This review is LOOONG overdue -- if you want an officiant who make your wedding memorable, an officiant who will ease all your nerves on (and leading up) to your wedding, then Chris is it! From the moment we had our initial consultation, we knew we had found a great fit. Having a Black officiant was important to us and finding Your Custom Ceremony was worth the search!
Chris was so easy to work with. Every step of the way was a breeze. Communication was clear and prompt. Chris was patient, and made himself available for any and all questions we had. He also offered so many great ideas and suggestions to make our day unique to us.... -

Ok!! I'm a wedding vendor and I heard Chris at another wedding and knew I needed him at my wedding. My wedding was 2 years away and Chris was kind of enough to hold the date for me!!
And when the day came Chris had the crowd entertained and reminded them to not have their phones out during the ceremony but did give them a 60 second photo opportunity during the ceremony. And after the wedding the one thing our guest said they loved was the ceremony.
Chris makes sure your ceremony is not boring but memorable for you and the guests alike. If you are thinking about hiring Chris, hire him. You will not regret it!! -

From the first day we met Chris we could just feel the honesty, sincerity and pure happiness that projects from him.
We honestly didn’t know what to expect and thought this would be a very ridged and mundane process. That said, from the first second, Chris made this about US and what we felt was right for our day and our wedding.
His professionalism and ability to listen, absorb and put together a ceremony that was nothing less than perfect was simply over and above our expectations.

Chris did an amazing job. We were so impressed with his capability to arrange our ceremony in the way he did. He made it so funny and romantic at the same time . My guest were crying and laughing. Chris was very professional, helpful and caring. He really took his time captivating the timeline of our love story and summed it up in the perfect , funny , romantic way . If you don’t want the same ol boring traditional ceremony, I highly recommend Chris . All of our guest complimented him on how good of a job he did . He’s your guy !!!! Book him ASAP! -

Two weeks before our wedding, our officiant ghosted us. Frantically we searched for another officiant and thankfully our venue was able to recommend Chris. Working with Chris is like working with an old friend! He is inviting and incredibly funny. I can't imagine what our ceremony would have looked like without him. Despite our short timeline, Chris was able to make our ceremony special and unique to us! It rained the day of our wedding, but he was quick to adapt to the change in location. Overall, we are very happy to have Chris officiate our wedding. He definitely deserves more than five stars for his work. Thank you again, Chris! -

Chris Dickens was absolutely the best officiant we could have asked for! Upon first meeting him through a Zoom meeting, we had so much in common with him and we knew it was going to click for us. He was so attentive, reassuring, and encouraging of us being genuine and relaxed, and walked us through every step of the way, and he made our ceremony absolutely perfect. We got so many compliments from our guests, who all felt like he had known us for years from how detailed, understanding and accommodating he was, and I would gladly recommend him for anyone's wedding needs. Working with Chris was spectacular. Not only did he make our ceremony memorable, but he also provided great guidance during our pre-martial sessions. We did nine private sessions with Chris and discussed important topics to help establish a good foundation for our marriage. He was very thorough & flexible throughout the process and made sure that our vision for the ceremony came to fruition. I would highly recommend him to other couples. -

Chris is the man! Tell him I said that when you hire him. He officiated our double wedding (that’s right two marriages at the same time) and he was beyond amazing. Many of our family and friends thought he delivered the perfect balance of romantic, funny and spiritual. Chris was absolutely the most perfect officiant for our wedding!!! Do not hesitate to hire him for your special day! He is very accommodating and fun. I appreciated that Chris was very quick to respond to any questions that I had, and that he was still so helpful with any questions even after the ceremony (i.e. how to go about my name change). He also offers premarital counseling! Working with Chris allowed us to learn even more about each other in a fun and honest way leading up to our day. We were given homework assignments that really helped us dig deep into our relationship. And we still use the skills we learned during our sessions, on an everyday... -

If I could give more stars I would, Chris was amazing!!! We have recently been to several weddings and let me tell you, finding a good officiant is important! They run the flow of your ceremony and pump up your crowd who is there to celebrate your love. Chris was professional, easy to talk to, asked all the right questions to get to know us and our story, answered all of my crazy questions including “what would you do if there was an unruly guest?” He had the perfect answer “well I am a comedian with stage experience, so I am used to hecklers and could handle it no problem.” He put all of my “what if‘s” to rest... -

Chris was nothing short of amazing! I found him on WeddingWire and he came highly rated. We set up our initial meeting and never turned back. We decided to do the pre-marital counseling and it definitely helped with communicating and understanding one another, it was a blessing to have Chris mentor us.
Our ceremony was truly amazing! It was filled with so many laughs and we just had such a great time! Chris was able to capture our love story and share with our family and friends!

1 month post wedding and I'm still running into guests who will ask, "Where did you find your officiant Chris?!!! He was awesome!" Out of 210 guests, we had so many raving about him or asking if he was from our hometown in IN or from LA where we got married. He made our ceremony personal, spent time getting to know us via zoom, and made the ceremony meaningful, yet fun! He was open to suggestions or things we wanted to make it more personal and pulled it together beautifully for us. You won't be disappointed, you'll be so thankful if Chris officiates your wedding. -
