surroundings, whatever they may end up being. Five, and finally, take a look at her work! It speaks for itself. My now-husband and I had such a great experience with Yana. She was thoroughly invested in us and our story, and she went above and beyond to capture our day! We heartily recommend her to other couples.

  Wonderful intimate wedding photographer!

  We worked with Yana for our intimate (50 person) wedding at Muir Beach in CA. Yana was wonderful from the first time we met with her virtually to discuss our needs and vision, through the day of photos, and ultimately working closely together to build our wedding album. I would say my favorite part about working with Yana was her calming presence on the day of our wedding. She put us at ease taking photos (we are not big on having our photos taken) and everyone said they never even noticed we had a photographer throughout the day/night! The photos were so beautiful that we ended up ordering an album with as many that the book would fit! I would highly recommend working with Yana for your event :)

  Truly the Best!

  TL:DR: Yana is an incredible photographer, and if you decide to work with her, you’ll be left extremely happy you made the decision!
  
  Long version: We were excited to get our engagement photos done, but have never done professional photos before, and had to start from scratch. We didn’t know what the best location to be, what to wear, or anything. Working with Yana was the answer to all of those questions! She suggested we do it at the Silver Lake Dunes on Lake Michigan, and the photoshoot that ensued was nothing short of a complete delight. She was very professional and gave us plenty of directions, while also keeping it fun and lighthearted. It’s a tough task to make two people unfamiliar with posing or photography look and feel comfortable, but she did both seamlessly. We spent two fun hours doing a series of different positions, angles, activities, etc, and to say that the photos turned out wonderfully would be a huge understatement! We had high expectations since we knew that she was talented from her posts on Instagram, but she still managed to blow us away! We hoped to have the photos ready to send Save the Dates in a month, but she had nearly all of them processed in two days! Delivering that kind of all around great, considerate service, while still making it all an enjoyable experience is what sets Yana apart. So to sum it all up, like we said earlier, if you want a photographer who will capture all the love and emotions of your special moments and provide a wonderful experience, you couldn’t ask for a better person than Yana!

  Amazing photographer

  Yana was absolutely great! We chose to go with Yana for our September 2021 wedding and have already had our engagement photo session with her. She is so easy to work with and incredibly talented at capturing genuine interactions. She makes you feel comfortable the entire time which reflected in the photos and they really came out beautifully. She suggested our location and we couldn't have loved it more. Would recommend her to anyone!! Cannot wait for her to capture our Wedding next year.

  Could book a million times over if I could!

  I can not say enough good things about Yana. She is absolutely wonderful. She had great communication from the moment we booked her until we got our photos! She made my husband and I feel so incredibly comfortable with her and made our whole wedding day go extremely smoothly and without a hitch. I would book her a million times over if I could!

  A thesaurus section of the word wonderful!

  I will attempt to relay my wonderful experience with Yana in my limited vocabulary; because I agonized over a week, trying to look for the more-than-perfect words and failed miserably. I contacted Yana for a winter couple session; and boy, did she went above and beyond! Yana was super flexible in scheduling, due to the nature of our photoshoot had to be when there is enough snow, or not too much that the driving condition is bad. During the shoot, Yana made sure we stayed in our comfort zone, but all the while delivered AMAZING, state-of-the-art candid pictures. Yana was the most genuine person I've ever met, great communication from the start. I think we've found our photographer for every milestones and occasions in our life. I cannot recommend Yana Benjamin Photography highly enough!

  Amazinggg work, good energy, just great vibes all around.

  I don't know where to even start. Yana is truly a beautiful being. I knew when I was looking through her website that she was the photographer for us. Not only did she deliver amazing wedding photos but more importantly she made me feel at ease. One less thing to worry about. Weddings can be so stressful! I tend to be very sensitive to energy and sometimes worry about things incessantly so of course our wedding wasn't an exception. haha. But her responsiveness and attention to detail really put me at ease. I felt she was as invested as we were in our wedding. It was never weird or awkward to have her around. She blended right in with our guests. I can't express how happy we are that we picked Yana as our wedding photographer. She was everything I could've dreamed for and more. Her vision really aligned with everything we wanted. She went above and beyond -- always had great suggestions. She knew our theme was "Romantic Boho" and even offered to bring her own peacock chair as a prop. Which was so thoughtful and outside the box. I felt that we were always on the same page and that really resonated with me. Its so important for me to feel a connection and thats what I felt when working with her. I highly recommend Yana for your wedding, elopement, etc.

  Yana is an Amazing Elopement Photographer!

  In every way Yana exceeded our expectations. We were lucky enough to secure her services with relatively short notice. We knew nothing about adventure elopement, other than we wanted our day to be unique, special and beautiful, and that it would just be the two of us. Our plan was loose, with only a general idea of where we wanted to hold the ceremony. We definitely needed some guidance.
  
  Without prompting, Yana provided half a dozen adventurous location options (and weather contingencies), including details such as hotel recommendations, how to secure flowers and makeup, and food options in each location. Yana then actively helped us narrow down our options and ultimately choose the ideal wedding spot.
  
  The day of the ceremony, Yana was punctual, considerate and thoughtful. Her demeanor was laid back and she was dedicated to making sure we were getting the most romantic and creative images. We very much enjoyed Yana's company. It was a fun and professional day.
  
  Finally, both the turnaround time and photo quality were orders of magnitude more excellent than we could have imagined. Colorful, expressive and bold, the photographs captured the moment while leaping from the page. Truly exceptional. We have been begging to show them to everyone we see.
  
  We absolutely recommend Yana to any couple considering an elopement. Amazing service, quality and experience.

We knew nothing about adventure elopement, other than we wanted our day to be unique, special and beautiful, and that it would just be the two of us. Our plan was loose, with only a general idea of where we wanted to hold the ceremony. We definitely needed some guidance.
  
  Without prompting, Yana provided half a dozen adventurous location options (and weather contingencies), including details such as hotel recommendations, how to secure flowers and makeup, and food options in each location. Yana then actively helped us narrow down our options and ultimately choose the ideal wedding spot.
  
  The day of the ceremony, Yana was punctual, considerate and thoughtful. Her demeanor was laid back and she was dedicated to making sure we were getting the most romantic and creative images. We very much enjoyed Yana's company. It was a fun and professional day.
  
  Finally, both the turnaround time and photo quality were orders of magnitude more excellent than we could have imagined. Colorful, expressive and bold, the photographs captured the moment while leaping from the page. Truly exceptional. We have been begging to show them to everyone we see.
  
  We absolutely recommend Yana to any couple considering an elopement. Amazing service, quality and experience.

  Yana is wonderful

  We are so, so happy we got to work with Yana to capture our wedding photos . My husband and I eloped due to Covid and were unable to get professional photos taken at the time of our wedding, and Yana was able to re-create some absolutely beautiful and whimsical photos for us. I also personally hate being photographed and had a ton of anxiety about the experience, but Yana is such a joy to work with and put me immediately at ease. She was also such a champ about rescheduling around our chaotic work schedules, weather and location changes. She took so many great photos and was incredibly quick in getting our edited images to us and they are great quality. If we ever needed photos again I would reach out again in a heart beat and definitely recommend her work, she is a delight.

  Stumbling upon Yana's website was a serendipitous moment. There weren't many reviews about Yana's work on social media or wedding sites, but the photos I did find were simply gorgeous and rivaled those of any coveted blog or photographer with numerous The Knot accolades (read: hidden gem alert!!) Despite the biting cold during our engagement session (typical 30 degF April day in Michigan), we had a lot of fun. Yana provided us with just enough professional direction so that we felt assured, but then set stepped back to allow for candid moments to unfurl (e.g. us having coffee, slurping ramen). She also wouldn't hesitate to help me fix my scarf or tame a loose strand of hair. Her attention to detail was really commendable. The shoot turned out so well that we decided to incorporate the photos into our wedding guest book. The day of the wedding, Yana truly shined. I really appreciated how Yana was okay with playing some parts by ear to accommodate potential weather contingencies and our large wedding party of 14 people. When it came time to shoot the bridal party and family portraits outside, it was outrageously humid. But like a true professional, Yana never once let on any sense of impatience or discomfort. TLDR: Yana's work truly speaks for itself. She is by no means just wedding vendor, but first and foremost a skilled photographer who is truly disciplined and passionate. She harks from a photojournalistic background, and has a knack for capturing candid moments. If you're camera shy, don't worry. If you're blessed with high cheekbones and have mastered the art of smizing, that's great too. Either way, Yana will manage to capture the best of you. One of the most common compliments I received after sharing pictures with friends and family was "This is beautiful. And wow, I didn't even notice she was there taking that shot!". So, talented AND stealthy. I highly encourage you to look up more of her work, and to consider having her document your special day!

  Yana's photography is absolutely incredible! We used her for our engagement photos over the summer, and our Cobblestone Farm wedding in the fall. We adored the engagement photos but somehow the wedding photos were even better. I seriously cannot stop looking at them...they're amazing. Of all of our wedding services/vendors, I would recommend Yana the most. The price was reasonable, she was very professional and she's just a damn good photographer! :) What's more, she got us our wedding photos after just 1 month. What?! I know people who waited 10 months to get their photos back. The whole experience was awesome, and now we have absolutely stunning photos of our wedding! You won't regret booking her!
