York Harbor Inn Reviews

We had a small intimate wedding with 16 guests at the York Harbor Inn this October. Our wedding coordinator, Emily, was wonderfully responsive and helped us tailor our perfect day. We were able to spread out and enjoy the bridal suite in the Harbor Cliff suite with all needs being met. All staff were helpful and welcoming, and the service during dinner was attentive and friendly. Our guests were wowed by the elegant dining room and warmth of dinner together in the beautiful Peacock room. The food was especially delicious and enjoyed by all! It was a great overall experience and we would highly recommend this venue for a similar celebration.

My wife and I were married at the York Harbor Inn in August 2023 and it was a great experience start to finish. Our ceremony was at the Hartley Mason Reserve across the street which was very reasonably priced (through the York Harbor Inn) with breathtaking views of the coast. Our cocktail hour was in the Main Dining Room, reception in the Yorkshire Ballroom, and after party in the Ship Cellar Pub, with a total guest count of ~120.

Emily was amazing to work with and made the process really easy, being available to us throughout the year leading up to the wedding, including answering all our random emails and phone calls throughout that time. Leading up to the wedding, she helped make it very clear which decisions we needed to make and was organized with all the details, including showing us the difference in cost for certain options. She is clearly passionate about the work she does and was very knowledgeable about the different options available to us leading up to the wedding.

We were married on a Saturday and the process for the weekend was simple and easy, dropping off all decorations on Friday afternoon at check-in and the rest was taken care of by Emily's team as far as day of set-up. Emily was also helpful during the rehearsal, making sure everyone knew where they needed to be for the day of. Our wedding day itself could not have run smoother. Every detail had been considered and my wife and I were able to enjoy the day fully! Emily and her team met our vendors as they arrived and coordinated making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time. We loved the flow between the different spaces throughout the night and enjoyed the patio space available during the reception as a place for our guests to step out and get some fresh air.

The venue overall was great and our guests loved it. The variety of rooms available was helpful to accommodate all types of guests and guest budgets. Our guests also loved the location with the beach only a few minute walk down the road, the cozy Ship Cellar Pub right downstairs for grabbing a drink, and the stunning views and walking paths across the street. Our guests also raved about the dinner, with many commenting on how they were used to 'wedding food' at other weddings that was 'just OK' and being taken aback at how delicious the food at the York Harbor Inn was (our dinner options were Filet Mignon and Baked Stuffed Haddock).

Finally, it was so clear throughout the process that the staff at the York Harbor Inn had thought through every detail. There were so many nice touches including cleaning the bridal suite between getting ready that morning and coming back after the wedding and leaving us a bottle of champagne for afterwards. We never felt like we had to worry about oversights or forgetting anything because we were in such great hands!

We could go on and on but are both so glad we chose the York Harbor Inn for our wedding venue and look forward to returning to celebrate our anniversary!

Seriously, my now husband and I would give YHI a million stars if possible. When we got engaged in 2020 we knew we wanted to get married on the water, somewhere in York - a place near and dear to our hearts. The moment we toured YHI, with Paul, we KNEW this was OUR VENUE. We had to have it! Paul and the team - Emily, Bridget (so many to name) worked so diligently to ensure our day was the most special day of our lives. We will never be able to properly thank them for all their hard work. The venue is GORGEOUS - our ceremony was in the park across the street overlooking the ocean, cocktail hour in the front dining room area and our reception in the ballroom. We even had the option (which of course we went with) to rent out their ship cellar pub for the after party which was incredible and so much fun for our guests. Emily helped us work out the tiny kinks along the way and has an eye for detail when it came to setting up the space for us. Paul, one the most incredible humans we've ever met and had the pleasure of working with, was alongside us every step of the way. He made sure we were comfortable, hydrated, happy and having fun! He takes his job so seriously but in the most professional and fun way possible. All of our family and friends had the best things to say about their personal experiences with him on our big day and we couldn't agree more. All of our guests were SO impressed by how organized and timely the day was. The food was DELICIOUS - one of the many highlights - including the late night hot dogs & nachos ordered in the pub. If you're looking for a beautiful venue, look no further and expect GREATNESS when you're in Paul's hands.

I wish there were more stars to select! My then fiancé and I decided to have our wedding at the York Harbor Inn (YHI) back in December 2019 after meeting with Paul and falling in love with the gorgeous seaside location. After a few date changes, we were finally able to have the wedding of our dreams this past weekend! Throughout the last almost two years, the staff (Paul, Amy, Bridgit, Cheyenne, and more) have been unbelievably supportive, understanding, and accommodating. They made the entire process a true joy and always told us that our wedding would happen and that it would be great! Honestly because of the York Harbor Inn we had the BEST wedding – the staff made sure all our 100 guests were attended to at all times (including my 93-year-old grandmother). They kept us on time to ensure we had time to chat with each guest and dance too! The Harley Mason reserve made for beautiful ocean front pictures and our guests got to watch the photo session from cocktail hour in the Main Dining Room. We also had an after party at the Ship’s Cellar Pub where we had amazing nachos and were able to spend more time with friends and family. Since our wedding, we have received more compliments about the delicious food, phenomenal service, the beautiful ballroom, and the lovely accommodations from our guests. We would HIGHLY recommend the YHI team to anyone looking to have the wedding of their dreams in beautiful Maine. We can’t wait to go back!

We had the "Lighthouse Package" wedding at Mason Hartley Reserve / York Harbor Inn for our intimate wedding and we are so pleased that we went with this venue. Paul and Amy are both amazing, and even though our wedding was tiny and there would be another wedding the next day, they made us feel like we were the only wedding of the year. The food was absolutely OUT OF THIS WORLD and everyone raved and raved about it. I think our guests really enjoyed being able to choose from a menu at the reception instead of RSVP'ing to a meal a month before. The service staff was very prompt, friendly, and responsive. The hotel accommodations are amazing and everyone who stayed at the hotel loved it. We also had an electric violinist play, and even though the Hillcroft Room isn't huge, the acoustics were perfect for her amp and everyone could still carry on a conversation. This has been such a stressful process planning this but if I had known how well it would have turned out I would not have needed to worry at all! Absolutely no regrets and everything was perfect!

York Harbor Inn now feels like a second home. Paul, Cheyenne, and the staff were genuinely supportive of every vision detail of our wedding day. Their correspondence was perfection and they made the day so seamless. We HIGHLY recommend York Harbor Inn.

Great food? Check! When you think of wedding food, it’s a cliche for a reason you don’t expect much. However, the food was just so amazing, we had so many compliments about how tasty the food was.
Beautiful location? Double check!! The ceremony was held at Hartley Mason Reserve. The grounds are just lovely and that view is perfection.
Paul and Cheyenne are just a dream team. I had nothing to worry about on the wedding day. Everything was handled for me and it was so stress free! The whole planning process was just so streamlined and everyone there was absolutely the sweetest and kindest people. With there help I had a dream wedding, seriously I just want to pinch myself at how beautiful and perfect it was.

We had our wedding a few weeks ago at the York Harbor Inn and cannot say enough great things about the venue and the incredible staff. Paul, Greg and Cheyenne are the A-team. Our friends and family were so impressed with them. Their support goes way above and beyond the norm for a wedding venue. They were incredibly responsive and helpful through the entire planning process and once we arrived the day before our wedding, they took literally everything off of our plates. We were able to thoroughly enjoy the entire weekend without worrying about a single vendor or detail!

In addition to the YHI's amazing staff, this venue is just absolutely stunning. We fell in love with it the moment we saw it. It's everything we hoped for when we dreamed of our wedding day! The food is AMAZING. At least half of our guests commented specifically that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. Several went above that praise and said it was the best steak they had ever had anywhere!

Finally, we had a small wedding of about 30 guests. While it is abundantly clear that the YHI would do an incredible job with larger weddings (they have a ballroom with capacity for a much larger wedding than ours!) it meant so much to us that they gave us the same care and attention for our intimate wedding. They really made our vision come to life and we are so thankful that we chose this venue for our special day.

On July 12, 2019 we had our reception at the York Harbor Inn, after having our ceremony across the street, overlooking the ocean at the Hartley-Mason Reservation. Cheyenne Wright was our wedding planner/coordinator, and she was amazing. She took us through every step of the process with patience and a treasure trove of information. All of the decisions were ours, of course, but made through her gentle guidance. She became a dear friend through the process.

The room where we had the reception was elegant, while not stuffy. We had a smaller wedding (about 40), but they handle larger weddings as well. They worked with us to decorate the facility in just the way we had dreamed. The food was wonderful--everything from the appetizers to the salads, side dishes and amazing entrees.

Every one of our guests raved about the York Harbor Inn. Beyond Cheyenne, Paul Gagnon the Guest Services Manager and Greg Silva who oversaw the food and restaurant aspects, were wonderful.

I cannot praise the York Harbor Inn enough! Please do not book your wedding in the York/Kittery area without first speaking with Cheyenne!

We were a completely travel in/destination wedding. We booked the YHI one year prior to our wedding and only stopped in twice when at home for business travel.

Our day was simply perfect. If you want to truly enjoy your day, Cheyenne and Paul are your wedding planners. We had a unique package which was a first for YHI — Morning Ceremony, Brunch, afternoon break, New England Clambake in the evening and after party in the Tavern. Our day ran smoothly, they were amazing with special requests, food was epic, staff is now family, dream team of vendors in their recommended list, nothing but guest compliments, and we all hugged at the end of our weekend.

You will not have a single regret if you choose the YHI. We were truly in love with everything from the location, rooms, food, service and recommended vendors. The value you get at the YHI is like nothing you will experience at other venues!

Obviously the York Harbor Inn is one of the most gorgeous ocean side wedding venues there is! I got married there the day of a brutal nor’easter, at first I was crushed that I couldn’t have my ceremony outside but Paul, Cheyenne, and Greg went above and beyond to make sure my wedding was still exactly how I pictured. They allowed me to get married in the dining room by the windows with the gorgeous ocean view. I had worked with the 3 of them over the course of about a year and they honestly made me feel like I was the only bride they were working with. They are so so talented in running a beautiful smooth wedding, and having such experienced talent on your team really takes away a lot of stress! The ballroom was gorgeous the food was amazing. The York Harbor Inn is honestly the best wedding venue and I couldn’t be happier with my wedding day!!

We got married at YHI on June 22, 2018. YHI provides what we came to call the dream team...Cheyenne, Greg, and Paul will be part of your wedding planning journey and you are BLESSED to have them. This team has been working together for years, is professional, and will execute your vision flawlessly. They are kind, organized, and fun! In addition to the dream team you get so the beautiful INN, the option to get married in the park across the street overlooking the ocean, amazing food, delicious drinks, a friendly staff and if your lucky a video made by Greg with highlights of your wedding day! Paul, Cheyenne, Greg, and the whole team at the York Harbor Inn were instrumental in making our wedding day special! They routinely went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure everything went as smoothly as possible. All we had to do was show up and have fun and we couldn’t have imagined our wedding day any other way!

From the first time we met Paul at the Inn to take a tour, we knew we were going to choose York Harbor Inn. On top of how beautiful the venue is, the staff truly cares for the people they are helping. From the coordinators, all the way down to the grounds crew and the front desk employees, everyone at the Inn was happy to help us in any way they could.

Paul, Cheyenne, and Greg each helped in their own way. Cheyenne helped us throughout the entire planning process, answering questions, preparing things on her end, and making sure all of the puzzle pieces were put together. Paul took over the day before and made sure our day went as close to perfect as possible. And Greg made sure the hall was set and that we had the most delicious food for our special day.

We cannot recommend the York Harbor Inn highly enough for your wedding. They really know how to create the most perfect wedding you could imagine!

The York Harbor Inn has always held a special place in both my husband and my heart, so it was a bit of no brainer when we got engaged that we wanted our wedding to be at YHI. I am even more in love with this place after our wedding and was totally blown away by the service we received. When you choose YHI for your wedding, you do not just an amazing venue, but you get an amazing group of wedding staff who truly work so hard to make your wedding perfect.
Cheyenne helped us every step of the way with planning our wedding and was so available to answer my many questions and help provide her recommendations. She helped keep me sane during hectic wedding planning!
Gregg and his banquet staff were absolutely amazing. My wedding guests were blown away with how amazing the food and service was at our wedding. Each entree comes out as a full size entree- none of our wedding guests were hungry after their meal.
Paul was an excellent coordinator day of our wedding. I did not have to worry about anything. Paul took care of everything! During the wedding, Paul helped to make sure that everything moved along, that we didn't get stuck at guest tables and that our guests had everything they needed.

Everything at the YHI was beautiful and made our wedding perfect.All of the staff pays attention to detail and we truly felt like all of the staff was just as excited about our wedding as we were. Looking back at our wedding, I would not do a single thing differently and in large this is due to the staff at YHI. Absolutely amazing.

My husband and I were looking for a quaint New England venue with a ton of charm and character. We did not want the sterile, one size fits all hotel venue. We found the York Harbor Inn. Not only does this Inn explode with New England charm and rustic character, it is also extremely well kept, clean and updated. It's 100% New England gorgeous. Plus the view of the ocean right out the windows made for absolutely stunning pictures. And that is only the venue!

The staff is outstanding!!!! You work with Cheyenne to plan all the details for your day and she is wonderful. Paul will provide you with the venue tour and constant pampering the day of. And Greg will make sure you and your guests will eat the most amazing New England food they've ever had. All three of them are amazing and extremely good at their jobs but above that, I couldn't believe how they made us feel like we were unique and like we were the only couple getting married there. I know there are hundreds of weddings there every year but they made us feel like we were the ONLY one. They were truly happy for us and you can easily tell that they love their jobs.

Also one last comment - the food really is outstanding. Many weddings I've been to were gorgeous with sub par food - not here. Get the chicken stuffed lobster, you'll know what I'm talking about. Also do a tasting, it's a very nice romantic dinner and you get to taste all your food!

Cheyenne and Paul are amazing! They made sure everything was taken care of prior to the wedding and made our day fantastic.

If you want your wedding or reception in Maine, you have to chose York Harbor Inn!! Cheyenne, Paul and Greg are the best of the best! Every part of the planning process was easy and fun! They are so attentive and caring.
This was a destination wedding for us and our theme was beach. I showed them samples of what I envisioned, delivered our items and they went above and beyond! I honestly couldn't have asked for more.
Because our wedding was small (40), we were able to pick 4 entrees for guests to chose when they arrived. I loved that it gave them options and they could pick whichever they were in the mood for! The FOOD is soooo delicious. Every single one of our guests commented on how amazing their filet mignon, lazy man lobster, chicken scallopini or baked stuffed haddock was. Even the salad was amazing !!!
I could never thank them enough for giving us the most perfect wedding reception. YHI is more than just a venue, they are friends for life !!!

We cannot thank Cheyenne, Paul and Greg enough. My husband and I were not big into planning our wedding. We just wanted all our guests in one place having a great time together and that's what we got! Cheyenne worked with us leading up to the event and was SO helpful. She offered lots of helpful ideas and advice, listened to what we wanted and worked with us to make it happen. On the day of, Paul and Greg were fabulous. Everything happened on time and better than we imagined. We were able to take pictures across the street, make it into our cocktail hour to talk with guests, actually eat dinner and have a worry free event. We had about 100 guests and the size of the room was absolutely perfect- no one had a bad seat or was far away from anything. The food was delicious- people raved about the filet and my guests who are vegetarians said it was by far the best veggie entree they've ever had at a wedding. They were very accommodating to family and kids with allergies. We also rented out the ship cellar's pub for afterwards and are so glad we did. Our party continued until 12:30- with delicious food and drinks- in the pub which has a very cool atmosphere. Thank you YHI for everything. We can't wait to come back to visit!!

We had such a lovely wedding at the York Harbor Inn. There is a beautiful park above the ocean right across the street from the Inn that you can have an outdoor ceremony at. The way the Inn is set up with the main Inn and multiple smaller houses was the perfect set up for our guests, who all traveled for the wedding and stayed at the Inn. All of our guests had fun because there is so much to do in the area, from walking the Cliff walk down to the beach, to nearby York Beach, and Ogunquit. The Inn has such quaint Maine charm that all of our guests fell in love with it. There is also a beautiful bar downstairs called the Ship Cellar Pub that serves top notch food, like overstuffed Maine lobster rolls. Beyond all of this, the main reason to have your wedding at the York Harbor Inn is because of their tremendous staff. The wedding planners and coordinators see to every possible detail in advance because they want the wedding to be absolutely perfect. I had all my calls and emails immediately addressed and for every question or concern we had, the Inn had a solution. Working with the staff at the York Harbor was a true delight. The day of the wedding, they were so organized and prepared that I did not have to worry about one thing and everything that day went absolutely perfect. If I even need to give another reason to choose this venue, it is the 5 star cuisine that is plated with such attention to detail that banquet hall meals seem a very far cry away.

I am so happy with the York harbor inn, they are truly amazing! They made our wedding day such a special day. Everything was exactly the way I have always imagined it. The staff is great, the inn is beautiful, and the food is delicious. What a great chose for your wedding!!!

Our wedding at The York Harbor Inn was everything we had hoped for...We were married in the park across the street from the Inn and it was the most beautiful day...Cheyenne and Paul's professionalism made our experience before and during our wedding and absolute joy...My husband and I are still getting compliments on how beautiful everything was, how good the food was and how friendly the staff was... ...We go to York every summer and the York Harbor Inn will definitely hold special memories for us...

My husband and I recently traveled to York, Maine with our closest friends and family to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary, and the birth of our son, with a vow renewal ceremony and reception. We booked our reception at the York Harbor Inn and cannot say enough about how wonderful they were to work with. They worked to make our event (which we entirely planned from a distance) very special and exactly what we hoped it would be. The food was outstanding, and the service was impeccable. We would highly recommend this vendor.

The York Harbor Inn is a truly incredible place. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Everything we needed and wanted for our big day was completely taken care of. We absolutely felt welcomed into the YHI family. All of our guests were blown away by the charm of the Inn. The ballroom is lovely and bright and the grounds around the Inn are gorgeous. All of our friends and family still talk about what a fabulous time they had and how friendly and helpful everyone was. Paul, Cheyenne and Greg are such great people and are very committed to what they do. I would highly, highly recommend the York Harbor Inn to anyone looking for a perfect Maine wedding venue.

We chose the York Harbor Inn because we wanted to have an outdoor ceremony overlooking the ocean and an inside reception with a gorgeous ocean view. The Inn helped make the arrangements for our ceremony in the park across the street and then they helped with every detail for the reception in the dining room overlooking the ocean. The people at the Inn were so enthusiastic about our wedding and they managed every detail perfectly. I had a long list of details, decorations and special preparations that I really wanted to be perfect for the day and they handled everything exactly as I had requested. We didn't have to worry about a thing except to show up and enjoy ourselves. It was perfect and I am so thankful to them for their help.

Beautiful venue in a beautiful location! The team was fantastic from start to finish. We knew we wanted a venue that would take care of everything for us - we didn't want to have to manage anything on our big day. They totally delivered! Prior to the event they were very helpful and accommodating with special requests we had. For example, we had many kids coming and they made some great suggestions for how to keep the kids entertained and even gave them a space of their own that was close to the action and to parents, and allowed them to take part in dancing, etc as they wanted. The slight separation allowed parents to fully enjoy the event without having to hover over kids. Our only negative comment was that while the food was good, the beef flavor and temperature was not quite to the level we hoped for. Everything went smoothly and many of our guests commented that it was the best wedding that had ever attended. It was a beautiful, enjoyable, celebratory day with NO worries of any kind!
